I almost always prefer the studio recording of songs, but this performance is one of the few exceptions where it has replaced the original track for me. Whenever I feel like listening to Drown With Me this live performance is what I always play. Incredible. Hope you guys tour in the United States again someday.

I feel exactly the same man. I f*cking love it.
There's something about the airy sound and atmosphere of the live-setting that really elevates this song. More verb helps the drums and and entire mix sound bigger which suits this a lot.
The acoustic guitar not feeling obnoxiously loud and percussive in the mix really helps. It's more dynamic. After Barbieris masterful keyboard section which always makes me feel like I'm flying, it's been a bit buried, but then gets a break where it sets us down by a campfire, somehow without the song loosing momentum as much as on the record, on which the keyboard solo is a thinner sounding guitar one by the way. Here we're missing that fabulous and detailed acapella section, but in turn, Stevens vocal delivery packs so much energy in this. 4:08 for example. And of course, Gavins more impromptu live-fills build up a lot of energy that really intensifies and strengthens the overall impression of the song as it goes along, making you feel like a lot of detail is missing when you listen to the studio version afterwards.
I believe Steven said in the In Absentia documentary that his biggest regret about In Absentia, was that this song didn't make it. It's such a great song, but they just didn't like how the recorded version turned out/didn't find it fitting, and left it as an extra although it had a bunch of potential. Could've been amongst their top ten most popular now, perhaps?

Gavin has a grace that no other drummer on the planet posses. Just simply mesmerizing and every song has some kind of fill that makes you stop and go what the hell did he just play there.

Steven Wilson and Porcupine Tree are the only examples of music I prefer live. They're so tight is't unbelievable for such complex musical arrangements.
I have "Muse, Rammstein and Porcupine tree" as bands who's lives are truly a masterpiece.

John Wesley vocals on this make it- this song means everything to me and to see great a live version of it is a treat any time. Imagine seeing it live with PT though... that’d be best of all.

This band is criminally underated and underexposed. I am a latecomer, maybe a year ago. A little sad and aggravated, I didn't find them before then. This whole performance rocks.
