    This board is amazing. Great as a daily driver in most conditions. And worth sizing up for.
    But it is not a groveller. Super small, weak waves don’t work for the pintail

      What is a groveller? I’m new to surfing. I surf east coast smaller waves. Trying to transition from an 8ft foamie to something more maneuverable that can still handle smaller waves.

    I"m 90kg and 6'2" tall and just bought a 6'2" greedy beaver. Great board. I think this board is sized right for me. It catches waves better that a different 6'6" board i have with the same volume, which i put down to the greedy's plan shape and rocker. It just glides so well.

      IM 5'11'' and also 90kg. looking at this board... i am coming off an 8ft log and i cant decide if i should get a 6'6'' pr 6''4 in this board - then i saw your comment and you have a 6'2'!! dont know which to go now!

    ive been riding a 5'6 beater board, which is like a softop short board and i'm having a blast surfing on it. This looks pretty similar and a lot more fun. I don't have a legit real surfboard yet but i have been using my friends board a little bit. Would it be worth gettin the greedy beaver, it looks really really fun to ride

    Hi is this a good board for a begginer who has the basics ? Or do you have better alternative ?

    • @BoardshopUK
      @BoardshopUK  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Christopher, the Greedy Beaver would make a great first proper board, nice and stable/ forgiving, this comes from the shape. a great paddler which generates plenty of speed and will catch waves with ease, go for a larger size to accommodate your ability at the moment.

    Hey there! What quad fins could you recommend for the GB?

  • @jadsoueidi9068
    @jadsoueidi9068 ปีที่แล้ว

    Should we go smaller or bigger with these . Coming from a torq 6.3 ( with not much of success trying to improve )

    • @BoardshopUK
      @BoardshopUK  ปีที่แล้ว

      it depends on your height and weight... If you're around 70kgs and a progressing beginner it's the 6 2 or 6 4, if you're a decent intermediate it's the 5 10 or 6 0 and if you're a ripper go as short as you like.

      @@BoardshopUK thanks for the reply ! Will think about grabbing a 6.2 . Just worried about the high volume .. tricky with curly waves in Portugal

    Hey mate I’m looking at getting one, I’m Beg/Int 5’11 for 152lbs and don’t if I should go for 5’10 or 6’.. What do you reckon?

    Any tips on what future fins would work well on this board in the medium weight range?

      @BoardshopUK  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +SeR TeD We are all about the Futures at boardshop - just had a big restock (www.boardshop.co.uk/brands/futures) I really think the Firewire Set works brilliantly www.boardshop.co.uk/future-fins-firewire-tri-quad-large-five-fin-set-black-red it's large. But not a massive large. Hope this helps

    Aloha,
    I was curious about the greedy beaver. I’m 5’7” 160lb, intermediate surfer, weekend warrior & 43 yet body of a healthy in shape 30yr old. My question is on sizing the thing. I was thinking 5’10 but the more I read about the thing I’m thinking 6’0”. I want the board to fit the groveler role in my quiver, desiring to catch waves with ease and still have fun with a short board feel. Do you think the 6’0” would be to much volume @ 37L. My groveler now is a psycho nitro at 33L. Please enlighten me!
    Mahalo,
    Rick

      Hi Rick - go 6ft 0 if looking on the grovel side of things

    Would this be good for beginner to come down of 9' longboard? I'm looking for something forgiving and easy to paddle to progress, and that will fit inside my car (maximum length 6'10"). I'm 5'9", 165-170 lb.

    Any thoughts on this board as any mini mal, over sized, like 6´8?

    • @BoardshopUK
      @BoardshopUK  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Pontus Melin Hi, not exactly what it was intended for. But it woyuld be well worth a try. Dont see why it would not work oversized!

      I'm looking at this as a 6'6. Did you end up trying one???

    • @abusahlaharris8088
      @abusahlaharris8088 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @AussieBattler The issue is if you go bigger , the volume would also increase and I know someone who has 6'4 with about 40Litres and he struggling to duck dive. So this would be the only obstacle in going bigger. Did you end up trying it?

    I'm at beginner/intermediate level surfer. Learnt surfing on a mini mal 7' 2''. Looking forward to get my Greedy Beaver as first surfboard, but still having doubts about length and volume. I know the first thing I should look at would be catching waves (thus, volume), but I also would like to make a good investment. Meaning, purchasing a board to have fun with when I'll get to a higher level .Moreover, I'm definitely not tall (172 cm) and I'm pretty light (68 Kg). I was thinking about a 6' (38 volume), but as said, I have many doubts about the choice... Would you have any suggestion? Which length could be the best fit/compromise?
    Thanks in advance for the help, best!! ;)

      I think between 6ft 0 and 6ft 4 would be the go initially.

    Judging by the looks it seems like a copy of the Takayama Scorpion

    • @BoardshopUK

      +Willi Primo
      Hi,
      We have had a couple of Takayama Scorpion’s as trade in boards
      so have seen the board in the flesh. Greedy Beaver is quite different to be
      honest. Whilst most forward outline, pulled in tail boards will look the same
      to a certain extent. The Greedy Beaver is far more balanced in being a cross over
      board. The Takayama looks and feels much more like a mini longboard, and with
      the traditional 2 + 1 setup surfs this way.
      The Greedy Beaver still catches waves like a longboard but has
      far more of a sensitive responsive feel when up and riding. The rocker is also
      a bit more refined, and Timbertek construction surfs brilliantly!
      Hope that helps.
