many instances i think being brought up on a silver spoon can be detrimental to any athletes success, he’s been able to block out the outside noise, people pumping him, camera in his face at all times and the onslaught of opinions over the years to still come out on top. If anything i think he’s proved a lot of people wrong and has overcome a lot of things that most people wouldn’t even consider hurdles.
Yeah. Not matter how privaledged he is, it doesn't matter now. He is the real deal. To be where he is at now, he is absolutely working his ass off and deserves to be where he is at.
Riding and practicing with Tomac, Fernandes, Craig, Cooper, And ALL his Hard work at the goat farm is paying off, this kid has put in the hard work and is showing now, and that track is rough as hell!!
I still have to come back and watch this race because of the distance he made up was epic. And now he gets both rookie of the year awards and took the SMX championship as a rookie. And he was only 17 i can't wait to see what he does once he gets on the 450 and races the Lawrence Brothers.

I'm with you and I really believe he has RC, JS and MC talent butt..... yes there's a butt. MC with 7 SX titles and more than 70 SX wins and RC with a 150 wins with 5 SX and 10 MX titles and over a hundred MX wins will be very hard records to break. So he needs 6 to break RC SX and 8 to break MC Sx titles and 11 MX titles to break RC outdoor titles just in the premiere MX class. 3 perfect seasons to break RC perfect season title. I hope he does it but I really don't see anyone ever breaking those records. But I do believe he's one of the next greats if he can stay healthy
It sure does!..I've said that since he was on a 65cc...the raw talent is unmistakable!! Carmichael had that and so does Deegan...the way he flows through the track is what caught my eye on this race...definitely reminds me of Carmichael.
If there is anyone that benefited from the Deegan name it's Dax Bennett. Not saying he's where he is because of it, but they have grown up close together and pushed each other to the point they are now. Dax raced for star future team I believe for only a ride, no guarantees. He got himself a 2 year contract at the end of supercross season. Some young talent coming up quick. Casey Cochran is probably next. Exciting time to be a fan of the sport.
Only advise I have for this young kid. Don't over ride your ability. Stay focused and pace it. Wild riding doesn't get you to a pro level only in a hospital. Think smart
C'mon deegan in this field of competition, is expected to win. You be stupid to bet against him. So his star yamaha training program is working, which the others don't have that. It's amazing people can't see the reality of the class he's racing. I was more excited and keen when he was racing in the ama motocross against his level and higher gaining the experience he now needs.
Not to knock the showing, but in most motocross events or supercross, there are only a handful of exceptionally talented riders. When the cream of the crop have a bad start they make up most of the positions on the less skilled riders within a lap or two. I'm a Tomac fan and have been since he started but know that some of his big comebacks aren't against racers at Tomac level.

Yeah it was only a 2 month contract to train and race a futures race he ended up getting a bigger contract after that race

Why were the lap times so slow in this moto compared to moto 2? Not one rider dipped below 1:50. In moto 2 many riders were below 1:50. What changed?
