    Thanks for your B8 videos. Just bought a 2010 A4 Quattro and was looking to change all fluids and filters among other things so these really helped.

    Thanks so much for posting this. I've been looking all over for a guide to the B8/8R platform for my Q5. This was super helpful! Gonna get onto this tomorrow. Thanks again 🙂

    hello sir does audi a4 2011 3.0 tdi has also a transfer case that fluid should be changed to, or its has only front and rear differential, thank you

    • @gasNmudtv
      @gasNmudtv ปีที่แล้ว

      If your car is equiped with a transfer case aswell then chage it aswell. Make sure to look up what fluid is needed and how much. When in doubt search some online forums. Google it. Good luck

    Did the differential have to be warmed up after filling then checked again to see if the fluid weeps from the port?

    Hi cars and coding great vid by the way. Anyways I was just wondering how many bottle of diffrerential fluid did you used for the front, center, and rear? Are all of this differential fluid is the same color on oem one? thanks

      All links and info are in the video descriptions. Click the little "down arrow" on the right side of the video title if you are on a mobile phone to see the video description and links. To answer your question, get 3 liters of gear lube to fill the front and rear. The center differential uses a special oil that is about $75 for one liter. Again, all links for what to buy are in the video description on the corresponding video (front, center, rear videos). Thanks for watching!

    Hi, I’m going to knock this out. Is any 75w/90 gear oil fine? I’m probably gonna to buy the Valvoline 75w/90 api gl-5 one since it’s a squeeze bottle one so I don’t need to buy a syringe.

    So far so good, did you use 2 okters for front and 2 for back or could get away with 3 total liters?

    Thank you for this video! What mileage did you do this on the time of this video? I have a 2014 b8.5 s4, after looking at the scheduled maintenance intervals sheet, it never states any other cars other than RS 5 and RS 7 get the differential oil service. Went in for the 35,000 mi service last year at the dealership, rechecked the work order invoices just and they never did it, only DSG. Now I'm paranoid currently at 49,000 mi with missed center & rear diff oil change maintenance. Glad I caught your video! You think there's any damage since i missed it? Guess I'm going to have to do this myself. Thank you again!

    • @CarsandCoding
      @CarsandCoding  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was at 85k miles. You didnt do any damage. There is no change interval from Audi, so it is up to you when you change it.

      I also have a 2014 S5 with the rear sport diff. I have asked the dealership why there isn't a change interval for the S models and they said something about not requiring it to be changed, but because of the higher horsepower and torque on the RS models, they have intervals. I find it BS, so I will change mine....eventually.

    Great video. I noticed you always mention how much oil came out, but does this have anything to do with the amount you put back in? Or do you add 2L no matter what.

    • @CarsandCoding
      @CarsandCoding  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fill until it run out. Takes 1 liter but you can add more until it runs out of the fill hole. I measured what came out just as a reference.

    I’d like to preface this with I have new motor mounts & trans mount but I still have drivetrain vibrations coming into the cabin. Car’s at 170,000 got it at 150,000 not sure if they ever changed transmission fluid or filter, or the diff oil, I’ll have the mech see if they can tell. Now with the diff, would bad a lower differential bushing and rear carrier bushings cause vibrations to the cabin? Especially when I throw it in gear, reverse is even worse.
    And does the front differential and center differential transfer case have mounts or bushings?

    • @EJR20

      @@gasNmudtv yes, I did, to no avail. Most people solved this problem by replacing their motor mounts and or transmission mounts. My mechanic was suspecting the quality of the motor mounts and transmission mounts. I got they were not the genuine ones but a trusted brand, the motor mounts were from Lemforder & trans from SKP. I’m not sure if SKP is good. It is worth mentioning that after I swapped out the transmission and motor mounts the vibrations decreased significantly but they were slowly coming back, and now it is at a point where it is very noticeable, especially when the engine is cold, and I put it in reverse.
