Guys, this is a competition between a CMX for and a Traditional form. While saying that Jake looks stiff is technically correct, that also means he's doing it correctly. They are very different forms so comparing them using the same criteria doesn't do traditional-style forms justice.
You are very much right sir, the black wearing kid is doung a freestyle and the while gimono kid is working a traditiinal bojutsu, so im with on the fact that its not fair
Sorry but there is nothing traditional about any of this. Traditional bo kata does not require you to "power up" your arm before starting. 01:29 Frankly all of this is a disrespectful americanised caricature of traditional Eastern martial arts. It's like taking a temple and slapping a Mcdonald sign on it.
I'm 17 right now and i got an Interest in Martial Arts such as Jiu Jitsu/Karate/Taekwando but haven't started any of them yet but i wish i knew wat it was so i could have started much earlier.
I can advise tang soo do if it’s in your area it’s the traditional and overal better version on taekwondo do combining Chinese Korean and Japanese arts in one
If you want to learn real martial arts, stay clear and as far away from these "exibitionists". While they are impressive and extremely athletic, they are not real martial artists. If you really wish to learn and have a real interest, try and look for traditional style martial arts and not so much these modern "sports" or "showmanship" marrial arts. Best of luck in your martial arts journey my friend 😎👍
This is so ridiculous. This is more dancing than real Kobudo. OK, dispite of that, the performance was really fast and clean. But it has nothing to do with Budo
You’re right this isn’t kobudo. It’s xma and it’s pretty dang impressive. Kobudo and xma are both amazing arts but can’t really be compared because the focus and purpose is so completely different.
Holy F*ckin' Sh1t man...the second participant is unbelievable and should be doing stunt work in motion pictures!!! I started doing Kick Boxing and Savate when I was 16. Made it to Black Belt and got into doing another sport that demanded all of my time (road bike racing) and I was doing 65 miles per day on average and the martial arts has been long gone in my life. My wife is German, met while I was stationed there in the Army. She has a black belt in Kung Fu and did Kendo and Tsai. Was in the Polezei SEK (Spezialeinsatzkommando) and she is truly bad assed. I have mad respect for the mindset and training it takes for these youngsters. Keep it up!
dude. the first guy! camera right, watch his family. as his...i gotta assume uncle, walks in MID SHOWCASE. and then watch the rest of the background. everyone here, reading this. it exists outside the fight. everything is everything. you can watch as the 2nd guy has a completely disorderly family, except they arn't there.
Both kids are talented but I'm willing to bet the first kid in white was thinking thank God I didnt have to go on after the kid in black cause thats what I'd have been thinking.. That second kid in black I mean dam bro thats a hard act to follow that boy gots skillzz.....
Thank God the UFC exists and separates all the bullshido from real fighters. When can any of these people use a long bar in a fight especially after training with that bar for many years? They would immediately be considered a dangerous weapon & arrested if they ever pulled that out even in road rage? They wouldn’t be crazy enough to try to use it in a gunfight? They can’t bring it with them into a bank? So why all those waisted years of training with it? Maybe you can use it in a movie or something. Nonsense to call this a “Martial Art”
meh...needs a better choreography on the first guy. The facial expressions, had me laughing so hard. The Bo sticks look like batons. Is this cheerleading?
Just plain stupid! Staffs were made of iron and then later 2" thick wood which was hardened. Now we have " competition staffs" That are super thin. I guess they don't want the entitled kids to get hurt.
@@TheInfantry98 Noooo, I am not jealous. I may have been too harsh, I have studyed for over 40 years and I am trained in the old ways and don't enter competions. The Duke of the Skull bro it doesn’t matter if someone throws a bo staff cuz nowadays people use guns that fire bullets at over 1000-2500 FPS. Sorry bro but no one fights the traditional way anymore. It’s antiquated and boring AF
@@TheInfantry98 very, very, true!! In battle you use your best option, you want to be the one that lives. It’s never too late. I was 10 when I started and just got back into it at a blue belt level at the age of 35. I’m learning bo staff and escrima now

interestin warmup, but were are the matches?
What style and name of kata??
Great excellent performance.
I think this is an XMA tournament. (Extreme martial arts) it is based off intensity, technique, and difficulty
its a dance
That Is Not Kata it has no relationship to Ryukyu Kobudo it all fake frauds
LETS GO DONNIE!!! TURTLE POWER
For the channel this is the third video i watch and in the middle of it the sound goes away
Could someone please tell me who the man in the Black is??
Aidan Considine
Why music? So distracting
my niece does that during half time at her schools football games.
Anything related in london?
the first guy was good but then the second guy showed up and pulled what is called a pro-gamer move
Gostaria de aprender esse kata com bastão, manda um vídeo com o kata passo a passo
First kid looked like all Robot moves! 2nd one ( in black) looked like Luke Skywalker moves! Which one did you vote for?
The "robot moves" were part of a traditional form, with proper technique. The second kid was doing 90% showmanship.
Very good job ,1
☯️
Which fighting style is this??
I like the Kata but the yelling is a bit much. 🤷♂️
This is not martial arts. This is two dudes jumping and twirling a stick around. Martial arts is the art of combat.
now put someone from this competition in a sparring agaisnt someone who doesnt train nothing at all to see if this is not an art of combat
I bet he send this video to his school bullies
What kind of martial arts is this
Why the obnoxious screaming makes it more a joke then a beautiful martial art
예술이네요

Very true bro. The bo’s they have are very light they wont be able to do much and spin around with the thick and heavy rokushaku
What's jakes music ?
Now make em fight
The first guy was amazing and fast AF, but spent more time bowling then actually performing.
Epic combat
Combat? I didnt c no fight
the staff is super light near toothpick weight but yes hes good
That’s me 3 am in morning looking for my next hit trying to swot a fly with a stick to no avail.

2nd: I cannot believe you all watched this and didn't recognize it. the background. situational awareness.
3rd. If you didn't realize the background before this. Well. Good luck with your fun fight games.
My guess is the first guy was more tactically efficient for combat while the other one was more for show
Dang, homeboy on the right was like " I'm just gonna creep out the back door quietly"
Someone used a remote to controll a robot guy😮😮😮
como se lla el de negro

Wow!
When it comes to freestyling, I'll go to the black one. But if it's a combat fight, i'll go with the white.

Wonderful performances!!
Огонь.Я сталевар
Le 2 faisait juste flex avec son baton
Cool
No.1 is like a robot. No.2 is very good
This just shows you don’t need fancy risers to have a great form
Can he take a BJJ blue belt or higher ?
Nope
Amazing that’s was beautiful to watch
Would be cool to see it with an actual staff. Not a toothpick 😉😂
What would happen if the staff got away from the kid I could see a spectator being killed
That was a great laugh. Had no idea you could turn that into dancing!
Dude calm thy face and thy voice... going way to hard to maintain a straight face hahaha 😂
