    Nice packing of the van and the Ute I didn't realize how much space the van had. Also nice to see Christine and nice teamwork.

    Hi Chris great videos mate keep up the great work, here in Maryborough vic they charge $30 to get rid of a mattress, if you get a knife and cut all the way around the stuffing it just peels off the metal springs, you can dump the metal spring for free at the tip and just have to dispose of the stuffing as general waste, it's much cheaper, cheers Nick

      @TheUltimateRecycler  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Nick, thanks mate. Yes, I have done that before and with older mattresses, I've even fed all the cotton waste to my worm farms and almost had nothing to throw out! Unfortunately time and space is a problem at the moment and so getting rid of them straight away was necessary. Besides - that option wouldn't work for the foam one, and the other had a pillow top which the tip would probably still charge as a mattress even without the springs. Our tip charges $26 per mattress.

      @@TheUltimateRecycler good work, great idea with the worms it's such a shame they charge so much, a lot of people have been dumping them in bush land around here, i picked up a lot of tvs for recycling from nearby bush, since they have started taking ewaste at the tips it has stopped a lot of illegal dumping.

      The table and the storage racking were almost worth the deal on their own! Somehow I don't think we will find any good treasure, but you never know! 😊

    I am sure you will make a good profit from all that once you get your 'pad and pencil out' 😁 It's good you were able to make use of some of that furniture, and I think that the racking is probably one of the more expensive and useful items. 👍

    Can you pull the fabric off the mattress and scrap the springs, reduce the landfill cost

    • @TheUltimateRecycler
      @TheUltimateRecycler  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes that's an option Dave, but not in this case as the 'pillow top' section would still be charged as a mattress! I have used that method before tho 👍😊

    A mate if mine has paid through storage shed for over 10 years. It was $240 8 years ago. It's long story but he had house build and it was full of problems end up suing the builder and they purchased the house back off him. So he put his whole house into storage shed and I said to him 8 years ago if you just throw it all away and buy all new furniture, be cheaper. I saw the crap he put in there and his nothing worth any money.. all second-hand broken crap. His cousin tried to get him to clean it up but he just keeps hold of it. One day he might come to senses.

    • @TheUltimateRecycler
      @TheUltimateRecycler  ปีที่แล้ว
