- First Edition Arts organised and curated their second annual Diwali Concert Series on 1st November 2013. The event was sponsored by Union Bank of India. This year's headlining artiste was Ashwini Bhide Deshpande.
Here she performs Raag Bhairavi and a tarana. The bandish "Kahe Rokat Shyam" was composed by Chaitanya Kunte.
She was accompanied by Pt. Vishwanath Shirodkar on Tabla and Seema Shirodkar on Harmonium. Dhanashree Ghaisas and Shamika Bhide accompanied on Tanpuras.
The concert was held at Ravindra Natya Mandir, Prabhadevi, Mumbai.

The Rhythm pattern that Vidushiji has employed in the Bandish is an interesting nine and a half beats (2-3-2-2.5). Rarely heard. Adds a magical, mystical element to the rendition.

It's like. Jhaptaal justvthe last division is 2.5 beats instead of 3 . Swami Manan has explained

There is no short cut for this. You will have to learn Classical Music from an adept Guru. Through years of practice and training you pick up this skill.

When we count each matra with a clap..... inbetween when the hands go backwards....its the halfmatra.... very easy!

नो सर... देवाने दिलेलं ताला-सुराचं थोडंफार ज्ञान आहे. त्याच्या जीवावर घरच्या घरी स्वान्त-सुखाय संगीताशी थोडीफार झटापट करतो. बाकी मी कोणाकडे शिकलोही नाही व अर्थात शिकवतही नाही, फक्त संगीताचा भरपूर आस्वाद घेतो.
