Just be yourself, when you loose people and pets that you love we grieve, there is no time frame for grief, Christmas time and family events can be hard as these are times we would normally spend with the loves ones we have lost. Hi Dave, My dad passed in 2010 and mom in 2017. At this time of year I remember the Christmas celebrations with extended family. I often think that heaven is a place where all my family members can get together as in days of old, up there sharing a meal, Uncle Merrill is watching a college football game, the women are admiring each others knitting or crocheting projects. The cousins and I are playing with new toys or card games. Do not be ashamed of your tears. You shared a great deal of strength to do a video while just wanting to hide away. You are super strong. You will survive! Maybe its time to get a new puppy or older dog, not to replace the one you loved and lost, but a new friend. Hugs from Texas, Ann

Hi Dave, Christmas can be a difficult time for grief. The emphasis is on fun, family time, and enjoyment, and if you are missing someone it just intensifies that feeling, making you feel lonelier than usual. Yes that may well be the best option, I've usually had both cats and dogs together but not at the same time so it takes they a period of adjustment, but maybe this time if I get them together they will see each other as family and just be happier together 😘🤗🥰
Dave… I completely agree… they seem to have “Quilting Bees”… we need a “Crafting Bee”… maybe a “Craft Zoom”??? I feel for you my friend… my mom passed January 2019, shortly after the holidays and, sadly in fact, my hubby just lost his mom yesterday… And, 52 years ago, I lost my favorite Auntie on 12/19… I always remember that day, every year… I was quite young and it devastated me… Power through my friend… sending the biggest hugs across the pond…❤ By the way, this box is awesome…☺️☺️☺️
I think Craft Zoom is a great idea, there are so few crafty related events over here is the UK so it's rare I get to meet up with like minded people, which is a shame. The holidays can really suck at times, especially when thoughts of loved ones who have passed flood your mind with memories of happier times. I promise you that this will get easier in years to come, as I lost both my parents by age 26. The pain remains yet not as sharp and you find yourself not exactly happy, but a smile and sometimes a giggle escapes as you recall better days. We are all thinking of you Dave, never forget your subs are right there with you in spirit and sending an outpouring of unconditional love. It has struggled to get above 0c for the last week, last night in Batley (West Yorkshire) it was -6.5c tonight it is forecast to be -10c so the snow we had last weekend has turned to ice and the roads are treacherous! I wasn’t even able to open my car door last night, I had to climb over the passenger seat! 😱😱😱 xx
Oh Dave, I can feel your pain all the way over here 😕. I’m so so sorry. I lost my mom in April, so this is the first Christmas without her. Sadly, we were on the opposite sides of all the drama happening in the states. She was very racist, my daughter is half African. She was homophobic, my dear friend is a very outspoken lesbian. I could go on, but it doesn’t matter. I still lost her and still feel that void. I can only image how it would be with a loving mother. Your mom seems like she was an inspirational woman. As far as sweet Wooster, what an amazing companion he was. Our fur babies are more than just pets, they are our unconditional best friend. His loving energy still surrounds you. I sincerely believe that hugs can be healing. I do wish I could give you a big bear hug! 🧸 I think it would be awesome to attend a craft retreat. How fun! Your online YT friends love you very much. And your pain was our gain, because this is a fabulous box! 😍 I hope you and Vic had a wonderful Christmas and spent some quality time just for the 2 of you. I have many friends in my art and weaving groups but they all have families so Christmas can be a bit lonely but Im looking forward to the groups starting again on 7th January.
