Know it was years ago but Great review man thanks heaps. Ur spot on about the knuckle area. You can feel like a touch of maybe space around the knuckle or just not snug fitting which makes it feel like what u said without wraps. Looks to probably be designed for wraps. Cos of the snug fit (that i love, Large model 6ft 109kg) & not using full hand wraps anymore these days in my 40's. Ive been using those rival half gel wrap half hand wrap 150 inch model with my other gloves man, when i put them on with these RB80s i just picked up man...sooo good such a nice snug but not tight fit. A bit stiffer to close fist than rb1 ultra 2.0 out of the box but can also open fingers more with slightly more finger room to spread fingers, bit more flexible, slightly less supportive wrist & a bit stiffer foam. I cant wait to wear them in should be perfect. Super good gloves man

Gret video. What do you prefer for heavy bag and focus mitts? Venum Elite (55$) or this rival impulse (85$) ???
Not tried Venum gloves yet but I've seen a few of their cheaper pairs get pretty damaged after a short time, I think in that price range I would go with the Rivals if you can afford them, if not ringside do a few decent pairs around $50-60 I think
I'm looking at Fairtex BGV9 which also seem amazing for bag work, but there were recommended to me as well. Any thoughts on those versus these Rival ones?

it's not intended for sparring. only bag or mitt workout. He clearly said it in the video

Do you remember if did your RB80 gloves started seem crumbled padding? My RB80 are with some dots, like bubbles. I dont know whats it means. Thanks for helping!
Mine were okay but I didn't use them super regularly, I'd imagine you're right in what your saying as I've had it happen with some Adidas gloves, its the outer layer of foam just starting to deteriorate and clump itself, a bit like when your clothes that go bobbly after a while. Performance-wise they should be okay even when this starts to happen but keep an eye on them as the rest of the foam will start to fail slowly
You have to wipe them down and spray them with anti bacterial spray. It will extend the life of your gloves. Don’t throw them right in your bag after a workout. Keep them out so they air out.
Do you train at a boxing gym
Joseph Lee Yeah I train at my local amateur gym but don’t really have time to record there as its just 100% work when your there, gonna try get some sparring footage to upload soon though!!
