Great Video ! I needed to see this in slow motion and ceasar delivered. The right turn was very confusing to me at first because I lost track of the count and foot placement during the spin on seven. First time spinners will get disoriented like I did. I still need practice with a partner though because the switching of hands throws another wrench into the equation. I practiced in socks on a *smooth wooden floor which helped me get the timing down. Saludos desde Nueva York.
omg...this is the first video showing it the way I learned it! Right foot forward first! The others just confuse me because it isnt what I learned. I just started learning salsa this week! Do you have a video on left turn by the chance? I looked I didnt see it.
The song playing is called "Pensando En Ti" by Los Satélites. There's another version by "La Dimension Latina (Oscar de Leon was the singer then) Los Hermanos Lebron played a song called "Pensando."
I'm a musician so I completely get dancing on 1 vs. 2. On 1 the guy does half a basic and turns the girl (or cross body lead, etc) while stepping back on 5. On 2 you're turning the girl first on 2, which no matter what feels completely backwards to me since I learned on 1, and I don't think I'll ever get used to that.
Thanks for the video. the beginning demo seemed a bit rushed to me.. I didn't feel that you guys paused on beats 4 and 8. would you agree or am i missing something?
Hey Simmy! they didn't paused on beats 4 and 8 - because they were dancing Salsa On2 - Eddie Torres Style - the bits 4 and 8 here are the bits that they are spinning on. for example for the followers (ladies) they step forward on the count of 2, step in place on the count of 3 (spin on 4) and land to the basic on 5 for the guys it is the same just switch the 2-3-5 with 6-7-1 and 4 with the 8 bit I hope it is helpful!
The On2 NY Style of Salsa is called "On2" because the break step happens on count 2. The break step is the step in which the direction change from backward to forward happens. It is not the first step. If you can't keep the comments respectful they will be deleted. Thanks!

@@KC-qr3wk , Nopi *Exactly!* in the video it is Salsa On2 - Eddie Torres Mambo and the timing is 2-3-5 (left-Right-Left) for the basic turn for the girs and 6-7-1 (left-Right-Left) for the guys if you dance Salsa On1 the timing will be 5-6-7 (left-Right-Left) for the girls and 1-2-3 (left-Right-Left) for the guys I hope it was helpful and not confusing - it is challenging to explain it in words (I might do a tutorial about that on my channel as well in the Near future)

yea i kind of agree with georgewu5..because she is counting the 1 and this is supposed to be "on 2" it is really confusing me. I learned salsa on 1...so the count was 1,2,3,..5,6,7. so if this is "on 2"..then the count should be 2,3,4..etc. Its a great video..but just be more clear.
I believe that count of 234,678 is used in Son Cubano. Salsa on 2, as far as I know, (but I can be mistaken) uses 123-567 but the 1 and 5 are stepped in place an you break in 2 and 6, as opposed to breaking in 1 and 5 for salsa on1.
Again man, you need to understand what the break step is. It is not just any random forward or backward step. It is the step that you actually change direction on. Get your facts straight before you get all bent out of shape and start leaving comments that are incorrect.
Why not use the terms Follower and Leader since both men and women and men can lead ? And follow for that matter. Both my teachers have been female, teaching us both Lead and Follower steps. Inclusive language please :)
This is the most useful video I've seen so far... please post more! Thanks!
Good stuff you have here 💪

Really getting keen on dancing on2.

Love to see you dance!
excellent dance and also generate a lot of confidence really like to do this for others to learn and have a question page on facebook?
what a great break down, very clear and precise!
Excellent demonstration. I like the way it was broken down. Love the song on this as well. Can someone tell me the title of this song?

Hi , what is the name of the song at the start of the video ?
The name of the song is pensando en ti. By los hermanos LeBron. Or another version by la dimensión latina.

pls share your experiance with me, i have been dancing on1 for 10 years now. I learnt very little on 2. can you contract me?
the count in the video is 2-3-5 6-7-1 which is On2 Eddie Torres Style - I hope it helps :)

Not stupid. Just not educated about what the NY Style of Salsa is.
