There is a lot of info here, a little overwhelming at times but I love the mellow tone, it helps with consumption of the media. I have been looking for a guide for some time to help me get into the game. This is perfect. Thanks a lot for the time and effort put into making this :) You have my sub!
I thought it was underwhelming as hell for the amount of content in the game (which is good cuz the amount is overwhelming). I’m literally clueless there’s like 5 currencies, 10 shops, chronicles, story missions, 4 events, armada, housing, starter feature (that has its own missions, path to greatness, tickets, a shop, etc.), bp, 4 different banners to roll on, sensei, so on and so forth. My brain has been melting trying to keep up and when I do I level up which unlocks like 2 more different currencies, new tickets, missions, modes, (im just gonna stop) He explained the majority of the stupid amount of stuff concisely!
Thanks man. I've been contemplating whether to start this game or not. It felt really daunting to catch up with the current content. After watching this video, it feels more daunting than before lmao
it's nice to see how this game still going very strong after the years, even though really frustrating because how fast the meta changed, especially for a non spender like myself
My pro tip for new players: Always have your exp card on when completing rewards in Daily, Sensei menu, and Challenges. The exp card buffs the rewards too!
It's usually recommended not to use exp chips at all before L70, you want to level slowly so you have more time to build your valk army before you hit the more competitive tiers of Abyss and such. And especially after level 40 when APHO unlocks and you're doing two open worlds at once, you want to delay getting to 50 for ~2 weeks after you unlocked samsara at 35, so that you don't also unlock Shicksal HQ and have to deal with 3 open worlds at once.
@@JasonMerrillGCC true, but if you want to get all bonuses from starter campaign in 60 days you pretty much have to play every day or you risk missing out on some of the rewards
To complete path of greatness you need to get captain lvl 70 in under two months so you can augment drive kometa to four star, you also need to farm yamabuki armor fragments first to get her to ss. Magstorm is also a good option from the blade box cause its dps is as good as key of castigation for hot or dj. You get back 80 material for making the onyx scythe, full marco polo set and TM musician pieces from growth boost for the first time.

DUDE FINALLY SOMEONE DOES THIS VIDEO.... I've been playing for quite a while now, but I couldn't really enjoy cause it was overwhelming at first. THANKS DUDE!!!
I started playing 5 days ago, currently at captain lvl 32 and still confused about a lot of stuffs, I keep on coming back to this vid. to learn about stuffs. Hope to see an updated beginner guide
I checked this video when I returned to the game 1 week ago and I was suuuuuper lost. I got Phoenix and Black Nucleus from Dorm so I kept my account and later got super lucky and pulled HoT! This video now makes a lot of sense after playing the whole week and getting a glimpse of the stores and all that. Thank you for putting up this guide! It's been super useful!!
Yeah I think most of the navigating of the UI takes time to get used to for new players (Ppl familiar with gacha games would have an easier time), but honestly it's something that would be very boring to put in a guide. I dunno if I made the right choice XD
You helped me know what to do and how to avoid mistakes like leveling every valk and on which events, banners, stores, etc to pull and participate. If not, I would've wasted all my pulls on a single banner and missed HoT and such. The navigation is kind of crazy but it's super simple once you get used to it so I don't think a guide about that is needed hahaha Thank you!
Being new to this game and watching this guide makes me remember those times I went to a objective test and filled in any bullshit I could think of since I didn't know anything and that's what I did in the game. I watched the the complete video and it started making sense in the end. Nice guide i will understand more once I play.thanks Keebs.
Your advice about spending on land of wishes and openinh the S egg later is very good. I see too many people spending on land of wishes early when they can go for an early herscherr instead. Like you said filling in the gaps is best.
I really hope that this vid came out earlier during the Evangelion Collab Event because I was just pressing random keys when fighting and spending on useless things.
If you didn't understand anything you aren't alone. I suggest go into the game, try a bit of everything and go everywhere u can. After doing that you'll be hella confused but some stuff with stick to u. Then come back and rewatch this video cus it makes a lot of sense. It worked for me~
Brand new player here, thanks for the guide I played Honkai back in 2018 but my phone at that time couldn’t handle the game so I uninstalled it. I’ve played Genshin since launch and now I want to retry Honkai :)
BTW, for any of the newbies wondering why you shouldn't upgrade SA's evade skill and SP skill: the SP skill stuns enemies, which leads to a period of time where you can't evade. It ends runs because of this since you won't be able to proc a time fracture because of it. The evade skill on the other hand is very complicated and uses a technique called time fracture chaining. Keebs made a vid about this, so I'd suggest checking it out instead, but I'll still explain anyways. Fair warning though, this will be conplicated and long. Time fracture chaining is when a newly added time fracture inherits a old time fracture's length so that it chains and makes a longer time fracture. For an easier explanation, let's say you procced a 3 sec TF (time fracture). Now, let's say you wanted to chain it with a 1.5 sec TF. Firstly, the 1.5 sec TF, or chainer, must be in the 3 sec TF threshold, otherwise it won't chain. And second of all, the TF you'll be adding SHOULDN'T, as in, SHOULD NOT go beyond the current time fracture, or for the example's sake, the 3 second time fracture. This means that if you wanna chain the 3 sec TF and 1.5 sec TF, you'd have to proc the 1.5 sec TF halfway through or below to chain the 3 sec TF and 1.5 sec TF. If you successfully chained, the TF should last 5 sec instead of 3. This is because the 1.5 sec TF inherited the 3 sec TF's time, making it a 3 sec TF in return, and is then added to the TF length, which in simple terms, means 3 - 1.5 + 3 = 5 (since 1.5 is the chainer, simply subtract it from the current TF and that's how much time you have before a TF won't chain anymore, and I know it's 4.5 sec, but just bear with me here). *Edit:* BTW, to chain a TF, the chainer must be procced right before the current time fracture ends. This is the MOST important rule you need to know about TF chaining, and I felt like I didn't explain this that well, so I added this in to avoid some confusion. Now, what is all this in correlation to SA's evade skill? Well, you see, SA's evade skill leaves a circle which procs a TF. On max level, the TF lasts 2 seconds when procced. But, if left on level 1, the TF lasts 0.1 secs. This means that you have a MUCH MORE longer time to wait if you wanna chain it with a max level circle than a level 1 circle. This, in return, maximizes the TF length of the current time fracture, since you just have to step on the circle the moment the current TF is gonna end to chain it. Let's go back to my example. Since we wanna chain the 3 sec TF, on max level circle, you'd need to step on the circle 1 sec or below after the 3 sec TF is procced, since you have only a 1 sec window to chain it. BUT, with a level 1 circle, you have 2.9 sec worth of time before you can chain it. This makes many rotations less of a headache in MA (memorial arena) since TF chain in MA is extremely crucial if you want a good run. Leaving SA's evade skill, in simple terms, makes TF chaining SIGNIFICANTLY easier than when fully upgraded. In comparison to my example, a max level circle TF chain will lasts 4 sec, while a level 1 circle TF chain will lasts for 5.9 secs, significantly longer than when you have you it maxed. This is only relevant to those who want to tryhard MA, you still have the option to upgrade it if you want, we just generally encourage you not to because it might be usable for ya'lls later on. It's a tad bit too long, but I hope you guys understood anyways.
I'm happy that I learned pretty quickly and didn't spend too much crystals on dorm supply, only occasional pulls and cards because this log in event with yae sakura gives a lot of supply cards and there's a thing where your first 2 S rankers come after 25 pulls so yeah Edit: the ones I got were the Sixth Serenade and Vermilion Knight:Eclipse
The gold pins material event is also a good use of stamina, it works out to ~33 stamina for a fragment of SA/HB/Fischl, which is competitive with spending stamina on Expeditions.
2 min into the guide, don't spend diamonds on the discount dorm coupon etc etc..Shi**... Well anyways , every gacha I play I don't reroll ever, it leaves a bad aftertaste , like abandoning the girls who greets me first, to never be seen again
Bro, how can you gloss over about buying the time structure from coop and mithril shop (7 box in totals) , they are very essential. If new players see this they will missing out a lot of time structure. For new players... Time structure is for raid (reset) and mainly to get tasks for farming 5 stars weapons and stigmata.
It actually doesn't show up on the lvl 45 account I was using, as you can see in the video. I am not sure when those boxes show up but yes they are worth.
I started playing really recently and didn't understand half of the video, so I'm just not gonna do the things you said to not and pray for the best, thanks for trying to help people like me with this video tho!
Hello new Honkai player here 21 days into the game only. So for Dorm Supply they changed the pity (guaranteed S-rank) to two times 20 rolls. My friend who played the game for 3 years was also shocked when I told him this. He said it used to be 25, 50, 75 then the usual 100. So yah. 2 guaranteed S-rank in 40 pulls for new players (like me). Just tried Honkai when there's not a lot of content in Genshin at the moment. EDIT: might as well ask this cause he didn't elaborate but I want to know already since I've been watching alot of end game/competitive runs of Honkai anyways. Why let Whisperer's net stay at level 1? And don't get the 2nd special skill (which stuns enemy)? Thanks in advance to whoever will answer.
well there's already a comment saying why you shouldn't level up the skill but if you haven't seen it, it's because making the enemy stunned with the skill will make the enemy can't attack and that means you can't evade to get a time fracture and for a competitive player, every second counts
Actually saw this on a different device but had to come here to give the ceremonial thumbs up and comment. It was a very helpful video. I return to the gatcha.
It depends on your account. If your account has strong valkyries with top tier stigmatas + weapons (doesn't have to be gacha-only, but top tier foundry crafted) then yeah go ahead, just be mindful that the difficulty spike after level 70 captain / player level increases dramatically. Although, at around level 70 you are given the option to unlock the Augment Cores for some valkyries + unlocking the PRI-ARM craft ability. You need these because of the sheer difficulty above level 70 which is considered end-game at that point. Which also means those top-tier upgrade and crafting materials are unlocked and farmable for your account in order to upgrade your valkyries and their equipments. If you are F2P, it's okay to stay at Sinful or Agony Rank for Superstring Dimension / Abyss because you only need to score a total of 15,000 points to claim the juicy rewards. And for Memorial Arena, it's okay to defeat the bosses up to either A or S-rank. Because at SS-rank boss, the reward difference is either miniscule or non-existent. So in short, it all depends on how comfortable you are with the power of your account. Push for level 70 and beyond if you think your account is strong enough for the end-game contents (which are mostly Memorial Arena, Abyss / Superstring Dimension, and Blockade anyway). If not, then just play and level at your own pace. The most important thing is to focus on at least 6 of your core Valkyries first and have fun as well as take good care of them. You know they need your care after what they have been through 😂.

BRO I DIDNT GET NONE OF THAT IN 2015???
My brain has been melting trying to keep up and when I do I level up which unlocks like 2 more different currencies, new tickets, missions, modes, (im just gonna stop)
He explained the majority of the stupid amount of stuff concisely!
Thanks man. I've been contemplating whether to start this game or not. It felt really daunting to catch up with the current content. After watching this video, it feels more daunting than before lmao
as a new player watching this, I understood... that I already fcked up in a lot of ways XD
I NEEDED THIS IN MY LIFE THANK YOU SO MUCH, it's Kaslana proof for the most part thank you 😭😭
eyo UD. I thought Kaslana dont read guides lol.
it's nice to see how this game still going very strong after the years, even though really frustrating because how fast the meta changed, especially for a non spender like myself
I've been playing for 2 years and this vid made me realized that I haven't got the 2nd egg on the land of wishes lol 🤣
Me neither, dont really need it anyway not worth the crystals by now
good to know that I dont need them lmao
You get back 80 material for making the onyx scythe, full marco polo set and TM musician pieces from growth boost for the first time.
pov: holy shit i have new phone that can finally run this game
Me too..aswell as Genshin..but I'm high enough now I just gotta wait for resin to top up.. so I'm back to honkai..(I tried it first at an internet vacate, so couldn't take with.. starting fresh)
I can play genshin but the graphics not good so I play this instead
Keeb is really going all out with these videos! There's so many new players right now, this will be so helpful!
DUDE FINALLY SOMEONE DOES THIS VIDEO.... I've been playing for quite a while now, but I couldn't really enjoy cause it was overwhelming at first. THANKS DUDE!!!
Why am i watching this, i have been playing for 3 years
same. same

Same.
Me too. I mostly wanna be ready to spam this video to all the new players coming from genshin
🤣🤣
Cry for our days back then, Bruh new players are spoiled
Am i the only one who quit a long time ago and wants to come back but forgot the mechanics of the game? 🐸
Same lol I used to play this with my high school friend (not friend anymore, lost contact with him like years ago)
Thank God this got recommended, even being level 66 this helps stay on track
I need this like 3 years ago when i put some random stigmata on any valkryie
This is perfect for new wave of players in the game lately. Great vid Keebs!
I started playing 5 days ago, currently at captain lvl 32 and still confused about a lot of stuffs, I keep on coming back to this vid. to learn about stuffs. Hope to see an updated beginner guide
here's the biggest tip i can give to new players: Save

@@jonnevitu4979 hot just left
What do you mean
@@jonnevitu4979 save for HoS instead. Her banner is coming back in a few weeks and she's top tier
“Don’t pull for dorm” pulls a herrscher lmao
same i got herrscher of reason
@@cowgoesmoo696 well, at least it was cheaper cause 200 per pull compared to the featured banner which is 280 lol
I got memento sakura and was so happy but then saw how it's completely not viable and now I'm just sadge
Unless u have naraka and her stigs shes viable, she sucks without those.
Was herrscher is equal to Genshin 5 star or somethin? Still can't keep up with Honkai terms 🤣
Being new to this game and watching this guide makes me remember those times I went to a objective test and filled in any bullshit I could think of since I didn't know anything and that's what I did in the game.
I watched the the complete video and it started making sense in the end. Nice guide i will understand more once I play.thanks Keebs.
Keeby is feeding us with content rn
best beginner HI3 vid i have seen! Well done!
man I wish this existed when I started back in late 2020
thanks for the video, very informational!
there are some new things I learned from here too
Your advice about spending on land of wishes and openinh the S egg later is very good.

I want to understand but i dont dodge anyway because DK.
Amazing guide with so much information! I just started with the game so it will definitely be helpful! Thanks mate !
Me, a genshin ar 55 player: Hmm interesting.
ive been playing this game since 2018 but this is still such a great video!! i also sincerely appreciate the captions
I'm happy that I learned pretty quickly and didn't spend too much crystals on dorm supply, only occasional pulls and cards because this log in event with yae sakura gives a lot of supply cards and there's a thing where your first 2 S rankers come after 25 pulls so yeah
Edit: the ones I got were the Sixth Serenade and Vermilion Knight:Eclipse
Started a new account recently, got HOR on my second dorm multi.
Off to a good start
Oh boii.. Liked and subscribed ;D
The gold pins material event is also a good use of stamina, it works out to ~33 stamina for a fragment of SA/HB/Fischl, which is competitive with spending stamina on Expeditions.
Why your voice is soooo hypnotizing? Please do more videos...
Great guide, Keebster! Thank you!
BTW You're voice is so damn soothing & exceptionally Beautiful!! ❤️😭❤️
Thank you for the guide, I just started out 6 days ago and this was really helpful :D
I still remember back then when i open the S rank egg and picked BR, because i thought "big oppai means big power" lol.
....you're not wrong tho~
Man himeko was the ultimate tease. Best graphics worst results
Returning player here. Thanks for the guide 👍
‘Dont spend crystals on dorm supply.’
*Crying in probably 15k + gems already wasted ;-;*
I'd played 4years from now.. Keep up the good work for teaches new players 😁
2 min into the guide, don't spend diamonds on the discount dorm coupon etc etc..Shi**... Well anyways , every gacha I play I don't reroll ever, it leaves a bad aftertaste , like abandoning the girls who greets me first, to never be seen again
This video was super helpful, the game throws so much stuff at you from the start I just needed a little help getting started
Your voice very good, and this guide will very much help the new player
Take a rest Keeby.
Thanks mate it's useful
I don't know why I am watching this when I am not even playing Honkai Impact

How About Level ? Is it save to level up into 70 ?
I'm a new player but many people said its better to stay at level 55.
Why ?
I literally just started im glade I found this video not long after got off thanks for the tips man
bruh so many things to worry about ಥ_ಥ
Don't worry and just play it
i've heard a lot of good things about this video for honkai noobs, i've played this game for two years but i still decided to check this out

THANKS ALOT DUDE! before this i was lurking in different discords trying to figure out a path/structure in how to do my dailies/weeklies, piecing the info i get. This vid made it very clearn and i cropped out a piece of it to make a to-do list from. Keep up the good work!
Lv 85 captains : Ahh yes, nice tutorial
I felt like starting honkai, and then 3 minutes into the video i already forgot what i was suppose to do
Genshin: so here’s the game, here’s a bunch of characters that are debated by the fanbase to be the worst characters in the game, uh, good luck with summoning bye
Honkai: here have this, and this, and this, and even more of this, take like 100 more free summons and another 100 of them. Have fun. Don’t worry though once you are done, there’s more.
Edit: that said, just like Genshin and it’s resin system the Stamina system is just as maybe a bit more painful because it’s your only way of playing the game unlike Genshin
