Aye my mistake, I’d just ridden the new SA S which does and got them mixed up 🤦♂️ Either way, the Gen 3 SD R has way better suspension than this Speedy 1200 RS.
Been watching your channel from very early on but over the last 5/6 months the quality of the vids from content information and quality has become so good not that it wasn’t good before if you get me
Great video that covers all the bases! Smooth video transitions too 😊 I felt this model might be a bit too committed/sporty for my liking before I saw the reviews come in... thankfully I think I was right and I'm very happy with my chunky but funky R1250R 😁
This thing is awesome! Just the way it eats corners 🚀Got one myself in ice silver👌👌👌its just stunning the fit and finnish. Looked at the Sdr and the Tuono and just the value in this alone made me sign on the dotted line.
Mega review Pal! Great edit, and loved the new 360 camera footage. Amazing how stable the video is, even though it shakes around on the bars. Thanks for adding my name into the Clan credits. Happy to help in a small way, from over here 🇨🇦 . Keep doing your thing! Look forward to the Simon series. 🔝🎬🎥🆒👍🏻
Good review Bruce! I have fond memories of my original 885 Speed Triple and the ‘03 955 that I rode (spanked 😁) around the Canadian Rockies but that beast you just rode is in a completely different league! Looking forward to the vids with Simon Weir, sounds a great idea 👍
Totally agree on the heated grips Bruce. It could/should be classed as a safety item. Plus it's a premium priced product. Can not think of a car these days that doesn't come without a heated rear window!
Let’s face it most riders once they have set the suspension to their favourite setting that’s it. It’s no big deal if you want to firm it up for a track day or soften it up for the road. It’s Ohlins, it’s fully adjustable.
Thanks Bruce, I've ridden one myself and you're right about the suspension but the way that thing turns and holds a line is amazing. Would like to know if anyone has ridden it with the suspension softened up a bit asuming that's possible?

Great review Bruce! Looks an absolute weapon that bike. I guess the survey groups asked for fairly middle of the road paintschemes, pity. I have to say though, 15k for a bike and it doesn't come with heated grips as standard? C'mon!

Ktm 1290 Super Duke and Triumph Speed Triple 1200RS. I would appreciate it if you could let me know the features, pros and cons of each model. And which model would you choose?
Any chance you could describe the difference between this bike and an MT10? Is worth the switch? Also, I have heard that Triumph has started taming the stiffness of the suspension, if it was not so stiff would your opinion on this bike change?
I was so very interested in this bike when I heard the rumours, but it seems that they have taken all the bits that made the Speed Triple great and thrown them away... ok, that may be an exaggeration, but suspension focussed for track over road is a mistake in my mind, and with all the electronics fitted, they most definitely should have separated the wheelie control from the traction control. I also find the paint options a bit dull too... but then that is the same with all Triumph bikes currently, and has been the case for years with them. Ace to see you using a 360 camera again :-) Dover castle is incredible, brill day or two out to visit that and the other bits up there! :-)
You’ve nailed it there bud, pretty much every concern/complaint I have about this bike too. I’d take the old 1050 over this as a road bike definitely, but I wouldn’t kick one out of bed for farting 🤷♂️👍
Personally these days I think they’re all much the same now - the days of Honda and BMW being the pinnacles of workmanship are gone and I think most major manufacturers have fairly standard quality output (Aprilia, Ducati and KTM seeming to be noted exceptions sadly still). All bikes can have issues though and for me it’s how they’re dealt with by the dealerships and manufacture that count 🤷♂️ Modern Triumphs seem to have a good feel to them for sure, and I’ve not had a single issue on any I’ve had on test the last few years. I bought a 1200 Explorer back in 2014 and it was horrendous - proper Friday afternoon bike, but I think they’ve vastly improved now.
@@teapotone I would agree Bruce but I think Honda's build quality is not as good as it used to be. Please can you check your PM from Sue Opie sent 17th July. Thanks Tim 👍
They are being used more and more, either Hand Held, resting on a wing mirror of an unmarked car, or on a tripod with a video camera linked to it for the Video evidence quite often printing out a picture of an offending vehicle. These are usually accompanied by a unmarked car or van. The most common place to site the is on a motorway bridge, usually the small farm crossing bridges. They also have a tendency to site them on bridges in roadwork's, to blend in.
Yes my apologies, the 1200 IS lighter than the previous 1050. Triumph display the wet weight of the 1200 but weirdly only show the dry weight of the 1050?🤷♂️

I think you’ll find the weight has gone down quite a bit. You compared the dry weight of the old bike with the wet weight of the new one, Bruce

If it’s like the street, there are settings in the owners manual for comfort, road and track suspension
