Note: To avoid cracks, while the concrete project is drying, be careful not to expose it to the sun. It is better to cover it with a cloth to slow down the drying.

The ratio of concrete mixture :
2 cups Ordinary Portland Cement
+ 1 cup Sand
+ Water
I use acrylic paint and varnish after

I was devastated when my father gave away the mushrooms in his backyard (used to be his parents house and their mushrooms they bought YEARS before passing) when I had begged for them a few years ago. Thank You! I no longer care and can finally let them go and forgive and forget because I am making my own! So you did more than show me an awesome tutorial! I love it, I didn't think Id love the black when you applied it but it gave it a new vibe when you added it. Looks amazing. The only thing I would suggest is, add a coat of protective clear gloss to the final product so that the paint does not chip away in the rain. So cool I will try this.

Thank you for this tutorial. I love mushrooms and want a set for my garden. Love these mushrooms , and the directions are easy to follow. The added touch at the top of the stem is clever. Never see that on mushrooms sold in garden centers. Love that added touch. 👍

Very beautiful, thank you for sharing! I tried this method to create my mushrooms and encountered a problem with removing the stocking from the cement. Was there anything you did prior to adding cement to the stocking so that stocking would not stick to cement?

Use thick cotton fabric if you can .. I use paper tape for the circles on top

Oh my goodness that is so beautiful and such an easy Technique I just hope that I couldn’t get the water in the cement and make them look like mushrooms oh my goodness I know I said that about three times but I am so happy about this one

Your mushrooms would the most delicious to eat but if there are dots, it mean your mushrooms are poisonus....

Just make sure to wear a mask when sanding or being exposed to dry cement mix, it is hard fun when breathed in.
Hi this is great, I'm going to have a go . I have never used cement before. I notice when it dries out you are able to add more detail. Dose it dry to a point where it's almost like clay? As I notice on a fair house video u did it looked very easy to shape with hands xx

Most cement project I’ve made, I had to cover the project with plastic so it drys slowly. Do I have to do this?
I don't do this, just avoid exposing project directly to the sun..

These are vert Good - I make garden ornaments but always mix the cement with sharp sand - It makes them very strong. Cement only may crack in cold weather. I am going to make some of these - I like the colours you painted them - they look Great!

it's an acrylic paint. with protective varnish coats it can be water resistant..

What kind of socks do you use for base? I tried nylon knee highs and they stuck. Can I add a top coat of cement to cover?
