Hey Mike, I did this on my 06 Mini Cooper S project car. I followed everything you said. Heavenly results! AC was blowing 75 before project. Now it is in the low 20’s. You know your stuff and I’m very grateful for your helpful videos. All the best!
Awesome Greg! Thank you so much for watching and sharing your great results, we really appreciate it, have a fantastic week my friend. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Hello To Our Great Subscribers and a big thank you to Scott Walters for donating to our channel! This is a Sweet Project Cars SUPER HACK! Are you ready for summer? Nice work! Thank you for watching and sharing your results Mercurio, we really appreciate it, hope you have a great day my friend. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Good afternoon, a very welcome tip for cold ac. Another trick for pure isopropyl alcohol is to mix it 50-50 ratio with deionized water to remove static electricity on the surface of your car prior to painting. Unbelievable how well this works. I learned this trick from an engineer in an electronics assembly laboratory. They use this solution for dust free assembly of delicate components in electron microscopes. Hope this helps.
One of the tricks I learned from a AC professor at a college is to run a water hose over the condenser when filling the system with refrigerant. It increases the pressure drop and helps to draw more refrigerant into the system.
Overcharged ac units are just as bad as undercharged units. Metering devices are designed to allow a certain amount of pressure through and maintain a certain back pressure behind it. The trick of warming/cooling is used for evacuating or charging, by weight, a system. The reason why is you cool your reclaimer jug to decrease pressure in the jug, allowing refrigerant to more easily be pumped into it. The reverse is true when fresh charging a system. You heat the jug in the sun to increase pressure within the jug, allowing the refrigerant to flow faster into the system.
Amazing. This worked. Purchased the products and followed your directions. Removed my grill. My condenser and radiator had very few bent fins however straighten the ones that were bent. Sprayed the the 2 products as directed. Temperature from the vents dropped 8 degrees.
Sweeeeeeet project cars! Thanks for sharing us some of your wisdom. People forget that it takes many trial and errors until you find the best way to do things
Hey Mike i just did this ac cleaning to my house ac condenser outside. It really didn't look that dirty BUT man after your cleaning suggestion WOW is all I can say! Wife bringing home more windex so I can do the cars next. Thank you again for the amazing tips and tricks my friend!!!!!
Very good suggestion on the cleaning and maintenance of the ac Unit. You may want to take it with a huge grain of salt with the 2 to 3 times statement as that is misleading. Safer way to say it might be up to 2 times as cold as opposed to 2 to 3 times. This is something that anyone can do and yes it does help substantially.
You are welcome GasHauler! Thank you so much for watching and sharing, it's much appreciated, hope you have a fantastic day my friend, thanks for being a great subscriber. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Don’t make the mistake I did getting careless with the pressure washer cleaning everything in site. Took forever to straighten the fins out. Didn’t know they would bend over that easily. Good video.
That's why we suggest using this amzn.to/3lza8zV for this job, not too harsh because, yes, they do bend easily, Don. Thank you for watching and sharing, we really appreciate it, have a great week my friend. mad Mike the hammer SPC
I clean the condensers on my vehicles ever year before hot weather. I use another foaming coil cleaner than the one you have, I buy it at Johnston Supply. Gets plum nippily in the summer Also, this saves the compressor because it doesn't have to work as hard.
This is good info. thanks for the video. i normally use the water hose on the radiator and the condenser in my car but i will definitely try this out. Also, remember to change the cabin air filter aka "the forgotten air filter" A dirty cabin air filter blocks a huge amount of air flow passing through the air vents inside the car thus decreasing the air efficiency. Thanks again Mike!
Even though i don't have a truck but it maybe will help someone who had a big truck..very nice..or could you make a video for a car. It will help a lot of people..may god bless you my friend.
It's the exact same process Spozz, we did mention in the video how to deal with a condenser that is further in also. Thank you for watching, God bless you my friend. Have a fantastic weekend. mad Mike the hammer SPC
This is an excellent yearly DIY hack. Saves the cost of a new condenser & the associated costs of recharching your A/C System ... just by a little maintenance.
I learned in my domestic certificate 3 in aircon install and service to use white vinegar and let it sit. The Acetic acid kills mould, cleans up my transmission cooler as well. I rinse after about 15 minutes. It comes up spotless and I have to keep my aircon on and off in Australia. Unless it's 45 degrees Celsius? Lol. Then she goes flat stick. After hopping out of the car it's like walking into an oven. I'm going to dry this method. Cheers from Australia subbed and liked because I saw you using some awesome tricks. Cheers from Australia 🙂👍👍👍
Awesome video Mr. Mike! I had no idea of the fin combs. I've found that 2 stepping just about any cleaning or paint resto project really provides superior results. The other day I cleaned my greasy stove top off with Windex but even with modest effort I could easily see it left residue streaking behind. I followed it up with a clean microfiber and some Invisible Glass foaming spray and presto, it looked as clean as the day the range was delivered brand new!
Also clean any leaves built up over air intake vents in the plastic cowling base of your windscreen I check mine weekly also helps to keep the drain holes clear prevents blockage 👀✔
Just ordered everything, and also just wanted to add again that mag wheel polish for windows you guys has been insane it's been what like a year now I've done our entire fleet of 10 dump trucks every car we own the neighbors cars my friend's cars the windows on the house it's unreal how clear that glass gets just unreal I've even shared it on Facebook multiple times and told people
Thanks for sharing. I have been troubleshooting my 2005 GMC Sierra A/C because it is blowing hot. I guess I will take a gander at my A/C Condenser, but I think [I pray] I need a recharge. I removed the A/C Compressor Relay, inspected the four-(4) pin inserts, cleaned the corrosives with a file and sandpaper; used a copper wire as a jumper to connect #30 and #87 - I observed and heard the compressor clutch engage - I believe the relay is good; I also removed a couple of 10-amp fuses and one 25-amp fuse in the driver's side fuse box; cleaned the corrosives with sandpaper. I swapped my A/C Compressor Relay with the Horn Relay [same ratings]; the horn blared loudly even better. I visited a local parts store and purchased a Murray Climate Control 2 Terminal Pressure Switch $18.99 + tax to confirm or hope it resolves the air conditioning problem, but I was told I have a faulty a/c compressor clutch; priced and quoted a parts list to repair my air conditioning system in the truck ~ $500.00. I have not recharged my A/C since I was vacationing in Florida August 20, 2009 the dealership [Lee Pontiac-GMC Truck, Ft. Walton Beach] inspected the problem A/C Blows Hot on Driver Side Vents; they performed diagnostics, checked code B0408, B0418 R+R Dash Trim and Console; Solution - Replaced Right and Left Temp Actuators $263.57 each, Cost - Actuator's Cost 2 at $527.14 + Labor at $477.00 = $1004.14. I was covered with an extended warranty in 2009, but not today. WISH ME LUCK!

I have to work through the chemistry on this one- windex and ol’99, then what looks like oven cleaner (NaOH, sodium hydroxide). I have to get me some of those combs...
We recommend this amzn.to/2PsTil5 and these amzn.to/3eb1R1c Thank you so much for watching Gregory. Have a great day my friend. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Mr. Mike, thank you for the video. I watched it all the way through and I am unable to locate your parts list. I don't see the and more that you spoke of. How can I get your list. Thanks in advance.
This will work on any radiator, also, see our other videos on radiator cleaning. Thanks for watching and asking, have a great day. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Hi, being in Australia, I have never heard of Old 99. We have Windex so that is no issue. Old 99 would have to have an equivalent here. Thanks in Anticipation
Haha, I should have read all the comments before asking. Isopropol Alcohol. No problem. In my line of work(retired now) we use it however we are told to be careful not to put it on hot surfaces because it will change to phosgen (Nervegas) Spelling may be wrong.
It takes time and patience, but I've been known to use a flat head screwdriver, or even a pocket knife, to straighten those fins out. I've used the older style, metal, brush type straightener tools, and found them to not work too spiffy. I didn't know that those plastic ones existed; I may buy some. I'm familiar with foaming coil cleaner, too. When I worked in hotel maintenance, down in Orlando, I went through gallons of that stuff. The inside coils on the cold halves of the AC units got all kinds of nasty; green crap growing inside... bleh. The Windex and rubbing alcohol trick is a new one, though. I'll have to give that a try. I may try that on some other surfaces, too. Seems useful.
Absolutely man. It's almost no risk and even selling the service under the guise of reducing the pressure on the compressor to increase it's lifespan. You charge a reasonable amount, folks will totally go for it.
Mr. Mike, how often does this concoction need to be re-applied for optimal performance? once every two weeks? once a month? once a season? or is it one of those "it depends"? Thank you.
Hello qingdom, we recommend this process every season, or once a year. Thanks for watching and asking, we really appreciate it, have a great week my friend. mad Mike the hammer SPC
I would do the whole procedure the first time, then only the condenser for every other time you do the process. Thanks for watching and asking Kevin. Hope you have a great day. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Going to try this today on my Jeep my vents are blowing 70* and everything is the ac system is functioning properly but it just blows warm thought it was a blend door issue but I haven’t tried cleaning the coil yet and off-roading I collect a lot of debris so hopefully this helps I’ll update on a bit after and see if it makes a difference.
Should change the title to how turn your car into a refrigerator, awesome trick. Every time I watch your videos my mind is blown. If everyone watched your videos we wouldn't be having shortages of stuff. Secret spray to turn your used old toilet paper into NEW!

Great Video ! I was thinking when i seen you clean your truck Air Conditioning grill. Can you do the same process or technic to clean the Mini Split pump (House Air Conditioning) ? I guess the technicians needs to come clean the Air Conditioning - Split pumps every 2 years and after the air becomes super cold also. Would save lots of money if we can do it ourselves...

MORE refrigerant? The system only holds or needs so much. I wouldn't go around telling people this.

Very good suggestion on the cleaning and maintenance of the ac Unit. You may want to take it with a huge grain of salt with the 2 to 3 times statement as that is misleading. I have to work through the chemistry on this one- windex and ol’99, then what looks like oven cleaner (NaOH, sodium hydroxide).
I have to get me some of those combs...

Glad you got your answer Lance! Thank you for watching and asking, we appreciate it my friend. Have a great weekend. mad Mike the hammer SPC

W O W I’m so glad I found your channel. Thanks so much for sharing your vast DIY knowledge with the world.
You are so welcome! Thank you for watching and commenting, we truly appreciate it Adam. Hope you have a fantastic day. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Thank you for watching and sharing my friend. Have a great day. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Hahaha parental threats: I said watch every part of this video. Don't skip to the end. 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for watching jenny! Have a great day :) mad Mike the hammer SPC
Great video and great info Mike.
I wonder if offering that service as an optional package with detailing would be something that people would go for
Possibly! Thanks for watching George, we appreciate it my friend. Have a fantastic day. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Absolutely man. It's almost no risk and even selling the service under the guise of reducing the pressure on the compressor to increase it's lifespan. You charge a reasonable amount, folks will totally go for it.
I'm doing this on my window unit. Thanks!
Our pleasure my friend. Thank you for watching and sharing. Hope you have a great day. mad Mike the hammer SPC
For a newer car that is in the desert conditions do you think that just the condenser cleaner will be good enough or do the whole procedure?
I would do the whole procedure the first time, then only the condenser for every other time you do the process. Thanks for watching and asking Kevin. Hope you have a great day. mad Mike the hammer SPC
Going to try this today on my Jeep my vents are blowing 70* and everything is the ac system is functioning properly but it just blows warm thought it was a blend door issue but I haven’t tried cleaning the coil yet and off-roading I collect a lot of debris so hopefully this helps I’ll update on a bit after and see if it makes a difference.

You sure can my friend! Thanks for watching and asking, this works great on home air conditioners! Have a fantastic week. mad Mike the hammer SPC

An added trick to combing fins of any heat exchanger-
a spritz of silicone or WD-40 before combing will greatly
reduce and almost eliminate any drag.
