Four player online co-op I can just imagine it for this game. and your right they should make it so you could change the difficulty for stuff like that since not every likes things the same way :)
WILDBLAZE12 I know you posted this 8 months ago but you need to see this: blog.us.playstation.com/2015/07/07/gauntlet-slayer-edition-coming-to-ps4-this-summer/
Jake Stueckle Thats great, I hope they eventually make a remake of this Gauntlet for the ps4, its the one i grew up playing on the playstation :) But i can't wait for that one to come out too
An old story to tell. My little brother and I would farm the Dragon for hours to get gold quickly in order to prep us for the final mission at the Desecrated Temple. We would get like 80k, buy a TON of that silver invulnerability, LOTS of hammers and just raid the HELL out of that temple. Then we would make it to Scorn and F*ck him up without taking a single hit of damage. We literally kicked in his front door with sunglasses and silver bling. That poor Dragon though, we bullied it so badly that I'm sure its in therapy to this day.
I also kept farming the Dragon like 5 times. Mainly because the Legendary item use against him is founded easily and also the 3 way shot hidden in one of the pillars.
@@magnusvonbraun9870just started playing, figured this out playing as wizard. Was like okay it costs me 600 for invulnerable and I can buy speed shot and one more three way shot. What you do is grab the 3 ways shot right before you teleport out of boss fight and you get like 3k profit and hecka experience. I was able to get 999 on every stat in like 2 hours.
For anyone that doesn't know... to level up easily and quickly. Fight the spider queen over and over. Even at level 90 I was gaining 2 or 3 levels each time I fought her.
So hard to beat classic dungeon crawlers like this. I think the gaming industry really needs to start reflecting on how incredible some of these old games are and how genuinely interested a LOT of people would be to see them return. Nintendo released a gem in Mario Maker and they've re-released the old Pokemon games and they just completely blow up in sales. The old COD games that were gems unlike the newer ones are being re-released as well. There are a lot of opportunities for these games to come back to light as updated versions.
In the N64 version he's unlockable but obviously has no work put into him cuz he's identical to the jackal and has no other colors. Don't remember if he's in Dark Legacy tho.
You can actually make some of the fights even faster by affixing an amulet that gives the specific weaknesses of each boss in certain cases: Light Amulet for Lich and Wraith, Lightning Amulet for Plague Fiend, Acid Amulet for Spider Queen, Fire Amulet for Yeti, etc.
I remember the victorious feeling I got from defeating each of these guys. One of the best sounds in the game are those bells along with the music for each of the shards going into their place
i love the dream world so much, i always love doing that world the only down side is that damn boss, i hate his fight. My favorite boss fight in the entire game has to be the Dragon or Chimera
@@Vevvy Cool! I finished yesterday as a blue warrior. Just going through the good old games, played Darkwatch recently and now going to play Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance 1 & 2 another good past time.
The archer is by FAR the best character in the game. She's quick, has decent magic and when you use her turbo attack right on a gargoyle, jiggle the joystick right before it releases on them. I think it may be a glitch resetting the damage with each movement. If done right, it will one shot them!
You should do a run of Chimera where you run up to point blank range before the scimitar activates. Just don't stay there afterwards... It's different because it cuts the HP of all three heads by 1/3 instead of cutting off the middle one.
But the Thunder Hammer does next to no damage to bosses, and is terribly expensive to buy. 3-Way Shot and Invincibility give you far more bang for the buck. Supershot is also better at crowd control than against bosses. Buying 20 or so of them will make the armies in the Desecrated Temple and Underworld fall like dominoes.
derekmok Idunno, man. I generally settled into a pattern of grinding the Spider Queen(without the Bellows, mind), got some Hammers and saved some cash for stat-ups every time(roughly half on each). I also did something the player here didn't: I stuck to her sides, where all she does is lash out with her legs instead of moving around, using her whip and coughing up cobwebs. :p
I remember with my sister, we bought 9 potions and burst the crap of the spider queen so bad she was dead her life gauge wasn't empty. Farmed her like brutes.
I swear my game was buggy because the Scimitar of Decapitation NEVER worked for me and my brothers. The sword would spin around the lion's head, disappear, and we'd still be fighting 3 heads.
I remember playing this a few years back. Played the blue Wizard solo mostly because he learned he had a dragon familiar. Granted, I used the perks a there wth cause I didn't like that the Reaper could steal health and experience. What I didn't know was that the cheat also gave permanent limited levitation wings, making my Wizard an angel! Kinda appropriate that an angel would fight a demon and his armies.😀
Is it me, or is the Scimitar of Rasha a refrence to Diablo 2 with the legendary mage in the scimitar lore being Tal Rasha Also why couldn't boss health bars be on the gamecube in roms? My favorite boss was the Lich.
i think no health bar makes it more challenging and keeps you guessing. legend items not working makes it harder too but i think thats a glitch. if they dont work then y have them in the game
The GC version does NOT show boss health, flashes of white when you hit bosses, and the scimitar doesn't chop the head off. I just played it like a week ago lol.
Huh. That's funny. Last I checked, the PS2 and the Gamecube weren't one in the same. But hey, if you say the footage is from the gamecube version, despite the fact I've been playing the game since my childhood and know it doesn't have a health bar or unique animations for bosses when the Legendary Items are used, then who am I to talk about logic? Edit: Upon further investigation, it turns out that the video footage shown is actually of the PAL/European version of the game instead of the NTSC/North American copy of the game. In the PAL version, not only do bosses have health bars and the Legendary Items work as they're supposed to, but golems and gargoyles have their own health bars as well. The reason I confused this for the PS2 version is because it has the exact same features as the Gamecube PAL version.
DoctorViper I legit have been playing this game on GameCube all week and the health bars and white flashes are there. I honestly don't know what anyone is talking about. I've never heard of Game Cube not having the health bars for bosses and not having white flashes. I've only played Game Cube and it looks just like this. 🙄
This game is my childhood, not to mention the fact that I've been playing the game on Dolphin very recently. In the Gamecube version, bosses don't have health bars, they don't have individual limb hit registration, and the only thing the Ice Axe does is decrease the Dragon's health pool. Plus, I did my research by skimming through a PS2 longplay of the game which does, in fact, have the features shown in the video. Unless we're talking about a scenario where the NTSC version of the game had those features removed while the PAL version keeps them, I find your claim to be false.
DoctorViper Lol a paragraph to justify yourself? Riight. It's not that deep. This game is also my childhood. I've been playing this game since I was 5, I'm 18 now. But try again, lol.
DoctorViper But just to let you know, I have only played the Game cube version, and there is indeed hit registration on the limbs and the bosses do have health. How are you going to tell me I'm wrong when I'm legit playing it now? Have several seats please, thanks.
Well in all honesty they're mostly the same. The only real difference is that some heroes start with a stat that's higher than the others, but after you level up a few times it closes the gap pretty quick. And on top of that, you can buy stat points for gold so you can have max stats in pretty short order so you really should just pick your favorite hero and stick to it.
FrancisTheSoulBlade Yep. There are 2 I didn't include in this list because their weaknesses are wonky. There's Skorn, the evil demon guy and then after him is Garm. To be perfectly honest I'm not entirely sure what Skorn's weakness, "The Soul Savior" does when you fight him and it's not possible to fight him without collecting it anyway so it's not really the greatest weakness item ever.
