I've always been a fan of music that works like that, from Deadmau5's Strobe, to Autechre's discography to even more ambient stuff like Stars of the Lid, which soaks in more slowly.

Blender for all 3D animation and rendering, Davinci Resolve for stitching rendered segments together. Completed over roughly 6 months.
