True story....I was lighting designer/club operator in the early 2000's. Squarepushers' rider specified, no lighting other than strobes and smoke. So that's what I did. Lots of both, live op, busked right along with SP. The following week the club received an email complaining that the lightning was "too much", "violent" and that I should be fired for abusing the audience. I was so proud.

I have been a fan since 1998, in 2012 I fulfilled my dream and saw their show at Sonar Sao Paulo, in the front row and wearing a t-shirt with the logo made by me. I always return to Squarepusher, either for new features or trying to play some of their songs on drums without success. Years later I discovered that Squarepusher video game sounds bring back the same happiness I felt as a child, they activate very deep feelings that I thought were lost. Eternal thanks for that and for the incredible work, enormous respect from Montevideo, Uruguay.

Dude! I was there. It was such an amazing night. I love during the build up of a song during RDJ’s set and right as the drop hit it started raining and everyone went batshit crazy and danced even harder. His first set in YEARS… and it was here at D4N?! So random. I love that Squarepusher had the Ufabulum aesthetic going on with that sick mirror helmet and the TV static raising up all around him. Shame the guy running the D4N festival turned out to be a douchebag… it was an amazing couple years while it lasted, every line up was sick in its own way.

Squarepusher is one guy. He briefly performed with a full live band around the time you saw him live.
