This review helped me decide it was the perfect size for me. I've had my pan for a year or more and its fabulous and easy to clean. Its versatile and great for 1 person. I can stir fry, shallow fry, braise and bake if I want. I find steady medium heat is good for stir fry. Once the pan is at temp it will retain heat so for most cooking I turn it down to low. This is great if you make flatbreads on the stove. I tend to buy from stores with physical locations to make returning items easy. My pan came from Sur laTable on sale.

So, somehow this was perfect for me. The right size. More so because I only cook for two and do not do bulk cooking. I loved this one as it is a perfect cross between a wok and Indian Kadhai.

I just bought one of these from the Zwilling website for $90 USD!! It was on sale due to a blemish (doesn't effect performance/quality). I'm only using for myself so I see it becoming my daily driver for many meals to come.
I'm not sure I'd buy this if I had a family though, a dutch oven or braiser would probably be more appropriate for that.

I purchased the daily pan recently and it is indeed quite small. I have a family of 3 and it works for us. Still the same great quality for a Staub pan.

I get your point on the return label process. But you paying shipping is only fair. The fact that it wasn't something you wanted in the end is not the company's issue.

Yeah especially as these pans aren’t particularly light … they also put the measurements online , so you could have known

What is the brand of the perfect wok ?

    Hi Marc!
Just researching for the daily pan and come across this video. Thank you. By any chance you may have 24cm french oven (slight curved), could be nice to see comparing different sizes of woks / pan from their side profile.
Btw, not sure if you have 37cm wok. I love it!

I saw that pan too and I agree it was too small for me. For some people who make small meals, they love it. But I prefer something larger. I can see it as a great pan for a breakfast omelette. Maybe if it were $70 I'll buy it, but when I can get a 5 or 7qt cocotte for about $170, $150 is a bit too high.
Crazy about the return policy. When I purchased directly from them and I had an issue, return was very simple. I think it either had a return label in the box or a prepaid label was emailed to me. I wonder if that changed.

Please provide information as to where we can buy a new 7qt Staub cocotte for $170. Thanks

@@robertwalters8219 Zwilling is the parent company of Staub and they have "seconds' that you'd normally buy at a factory shop. Now, seconds could be a defect, but in most cases, it could have been an old box or display model. I own over 2 dozen Staub pieces and the only visible defect I had was in my first order where it was an over-spray. I've also had an issue with a pan not being super-flat (I have glass-top) and it was resolved by simply returning it All other orders have been perfect.
This is a great time to buy a Staub from Zwilling's site because it's a holiday weekend and they would have a sale. Right now, the 4qt are $119. I purchased mine for $99 so you may want to wait. A few months ago, I purchased several 7qt (not all for me) for $159. Be sure to check out that site during holiday weekends as they have better sales then. Let me know if you have other questions.

I just got my daily pan and it's a perfect size for me as I only cook for myself. My question is how to use it to do stir fry. The booklet says we should only use low to medium heat to cook. But Chinese style stir fry usually is a high heat type of cooking. Just wonder when you use your perfect wok to do stir fry, what heat levels do you usually set your stove on?

Medium heat can get the pot quite hot already as cast iron heats well

For a big company like Zwilling, it is surely silly not to include a free return label!!!

I feel like the design is similar to the lc saucier but it has the name of the lc sauté pan…aka daily pan. I skipped over this piece

You should always code your pans with Olive 🫒 Oil. Heat your pan up put some olive oil in the middle of the pan. Turn the stove off take pan and paper towels and swirl it all around the hot pan, make sure it’s not extremely wet with olive oil it is take more towels and go around again.

Just curious how much did they charge you for return shipping?

    • @chsulie
      @chsulie  2 ปีที่แล้ว

You had to pay shipping yourself at the post office. Luckily I was able to use my friend discounted business account. Ended up only paying $12 for fedex ground

I get the size , not being a good size for u and ur needs, thats understandable. But to say u expected it to be taller is a bit much... In my opinion anyway. It IS A FRYING PAN not another baiser. Im actually surprised at the height myself. But hay, to each there own i guess

I do not like their return policy so I don't purchase u less it outrages so I buy from stores like WS, Macy, Bloomingdales. In this day & age we can't see most things b4 we buy (which I hate) so buy & return are only options!
