This plant closed in 2006 I believe. I worked here until 2003. The water feeding into the plant feeds the water turbine to generate electricity. The holes in the floor were for #7 & #8 paper machine's. The raw water coming into the plant was from the race way up above. They used huge sand filter pits to process the water before it entered the plant. That water was used for the boilers and entire paper making process.
That big round ball was used to cook large ships rope with hot water and caustic solution o soften fibers to be recycled to make paper . During the ww11 women worked in sorting rooms to sort old khaki military clothes nd denim clothes to make paper they removed buttons and zippers . Some the they found bullets and other paraphernalia in the pockets
That tiled tank with the hole opening is a stock tank . And that round ball with the oval hole is a digester . I worked in a paper mill in spottswood nj for 26 years it closed Dec 2020 there are videos of it on the tube .
I worked there till about 2002 you are trespassing . Several years ago someone entered the plant to steal copper and was cutting an electric wire which was unknowingly alive and he was electrocuted and died
A guy i knew was electrocuted and killed there trying to steal copper from that onsite power plant. He was killed on January 1st 2007 and was reported missing, but he wasn't found until days later by friends searching for him.

This place looks really awesome. Was actually planning on exploring that place here soon and get some pictures of the place. What's the best place to park? By the hiking trails and walk through the woods to it?
I was planning on going here to take a handful of photos with another explorer. I heard from one person there's like all this security/ cameras etc. But any videos I've found (including yours) seems like it's more or less okay if you're being careful. Am I right about that?
Right on, I have not come across any cameras on my trip but than again I missed out on the office building area there since it was getting really dark but its always good to double check your surroundings
@@jameslong2618 I just went there today. I saw what looked like a camera with a truck next to it. We went in the back way. We took two steps in before we heard a vehicle coming up behind us. We decided not to take a chance and left. But this video makes me want to try again sometime!
Hi! Awesome video. I was there today with a friend. How did you guys get in? What is the safest way/where did you park your car? Would help a lot thanks!! Could also dm on Instagram @briellebabeee appreciate it!!
