In this exciting episode of Tin Soldier Tuesday, Jason sits down with the legendary Limpy, a cornerstone of the street racing and arm drop racing scenes. Limpy, known for his humility and unparalleled impact, shares stories from his early days flagging races in the mid-'80s to the evolution of street racing today.
One highlight of our conversation is a thrilling recount of one of the closest races he’s ever flagged, so close it had to be run back even with cameras at the finish line! This recent hot topic mirrors an event at War In The Woods last weekend, showcasing just how intense and unpredictable street racing can be.
Tune in to hear Limpy's favorite races, tracks, and the incredible moments that have defined his storied career. Don't miss this deep dive into the world of street racing with the man often imitated but never duplicated.

This is why I like Limpy, he and I are observers and collectors of information. What a really smart and interesting guy!
In limpy we trust
Great podcast with a great guy that is real as can be. You automatically have to like a guy like Limpy👍👍
The following he has created in the no prep street / racing world plus The fact the idea of street outlaws was really based off limpy .This man has breathed more life than I think he even realizes and is accredited for .the godfather of street racing , no prep , back of the track I’m sure track owners and the corporate racing industry can’t deny drag racing itself was downward trending from viewership at events to the racers showing up until street racing an no prep hit the scene local tracks are reopening stands are full and the ole fuckers who knocked us for street racing as kids want in on the action…In other words this man has done more to save drag racing on every level then the companies that make millions from it unknowingly without intention just from his passion for the sport everyone that’s watches this video owes this man a thank you wether your in the seat or watchin on your feet
I’m a carpenter but I identify as a street racer. Y’all are the best!!

Im an auto parts salesman, and im in the same boat as y'all!

Limpy has made a big wave in the no prep world. Thank you sir for doing what you do.
LIMPY THE GOAT 🐐 💪 we will never have another LIMPY
As my grandfather always said, "better to look stupid than open your mouth and sound it"...
In basic, it's better to be the quiet observer in the corner always learning, than be the loud mouth that is usually causing problems like a know it all dumbass...
Love that this interview happened, outside of limpys own pod nowadays, very little was heard about him, good to hear some of the more personal things about him...
Big love from down under to both Chris and TSR ❤🇦🇺
"Oh boy" - Limpy 💪

What a great podcast I love what Jason does and the man always smiles what a great guy thx Jason!!!
Limpy is the Goat. I’m excited for this video. I grew up watching my dad street race a 55 Gasser,327,M22 4spd, 5:13 rear gear. I’m Limpy’s age and live in Southeastern Indiana. We traveled all over as a kid with Dad racing that 55. We flat towed the race car with a 55 Nomad. I slept in the front seat and mom and dad slept in the back of the station wagon. We raced Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia and Tennessee. We would do the track racing on Friday night and Saturday evening. Then we hit all the street racing on the way home. I remember pulling into the farm on Monday morning when the son was coming up and dad had to leave for work. In 1978 I was 10yrs old. I remember dad telling me to unhook the tow bar and pull the 55 210 2 door post in the shop. And yes we made over 500hp with a 327. Our spare motor and transmission was in the 55 Nomad. We pulled the race car with a 500hp SBC in a red 55 Nomad. Our 55 210 Post car had a Straight axle. True Gasser. I started Street Racing in 1983. Dad wanted me to race at Edgewater or Thornhill. But my light weight Mustang made me a lot more money on the street. I ran a tricked out SBC M22 in my Mustang N/A.Dad knew some oiling tricks, and rod clearance, valve springs. I raced on the street in my for a year before anyone knew I had a Chevy engine. In 1983 a 500hp SBC was unheard of. Dad had a whole pile of 283,327 engine. Dad showed me how to take a 283 and 327 to make a high RPM 302. I was turning 8,500 RPM’s. I ran a big 60lb truck flywheel. Every shift my car jumped 2-3 foot forward. Super lightweight old school Mustang. We drilled 2-3 in holes in the frame. No back seat, two aluminum bomber seats. Single hoop roll cage . No enter fender. Trunk metal was cut out. Fiberglass bumpers from a swap meet. I believe my Mustang was under 2,000lbs without me in it.
Much respect Limpy. Him and I was from the same generation. In High School I made more money street racing. I didn’t have a job in high school. Just farm work and street racing.
This is the best to watch with limpy on here
What's up much ❤ good ol limpy he is OG for sure
I remember back the late 80s and early 90's doing some street race
Limpy is da man, just keeps it real.
Humble and Funny.
Great interview dude 👍
You hear street racing, you think LIMPY‼️💯% THE BEST IN THE BUSINESS (PERIOD)💯%
Limpy is also funny as shit and quick witted.
It's funny because Chief himself has said nobody does it better than limpy.
The backlighting got Limpy looking like Jesus
As he should be. 🙏🏻
Jesus gives you the opportunity, to cross the pearly gates.
That's why we "leave on the light"
Do everything right,
And go to the next round.
As god intended 🫡
Limpy doing God's work😊
#Limpy for Saint hood👍
The kingman spot is a real OG spot I’ve been there
AWESOME POD CAST!!! FROM THE PAD !!
Your podcasts just keep getting better. Can't wait to see Charlie racing and winning. Stay safe
Thank you 🤘
I loved when LIMPY was doing TBTs with street racing with the first mobile phone camera which was very bad but its part of the whole story about LIMPY and the racers who are still around today...LIMPY is and always will be the CASHDAYS RACEMASTER and others may try but never be the OG DFWSS CASHDAYS WHICH REALLY KICKED LEGAL STREET RACING OFF IN THE MAINSTREAM AND THE RESPECT FROM EVERYONE INVITED TO A LIMPY RACE WAS LIKE BEEN REGIGNOISED FOR THE LONG NIGHTS TRASHING ON THERE CARS AND I BELIEVE THE BEST DECISION MADE WHEN CHIEF WAS RACEMASTER IN 405 WAS EACH DRIVER HAS TO HAVE FULL ROLL CAGE AND IN CAR EXTINGUISHERS WHICH MANY ON THE LIST DIDN'T AGREE...LOOKING BACK THAT SAVED DRIVERS AND 100% NEEDED BECAUSE THEY WERE GETTING FASTER AND FASTER....
One of src best videos when limpy stayed there and was part of the family.
Do believe went to Michigan got the dart?
I have been saying this since day one and that is limpy is the godfather of the street. A true legend. He is the reason the 405 is what is is.
Limpy for president
Limpy sounds like a very nice man
Another great one as always racing has came so far over the years and I've always been a no electronics guy no power adders so I guess that's why I'm so crazy about 60s and 70s drag racing and think I would fit in better with nostalgic racing like the gassers I've never owned anything with a transbrake in fact I'm having one of my turbo 400s built with a brake .I've never owned a nitrous kit or a turbo I would love to have a procharger set up on my big block. I was always a 4 speed guy I loved shifting the car. I'm in it for the fun not to try to be the fastest. I'm fine with a 9.90 to 10.50 car and I know that's not fast but back in the late 70s it was a decent time to run. So I'll just enjoy what I like and be happy with that. So my plan is I will be retiring in 3 years and my plan is to build a period correct gasser and enjoy the heck out of that great video guys.
Thanks for the kind words! We totally get the appeal of nostalgic racing there’s something really cool about the simplicity and raw power of those 60s and 70s cars. Building a period correct gasser sounds like an awesome plan for your retirement. It’s all about having fun and enjoying the ride, not just chasing the fastest times. Good luck with the build, and keep us posted we’d love to see that gasser when it’s done! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Man I got chills when he brought you Forum, now those were the good ole days, I'm glad I was able to experience that road before the speed bumps. I feel bad for the guys that live to compete in a cash days and didn't get the chance to race that road.
Limpy is the goat✅ awesome episode 🤜🏼🤛🏼
Banger as always boys 🔥
Yeah that's a good dude right there first time meeting him was at tecas truck jam. He pointed out something we didn't see that could of cost us a race. Much respect!

Limpy the goat!
The Man, The Myth, The Legend
Nice to have Limpy there .Chris Collins,I wonder why he's called Limpy. Is it because of his being the flag, the light. The tree? Now see why so many love the man. He's just so down to earth easy going about why he did what he did. I'm sure someone will write a song about him.
You like the mystery of the underground aspect of it. You have your contacts send out a location and race and go home in the dark of night. Like a rave, don't know till the last minute.
Limp is plain og lol here in Texas I'm 58 he has Ben the best to outher #1 I raced Houston San Antonio some dfw .used to be 81-90 straight street then mud drags now back to streets here. No prep.
Lompy is a legend!
Awesome interview great content 👍
Much appreciated
Man I was sitting in the background it was amazing
Thanks guys...for the great content
Glad you enjoy it!
I've seen this guy everywhere, had to research him. When it's inyour blood you'll always find a way to keep it going

Humble, this is the ONLY EXPLANATION.
Hell yeah
the utah track has used well casing pipe for gaurd rails
I figured that’s what it actually was when he said it because that stuffs laying everywhere out there
Racing street is great if head count stays down 😂
Come check out Salem Motorsports Park in Indiana. Its a good no prep track and could use some more ppl.
Church after this episode 😂
Great job getting limpyvto talk
50:55 if for some reason anyone ever wondered if racer safety is a priority for limpy here’s your answer the man is happy that his favorite spot got destroyed due to cars are so fast now and he’s aware people would still try if it hadn’t
greatly enjoyed it ...I would change history.. thatz the way ot was.. con' kite...oh so she' ated pRess☆ '°°%
Bofem💪😎💪
Can't wait to find out I won Charlie's deck lid
I would rather be in the ditch with Limpy than with some asshole that doesn't love racing. There are few that can be true racers, we get along and compete with each other then go sit down and eat a meal together. There is no hate, just healthy competition. there is no better feeling than that!
Limpy should open a youtube channel and just upload POVs of his races and stuff
The Git Down 👏🦾
"I see dead people" 😄
💪😎
1:09:05 wish he could keep one his hand grenades together long enough to make some money and get him a billet motor so he’d quit having to run at 200% every pass
Houston never gets the credit for what they brought to the street race scene over all the year safe and okc followed what we did here in the late 90s
❤
🏅
👍 For Limpy.
