I’m surprised you didn’t mention the anniversary models from 1993 in ROW and the run out of 247 C4 widebodys for the 94 model year. I’ve had one for 21 years now and it still looks showroom fresh! Good show though thanks a lot!
What I've heard from Porsche is if the 969 project proceeded & succeeded, it would've been the first 90's car to have a DCT gearbox. A DCT in the 90's would be insane. 🤯 P.S. If I had disgusting amounts of money, I would get the 964 Carrera RS 3.8 & 964 Turbo 3.3 S Leicthbau.
Mine is triple black, I have it for many years now, it shows lots of wear and high mileage from first ownership - but runs well and looks great with black 996 wheels and some modifications.
I was waiting to see which was the best to buy. I've got a 91 c2. It has definitely grown on me over the years. It has been a very reliable and fun car to drive too.
Hi Jay, just wonder how many 964 C4 were made ? we can't find the exact number. We own a 1992 Horizon Blue with only 17,800 Km since new, we keep the car completely original. Its a family treasure and . The value for the car is unmeasureble it was my fathers last Porsche. WE LOVE IT !! Thanks for the great info
If Porsche finally released a limited run of 969 969's based on the original plans and bodywork, but using modern engine management, gearbox, suspension & brakes. That would be a mega collectable car!
JAY READ agreed. Can see the level of research you’re putting into each of these. With my content I’m trying to balance the to-camera stuff with useful info and nice B- roll.
B roll is hard when you are one person because it makes it difficult to get exterior shots of a moving vehicle. Defo need to camera shots. As you say, it’s a balancing act. I also don’t want to niche down too quickly because I think one thing is boring for the audience so I am still experimenting to see what people want i.e. documentary, reviews, comedy, magazine style, just Porsche etc.
Absolutely brilliant video! Thanks very much for sharing! As a 192 964 Carrera 2 owner I have to agree that the 964 is one beautiful car and one of my favourite 911's. 🙂
Thank you very much. The aim wasn’t to point out which one I think its the best but rather to explain the range and inform viewers in an entertaining way so that they know which one is best for them. They are all so different and so the one I think is best probably won’t be the one you’d buy. Does that make sense? I hope so! Thanks again!
its insane what people are paying for this car. it has to be the least best lookng porsche and no where near as beautiful as the previous G series and no where near as rare. The 76,77 911 Carrera 3.0 only has 3000 made in both coupe and targa. the 74,75 2.7 non RS carreras are also very rare. i hope people dont live to regret the insane prices theyre paying for these 964 which had over 60,000 made in all variants!
The 964 generation had the lowest production numbers. It retains the original 911 shape while having modern tech such as power steering, springs, and AWD. Singer says they’re the best of all 911s. They’re also the last 911s assembled by hand and built in West Germany. There’s a lot going for them, and they’re more attractive than the G & 993 (except the Turbo) to many eyes.
In my opinion I would take a 1994 964 3.6. All the turbo models are rare where I am from abd to one it’s a rare gem
Stirs the soul of anyone who loves driving.
Turbo 3.6 with sport seats and speedline wheels.
Very insightful, and I never heard of the 969, until you mentioned it in the video.
Thank you!

…the Jubilee Edition & C4 Lightweight.
Great video, I love the 964. What about the 30th anniversary 964? I believe it was a widebody but with no wing and the standard carrera 2 engine?
Thanks! Yes, that model made the chart!
I have a Red 30th anniversary 964 Carrera 4.
Very well done, thank you. One of the best summaries I’ve found. I have a 2020 992 and just began my 964 search.
You’re welcome! Glad you enjoyed it!
I’d also recommend Nathan Merz’s 964 video.

I’d like disguising amounts of money. I’d probably still buy cars like I’ve got though!
Enjoyed the info. I had an RS America...drove like a truck in the real world...but was fun on the track.
My everyday car is a slightly shabby 964 C4 and I'm grateful 🙏
I love cars that have a bit of patina. They are the coolest ones.
Mine is triple black, I have it for many years now, it shows lots of wear and high mileage from first ownership - but runs well and looks great with black 996 wheels and some modifications.
Have you guys had to do an engine rebuild?
Great video. There was also a 964 C4 Lightweight. 22 examples were produced.
Thank you!
The rarest of the bunch
The coolest of them all. C4s can’t get no respect.
Thanks for the great video , quick question is the manual gearbox of 964 turbo version is exact the same as Carrera ?
I was waiting to see which was the best to buy. I've got a 91 c2. It has definitely grown on me over the years. It has been a very reliable and fun car to drive too.

20,395! Hope that helps!
How much is a 964 Carrera 2 in normal conditions in Europe today?
I have a 1994 Wide body Carrera 4 Turbo look that I have been told there were about 250 made have had it just about 21 years now.
WOW! I’d love to see that! Nice car!

Good thinking!
Great video! Would you have info on how many 964 Carrera 4 Targa were made each year?
Thanks! Sorry. This type of info is REALLY hard to find!
Best 964 - anything from Ruf👍
Great Vid Jay. Watched it start to end. Really great info on my favourite (I'm biased) 911. Subscribed.
It’s good to be biased! Thanks a lot for the lovely feedback. More to come!
JAY READ will keep an eye out. It’s a hustle pumping out content constantly right?
It is if you want to put out something interesting and not just stream of consciousness vlogging. It’s fun though. A great distraction.

Glad you liked it! They are pretty!
What's the deal with some of the 964 having square side mirrors and the others not?
Flags or Aeros! I think the early ones came with Flags and the later cars with Aeros. I might be wrong though!
@@JAYREAD When I was very young I remember seeing on TV a silver 1991 911 964 w/ flags and I told myself I want that car. I can't find it. Lol
What abuot the carrera 4 turbo look coupes?
Ah you might be right.
Let’s not forget the 964 Carrera 4 Lightweight, my favorite 911 of all time!
Very good presentation indeed, appreciate your informative analysis. But you did specify which is the best to buy ?

I owned a 91 C4 manual. Wish I never sold it
Get another one, Jimmy!
Sometimes I think about what else i could buy if I sold my C4 manual but I just love driving it too much.
I have a black 91 C4 manual. Not planning to ever sell.

Agreed. I think that the Porsche market is one where the people in it can talk each other into paying pretty much anything!
