    If you get into ball pythons all it is is about dominate and recessive genes, the snake will remain the same unlike a dog we’re you can have a range of different breeds of dogs, the snake will remain the same but the focous is to change the patterns and colors, depending on the combination you can make big $ and recessive genes are most valuable, I just wanted to watch this for fun to see how dogs and snakes may be similar

      @@azcardinalds2360wouldn’t that be the same then? If dog colour and snake colour are both down to dominant and recessive genes and the recessives are the valuable genes whats the difference? There’s diff snake breeds?

    • @azcardinalds2360
      @azcardinalds2360 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@user-en2tk2tw4v one difference is a female dog can breed at a year old maybe less and a ball python female must be atleast 3 years old in order to be sexually mature enough to breed making it longer and less of a supply making the value higher, you also have an average of about 8 eggs and who knows what you will get, based on the combination of genes is the value of your snake

    You shouldnt treat body type the same way as coat color
    Coat color is a monogenetic trait or charater most of the times.
    Body size, in the other hand, is always a polygenetic trait.
    Inheritance works really different between both characters. So predicting the outcome is not as easy with polygenetic characters.

    Body type can be locked in with proper line breeding. Don’t need to confuse yourself with genes to lock in physical features.

      Is mother and son ok ?

    • @houndhunter4106
      @houndhunter4106 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@dantegreen7642typically mother to son is ok, but you want to make sure not to keep the breeding program too tight. So if you breed mother to son, breed one of those pups to an outcross or to a more distant relative. Line breeding is awesome but if not done correctly you end up with a lot of different possible issues.

  • @ChinsawBULLS
    @ChinsawBULLS ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It is true what you say bro… but body type is determined by many polygenes, that means its not as simple as knowing which are dominant and which are recessive, cause there are so many genes there, more than 1000, which some can be dominant and some recessive, and there is no precise way to know it. Also the way they interact between the same polygenes can be influenced and modified by some “random” genes that are present in both parents, that can affect expression or the way they express on the phenotype.
    So the only way to know it for sure, is to breed the same two dogs many times together, so you can really notice wich traits the puppies inherit the most and which were less common.
    Or in a more realistic manner, you could study the progenies of a stud that has a lot of productions and see what traits they inherit the most from their sire.
    That could give you a helpfull lead but, it is not as certain as one may think, cause the way the sire polygenes interact with the dam’s, could vary a whole lot from bitch to bitch. Thats the downside about polygenic trais, such as body composition, dog size, head shape and size, etc, you can only breed them true before many generations of inbreeding (minumum 12). Its not something to be worried about since two great dogs will always produce great puppies, but if you want to add a trait that the dogs of your program lack of, it could take some time to add it permanently (lock it).

    • @aritor.1125
      @aritor.1125 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You must be catching it too early or too late . Remember litter size is not on how good the semen is. Litter size depends on you doing pg testing. And getting her ovulation date right. When she ovulates is when her eggs fall and then that’s when you want to do an a.I because when the eggs fall is when the semen needs to be injected so the semen can catch the eggs . Remember. Pg pg pg . Don’t miss her ovulating day. That’s what matters. That’s when she’s most fertile just like a female . Catch too late. And than. Little litter. Too early. Little litter.

    I'm busy creating my own dog breed for protection purposes, I've bred my apbt female with a male gsd and took a female out of the litter that looks mostly like the gsd , I'm planning to cross breed her with a rottweiler than I want to take two with the gsd head shape,the reason for that is that I want a wolf like head shape on this dog,then I'll breed that cross with a boerboel for size and mass but after that it becomes a little confusing,because the plan is to create copies of the same dog but you can't inbreed them for the risk of health issues.

      @user-en2tk2tw4v 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You say for protection purposes but every reason you have given for each breeding is purely aesthetic. If you have no experience breeding why you fookin about with dogs? You can safely lock in traits using aunties to nephews or cousins if you outcross every now and then. Safer than direct inbreeding if you’re worried about that. Wouldn’t be too worried in your first gen when your mixing complete different breeds.

    Not gonna lie bro this is good information but you need to look into embarking dogs and looking at the coi (coefficient of inbreeding ) goin whatever dog has the high coi is going to dominate the litter thats how simple it can be to get your desired look with good genetic testing
