Wonderful! For so many young ones, Buddhism and Tao is a first taste of the spiritual. It led me to Church and to the monastery. Because the Tao needs a face, the personal, the Great Other:, the repentance, humility and otherness of Christ.

The function of the eastern philosophies is to see clearly through yin motion, unbinding, to attain and maintain pure awareness. This is a process of purification of perception, to see accurately, inwardly. The eastern traditions have discovered certain natural laws that have allowed one to unbind from cultural conditionings. The western philosophies have not discovered these natural laws that lead to unbinding of conditioning.
The non-western, non-eastern, non-philosophy…. the natural law that, after seeing clearly through yin motion (Luke 17:33), leads to seeing clearly through the yang motion, is the words of The Creator of this experience.
The words of The King are the path to perception that produces Kingdom Citizenship.
The yin freedom is the product of natural laws, complimented by the yang product of natural laws, a process of purification of perception, to see accurately, outwardly. (John 8:31,32)

Maybe you're talking about Chinese Union Version aka和合本,it's as classical and famous as the English KJV.This version was the first using 道 to translate logos.

I bet Philo was called a "Conspiracy theorist" in his day, but man that's impressive that he made that connection. Fascinating stuff. Great job bridging the gap between Stoicism and Daoism with Christianity! And even though EMJ might miss the mark slightly on Theology, his breakdown of Logos was paramount for so many people to discover the Truth. Judge a tree by its fruits!

I consider "The Sunflower" by St. John of Tobolsk to be the stoicism counterpart to Christ the Eternal Tao.

How can you keep getting better? Shhhh.... the secret is God. 😉
Interesting when I first read the Bible front to back in my 20’s I realized that the basic pattern was yes/no. Do this/ don’t do that. So basic and simple. I gave myself over to God at that point “logically”. And went through the predictable, if unique to me, logical development and insight. But I only just last year gave my heart over to God. And as we know that’s where ones connection to God begins for real. Things start to get sealed.
    Glory to God. 😍

Learning a lot from your channel brother. I’m slowly dipping my toes into Orthodoxy. Though hesitant on some concepts and practices but I’m definitely intrigued. Keep up the good work and God bless you in your studies!

Great video. 49:00, I believe the church of the East was not considered heretical at that time, 4th to 8th century. Hence St Isaac the Syrian. Only later, did their Nestorianism metastasize, I believe.

My understanding of Confucius is he would have himself been a kind of Daoist, upholding the Dao as the ultimate principle. The difference between Laozi and Confucius would therefore merely be spiritual vs practical. The Commandments would probably line up with Confucianism wel
