  • Thanks to everyone for the feedback from my latest Dillon XL750 Casefeed issue. I believe we have found the cause of the backwards case. I also have another quick tip for you guys in regards to primer system.

    So glad I watched the follow up video. I had just purchased a case feeder for loading 9mm when I saw the first video and thought I made a huge mistake😅

    Hello and greetings from Kanab Utah. I am about to purchase the XL-750 with a case feeder. Your problem allowed everyone to understand how the design of the sorting plate orients the cases in their upright and necessary position. Because the plate was elevated just enough due to the spacer being installed, it would not allow the case to fall out of the sorting plate as it proceeds up at an angle when rotating. The height of the sorting plate is critical to this function because it relies on gravity. The heavy bottom end of the case will not stay in the sorting hole/slot if it is bottom up and rotating upward at an angle. I found this entire problem/issue to be relevant because it explains the design of the sorting mechanism well. Thank you for all your efforts. Respectfully, Utah Mike.

    Great tips Squatch, before I started buying parts to upgrade my 650 I did the same thing with a 556/223 case to stop case feeding. Hope the family is well. Thanks for sharing Brother

    Awesome troubleshooting and note-taking. Not to mention a great update to your xl750 review it rounds it out nicely. I was ordering my xl 750 this morning and all the Dillon case feeder pistol plates are out of stock :-( Thanks again for the update video.

    It has to go under the tree for now though
    Merry Christmas and thanks again

    I could not get 300 blackout cases to feed with the small rifle case feed plate I had been using for the 223s I was loading. It was my first change over with the small rifle feed plate. It would feed, almost half the cases backwards. When I installed the small pistol case feed plate with the spacer washer it fed the 300 blackout 100% but slowly. Hope this helps the next guy trying this!

      @SquatchReloaded  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use the small rifle plate and adjust the slide at the top of the casefeeder and it works flawless.

      @@SquatchReloaded Dillon recommends using the large pistol plate with two washers added on the bottom but you have to buy screws for it because the original screws are not long enough with two washers.There are no adjustments on the 1050 case feeder that I’m using so I have to use the small plate and a washer because my large plate is used on another 1050 I leave set up for 45 auto talk to you later.

    Question: I just got a replacement case feeder from Dillon, my old one used the square white insert when reloading 9mm. Dillon send me a black funnel which they say I need for 9mm, but I notice that you are not using it, and have no issue with 9mm cases. Have you ever run it (the black funnel) in your machine?

  • @edwardasmus2600
    @edwardasmus2600 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    The problem I'm having is that the 300 blackout cases are feeding upside down way too much. It appears the slot in the case feeder plate it too long for the 300 blackout. It works just fine with 223 so it must be the 300 does not like the extra length of the slot.

    • @SquatchReloaded
      @SquatchReloaded  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you adjust the deflector at the top of the casefeeder the 300 feed just fine

    So DO NOT use the spacer washer with the casefeeder when loading 9mm cases is what you are saying? I just bought a Casefeeder.

    • @SquatchReloaded
      @SquatchReloaded  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That’s right DO NOT use it. It is for long cartridges like 30 carbine

    Just pull the spring off of the bottom of the primer slide bar to temporarily disable it.

    • @SquatchReloaded
      @SquatchReloaded  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I run so many calibers I don’t think I would do it on my 750. If I ever get to the point where I would need a bullet feeder I would probably look into an automated set up

    I blame this issue on Dillon. They do a very poor job IMHO of educating the owners of their presses.

      That’s pretty much why I do what so do. I have probably reloaded more rounds on a Dillon press then Dillon. Lol
