Can't even imagine the feeling our veterans had when they came back home after fighting the terrible battles and then sailing into NY HARBOR and seeing that statue of liberty 🗽

They, which included my father, had a hell of a run for 60 plus years. Including some great baseball and bowling and beer….h, and lung cancer….but still

If you think about it, this is 1946. These soldiers had time wait to come back home. They were with brothers who all had been through similar things. I bet that helps with ptsd. Mordern wars aren't like that anymore. I'm sure they have systems, but not like that.

0:10 I love to here the USS South Dakota mentioned. I live in Sioux Falls, SD, where we have a 1:1 scale model of the ship in a park.

Coming home from WW2, let the most 'indulgent' version of Anchors Away the world has ever known be played! The version in this video is quite fitting!

Welcome home and God bless to every man and father who went to fight for the future. For every family, community, and the way of life here, thank you from the bottom of my heart and soul for preserving our freedom, liberty, and the right to the American dream. And I continue to celebrate along with my American Family to celebrate Veterans Day, Patriots Month, 4th of July, and every national holiday dedicated to the heroes who fought for our beautiful country. Even as I write this, I feel more tears of joy knowing that I was born in such a beautiful country with heroes who live now and in the past. Knowing that our soldiers now, still stand unwavering against evil and the unjust world. Like our founding father's, let us make man free. While God is watching on. God bless our heroes and God bless America.

Such beautiful ships which at one point sailed under their own propulsion… and what are they now? Sunk in the ocean or sold for scrap.. so sad to see these beautiful vessels meet such an untimely death rather than be preserved and upheld like the Iowa Missouri New Jersey Wisconsin North Carolina South Dakota and the oldest of the bunch Texas herself. We had pride as a country at one time

QUESTION, DID THE NAVY USED TO HAVE SHIPS STATIONED IN NEW YORK? I CANT FIND ANYTHING THAT SHOWS THOSE SHIPS BEING STATIONED THERE IN NYC WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE BROOKLYN NAVY YARD. IM JUST TRYING TO PUT THE PIECES TOGETHER. OR DID THE NAVY JUST DOCK SHIPS AT THE PIERS IN MANHATTAN?

What depictions of America, warships? Statues of Libertys? Golden Gate Bridges? The only American thing depicted in this video that died since 1946 is the American control of the Panama Canal.

this is so beautiful but shows why the us military machine is what it is. the us military relies on nato and japan to refine their technology. the US machine pumps out more war machines than every country combines in the world. Its up to NATO to refine it
