moving here for college. ive been planning since elementry school im absoulutely inlove with LA and i cant wait until i turn 18 cause all my colloeges choices are there im so EXCITED .
I was born in LA moved to NY for 15 years moved back to cali and now live in ATL GA I still miss Cali but I visit every year. I hope to move back some day when life will allow.

I've lived in Los Angeles all my life and I can truly say that despite the earthquakes (which don't happen that often... I've only experienced 4 in my 20 years of life) and the "ghettos" ( which city doesn't have at least one?) I love it with all my heart. So many cultures, languages, tolerance (hopefully more in the years to come) and creative souls fill this city. I've been to NYC also, and I loved it just as much, but Los Angeles has been and always will be home :)
I've lived most of my life in LA, and moved out here to West Texas when I was 20 years old. Now at 30, I've grown tired and home sick. One thing is for sure - once I'm done with school, I will definitely go back to my home. To where I feel happy and content with life. LA may not be a perfect city, but it sure is home for many people - even people that weren't born there but fell in love with LA.

This vid makes me home sick. I was born and raised in Downtown LA. So much has happened there since I left 10 years ago - it's become more dense, gentrified, and energetic. This vid is a few years old. There already new high rise condos, hotels, and business. Also people don't realize that LA is not centralized. It has two other districts with skyscrapers: Century City (not a real city but a neighborhood) and Westwood where all the high rise condos are located along Wilshire Blvd. I miss it.

For those not familiar with LA, City Hall Building is at top right at :10, and from 1:10 going out at 2:35. That was tallest from 1928-1968, I believe. The downtown has arisen since. What's amazing is a nigh flight into this place from the ocean, where you see nothing but blackness, then all these lights as far as you can. To me, we take it for granted, but it's the power of the second largest city in the Nation. Be happy Angelenos, even though the smog and traffic we curse!

Amazing vid with the cars coursing through the freeways like blood in the veins.We can appreciate the differences in American cities. NY is not LA and vice versa. I've always been amazed at NY skyline and her concentration of massive skyscrapers. LA, I'm amazed at her spread which metro from Simi to the "Y" of 405 & 5 must be 80-100 miles.The freedom of this city is music pumping, windows down and driving a freeway, when it moves of course! D.C. is also beautiful.

@damb83 Well SF is much smaller than LA, but more relaxed in my opinion. Everyones super nice and friendly here. I've been to LA a few times, it's pretty fun and exciting. Usually sunny and warm. SF is cloudy a lot, but when the weathers nice its beautiful.
Very soothing! The cars look like blood coursing through a living body, so to speak. Best way to see a LA freeway is from this vantage. Ever wonder where everyone is going and who these people are? Whether you like or dislike LA, I find her sprawl amazing. Nice 110 Harbor view through the downtown canyon. I still think the most beautiful building in Los Angeles is The City Hall Building, whichwas the tallest for forty years. Beautiful lit crown at night. Flying into LAX at night is awesome too.

@damb83 I have spent time in both and San Francisco is way more of a mixing pot...LA is more Shallow and 90mph.
Idk why people say Los Angeles is super expensive? I think anywhere in America is just as expensive you waste money where ever you're at any way? You just got to pick a city where you can afford the home not all homes in L.A are expensive like Malibu and it's a great place to have fun and visit many shops.
