First off, great video I really appreciate the in depth comparison across all the models, it really helps make an informed choice. I also want ed to ask if you could you by any chance recap for me the ranking of how roomy the toe box of each model is with the overall size (length) held constant?
I have the 5’s and 6’s, and I still find myself reaching for the 5’s more often. They fit like a glove. With the 6’s I’m constantly pulling rocks out of the treads which is a pain.
If you're destroying the heels on your barefoot shoes your gait is wrong. You're heel striking too much and wearing through them. Most of the wear should be towards the balls of the feet. Mine have lasted multiple years including wearing them at a job where I was walking for hours every day. And I'm over 90kg. The sole on the 6 has probably 1/3rd of the durability of the 3 so avoid wearing it on pavement as much as you can.
@@CptAngelADVlogs It's mostly because of the gravel on the roads after winters before they sweep it out. It makes it a lot worse and the other one while worn was still fine. The 6s have a way thicker sole so we'll see how it goes
i love outlook of 5th gen, without this clown toe bumper, so you can use it in city for casual wear.....i wish merrell do more such styles.. they have great fit in their barefoot line, but too much technical look
I wear 46 in the fives. would you say the sizing of the six is similar to the five (in length)? im not happy with the size (they are a little too long) but im not sure if I go down in size because 45 is the next available size and maybe too small? I only wear them in dry conditions at the gym so look and durability of the outsile is not an issue to me. PS: the threes were amazing (I had the original non lether version) with even more space in the forefoot. but the upper wasn't very durable.
45 το 46 is actually a half size their EU sizing is weird. Check their size chart. I just got the VG6 in 46 and it's great. Length is similar between 5 and 6. Maaybe the 6 is a bit shorter but it's hard to tell with the toeguard. Try 45 if 46 is too long for you. They're wider than the 5 anyway.
@@CptAngelADVlogs thanks for your reply. though I was wrong. found out I have the 4 not the 5. so the 3 and 4 were a little too long in size 46 (but never tried em in 45). and in my local hiking store they have the 6 on discount but only in sizes up to 45. PS: didn't like the upper and overall shape of the 5
@@fidru The 6 is similar to the 4 in fit but it feels a bit shorter because of the heel collar that pushes your foot to the front a bit. You can try 45 it will either be slightly small or perfect.

3 is the widest, then the 4, then 6, then 5 which is barely wider than a regular wide sports shoe.

My vapor glove 3s didn't last me a full year lmao. Left one wore all the way through from the heel. Just ordered the 6s, hopefully they last longer

Yeah if they could keep the VG5 style but make it wider they would be amazing.

I love my vaporglove 5s. They make want to move like nothing else. At least you acknowledge the superior traction, so still respect you.
Try the VG6 you'll probably love them even more. They're even more light and flexible.
