    I just started watching TH-cam videos on pottery hand building in the last week after doing hand building for several years and I seem to keep coming back to your videos for you vast amount of information that I definitely need. I also love listening to your pleasant voice and beautiful accent!! I am watching from New Mexico USA, I’m a Texan of 57 years before I moved here 6 1/2 years ago and fell in love with pottery!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge!!

    I love your approach to handles, Sarah! I am now on a new mission to find ribbed butter pats. :0) You have inspired me to make a "Fossil Mug" for my 93 yr old father! Perfect Father's Day gift. If I can't find a ribbed butter pat, I will find a way to improvise. Love your Tip Top Tuesdays! Hope all is well with your students back in the studio. Bet you are very busy!
    Thanks for the inspiration; take care, and looking forward to your next Tip Top Tuesday!

    Another great demonstration - thank you. I love the texture ideas you gave. My only suggestion is that the camera cut off the top of the demonstration a bit at times and also it played sideways…that could have possibly been my iPad though. Look forward to the next Top Tip Tuesday. What brand underglazes do you like? Those colors are very bold and bright & look really pretty. 🌸🌺🌻

    • @thepotterycorner
      @thepotterycorner  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Natalie- thanks for commenting. You're right the camera changed the angle without my realising. Very annoying as it takes forever to set up, record, edit and upload these videos. I know this one is not my best unfortunately. I use the underglaze medium (which is uncoloured) produced by Jane Scott Ceramics in Wiltshire and make my own colours from high fire pigments. Hope that helps 🙏

    Hi from NZ :) is the clay you use for the handle the same as the slip? Does it matter if the handle clay is different to the casting slip?

    • @thepotterycorner
      @thepotterycorner  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Alyson and thanks for watching from across the other side of the world 🌎. I use my usual stoneware clay body for the handles. It is a white body but not exactly the same colour as the casting slip. I haven't had any issues with cracking handles or anything. I suppose to be a purest you could dry some of the casting slip and then form handles from this but seems a lot of work for no benefit. Hope that helps 😄

    Just one question ... who or what is Blue Peter? “True Blue Peter style” gets me every time.

    • @thepotterycorner
      @thepotterycorner  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      😂 Blue Peter is an educational childrens programme which has been on the TV here in the UK since I was a small child (and before) and is still running today. They used to make projects and have the things made in stages as they went along and would say "and here's one I made earlier" when they brought out the next stage. It's a bit of a saying in England - have a look on TH-cam th-cam.com/video/CTnKEqEvqNM/w-d-xo.html - magic 90's video - great hair and great clothes - hilarious!!
