Disagree on the Eleanor thing. There's a reason Flint is her partner, because he wants to change Nassau. Vane wants Nassau to be the same, so he could never be her partner no matter how much he wants that. He wants to keep pirating, looting, murdering and raping and that's not the future she has for this place. As for being in control, Flint is her partner and she doesn't control Flint. Flint goes to meetings with her and it's never about anyone submitting to any one else. We've seen both her and Flint give way when they agree or disagree on things, that's just mutual respect and shared vision. Only Vane thinks it's about submitting.
Max is being petty. What revenge on Eleanor? Eleanor was the one who got her out. Those pearls that Silver gave to them in order to lure the men to the wrecks to make the plan work, Eleanor is the one who gave it to them and it was her plan. So she took great risk to help get Max out, AFTER Max already turned down her help once. All Eleanor did to her was not want to run away with her. And now she's also screwing over Jack and Anne in the process. As for Silver, he's not exactly helping for Flint's sake. If Flint dies, he's as good as dead. Eleanor won't keep her word to protect him if Flint ends up dead and the crew would just kill him for his involvement in the incident. He's helping Flint for his own survival but, at least he's being honest about his intentions however self serving they may be.
Max doesn't know that Eleanor was at all involved in the plan to get her out. And that's not all Eleanor did. Eleanor also made it clear that she would have let Max get beaten for information back in episode two of the first season. That's a big part of the betrayal. Because you can't promise to protect someone after you've also tacitly admitted you'd let people beat them for information.
@@Lady_Yunalesca Eleanor didn't "make it clear". Why make up something just to dislike the character. Max is the one who suggested that and then she quickly gave up the answer. And even if she did, so what? Did we not just see Flint Kill Gates or Vane had his men r&pe Max. We've seen these men do far worse, yet I don't see the same judgement.
@@gemelwalters2942 I don’t dislike Eleanor? She’s actually one of my favorites. I was just explaining Max’s perspective because I also love her character. And in turn the fact that Eleanor would have been willing to let that happen *is* a facet of her character, and ignoring that does her a disservice.
John Silver has ever only been interested in his own survival.
