Love this - I'm with you, there's way to little exploration of overdrive / dirt / fuzz, etc stuff with drums and synths online. I'd definitely love more of this kind of material!
I contacted ASM and they never replied sadly. I think it'd be fun, but it's not on my personal wishlist and I'm trying not to prioritise 'buying things for content' over stuff I actually want for my own enjoyment.
Just commented on your previous distortion post, now I see this one. Nice distortions indeed with subtle controls! But it looks like its mono-only (without the Zoia). Have been using the Source Audio LA-Lady with some synths, it also has fuzz-algos and stereo-options (and an editor for endless tweaking).
Digital distortion is not the same as analog. Personally I don't think their is any reason to get a digital hardware distortion when you get get a more flexible software distortion with the same or better audio quality for much cheaper.
YOOO d-brute time! (was thinking about selling mine- but i got it for like $70 off cause guitar center exists... and it sounds sick with my uhhh Rocktron Cyborg pedal.) thanks for reading my blog- tips encouraged! (i mean money)
When I get back to making videos I really wanna do pedal demos with synths....we need more pedal demos with synths... although my playing sucks and I know haters will hate, but YOLO.
Great video! I just picked up a dist and I am getting a Korg opsix tomorrow, so this answers a lot of questions for me.That led voice really bounced. Hardware question: with what cable did you connect to the dist from the synth. Good show!
I don't understand it either. Website says "specifically designed to work with keys, synths" … but stereo synths have been around for some 50 years now. Looks like that news hasn't reached Valco 😫
Since it's an all analogue circuit, I'm pretty sure that making this stereo would require double the amount of circuitry and parts inside and adding various routing options, resulting in a much steeper price point (check out the pricing on Elektron's "Analog Heat" for comparison). A good work-around which I'm using is to route the distorted synth output into a mono-to-stereo effect like a chorus or phaser with subtle settings (I'm using a Dimension D and Moog Phaser respectively). Still not true processing of a possible stereo output on your synth, but stereo outputs on synths are overrated anyway ;)
Totally unrelated to this video, but have you seen you've been mentioned on Sonic TALK today? Very well deserved and kudos! th-cam.com/video/pwph0bbW6IM/w-d-xo.html
I would probably acquire this unit if I didn’t have the Moog MF-Drive. This one is definitely a contender in comparison. Great post!
Feature wise this is the distortion I’ve been looking for!

Wow, this sounds amazing! Somehow complete missed it, glad I found your video.
Excellent stuff, thanks
I don't know how I thought it was only on sale in USA, sounds good, very interested. On a minor point, it looks amazing
I gasped when I got it out of the box. It looks and feels bomb proof. The switches are wonderfully weighty too.
That distortion on the drum machines is straight up Trent Reznor/Justin Broadrick nastiness. Absolutely disgusting in the most beautiful ways
Amen to that. Beautifully disgusting is a whole vibe.
That's a good tone. I'd be interested to hear how their other pedals sound with synths.
Love distorted drum machines. Drives me crazy a stereo dist pedal is so uncommon.
Sounds really good, but I think I like it best on the drum machine.
I desperately want thissss
This was super useful. Thank you.
It looks so cool.
Great video as always!
Would love it if you got your hands on a hydrasynth
I feel like you could easily do a whole series on it

@@OscillatorSink right on, completely understandable. Love your videos just wish our gear list lined up more lol
I think the dry/wet fader is really nice. It's a shame that it doesn't have stereo though, panned drums from my Rytm would be nice through this.
Distortion from KGB! Like it!))
With all the recent opsix hype with the huge sale you should do another video on it! A lot of people got in on that sale.

Sounds very great!
Are there voices in the background from the piano sample or is it picking up radio signals?
Yeah that's all in the samples (it's a few stacked together), no bonus radio here!
nice!

Thanks! The cable in this case is just a normal TR quarter inch instrument cable.
See if they'll send you one of the fuzzes for demo.
I'll make some enquiries. I'd love to explore the Bloodbuzz with synths.
If somebody already has a RAT would you say this is worth the price tag, or no?
If you had a Rat and were planning on keeping the Rat then probably not, but as an upgrade, probably yeah, it does give you some more options.
35:00 is the pedal picking up radio stations or is that in the original sample?
That's the original sample.
Only wish it could parallel process a stereo signal. Any other recommendations?
Analog Heat is the obvious, but more expensive and much more power option. At the other end, the EHX Operation Overlord has a dry blend control.
would of bought this in an instant if it weren't mono. so bummed.
Bummer that it isn't stereo...even though it says it's for keyboards.
Only mono and 300 bucks... hmmmm dunno.
Get a rocktek vibrator and turn it into a distortion fuzz hybrid....sounds killer
Mackie cr1604. Original, not the vlz crap.
Mono? Pointless.

Stereo is just two mono signals. Hello?? Hello??
Talk 2 much
No one is forcing you to watch.

Oh nice! Someone had mentioned it but I hadn't got up to it yet, so thanks for the timestamp!!
