I really appreciate this man. I got into welding last year and got my certs, but just bombarded with options like structural, unions, going solo. It’s allot to over think so I really appreciate your information and experience!

You got it boss!! It is absolutely my pleasure! Okay, I wasn’t sure if you were implying the best route to become a welder as a “new welder” or best path for a “new welder (certified)” to take. In either case, I will make videos on all of the above instances. This way folks in either scenario can benefit from this question. I assume you are certified in structural steel? Stick, wire, or both? Are you licensed as well? Any other certs, qualifications, and/or experience? If you want, I can go over your situation in a video, or if you want I can answer your question more privately in my DMs on Instagram. If you want the private option, my Instagram is @weldincowboy which is the exact same handle as the TH-cam channel. If you don’t want to say your specific situation, I do completely respect your privacy and understand. I was in the exact same situation of not knowing what route to take, all I knew was I really enjoyed welding and I had the certifications. It is a lot to take in so I know exactly what you mean about it being a lot to take in and over think. I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have as I will answer them to the best of my ability. Thank you for your comment and your support of the channel!!

I really appreciate this again. I am certified tig/mig and construction. From. A community college, we studied welding cutting and blueprints and fab stuff. I currently have a year of field experience. And 6 months for school. I did 6 months of production small welds in a warehouse and now currently building bucket trucks from scratch to finish. I’m very willing to continue learning and trying new routes. I like welding huge stuff but aswell as I love tig aluminum and stainless. I don’t know if I should just look for another job with tig, or join a union like sheet metal or something. Or just stay where I’m at till something else pops up

@@Ejs226 My pleasure boss!! All of that sounds great! Sounds like a really good foundation for sure. There are many routes that can be looked at from your position. First and foremost, I will always recommend that folks take the path that makes them the happiest, not the path that makes them the most money. In your case, you said you love TIG aluminum and stainless steel as well as huge stuff. This is actually a very good example to make a video on. Most new welders think TIG and MIG projects are solely small projects and that Stick and Flux guys get all the large projects. While that is partly true, there is a decent amount of work for MIG and TIG guys on large projects. I do not know the area that you plan work in but there are food processing plants and factories with food products all over the country that have lots of equipment that can only be serviced with MIG and TIG processes. Granted it will not pay the same as working for an Aerospace Defense Contractor, but it can be a very nice job with good benefits. With your permission, I would be more than happy to create a video going over as many options and ideas as I can with as much of an unbiased viewpoint as possible along with my own personal opinion. If you would like for me to list pros and cons to different routes only in the comments here and not in a video, I would be happy to do that for you if you prefer that route. Again, I respect your privacy. One note I would like to make that I have added to other responses I have made similar to the ones I have made to you is this: As much as the areas I can point out, types of jobs I can list, pros and cons, and personal opinion, I cannot make a decision for you in the best route for you to take. Every person is different and the only person that knows what would be best for you and what makes you happy is you. I will for sure do my best to lay everything I can think of out on the table for you to analyze with as much fairness as possible and I will also add personal preferences from myself and experiences I recall from fellow welders I know. I'm here to try and help as much as I can.

@@Ejs226 sounds great boss!! I am not sure if I will be able to get the video made within a week or two but I will definitely try for sooner that that. It will definitely be one of the next ones I make. There are some other videos already made that are just needing to be edited before being published so I don’t want it to seem as though I am just pushing it off. I will for sure work on it when I can and hopefully it will be very soon! Thank you for your patience and your support of my channel!! I really appreciate it!!
