THIS gift from YOU'REGONNALOVETOMORROW is why I keep coming back to TH-cam every night. I had seen SWEENEY TODD early in its run and I experienced it with wonder and admiration. Then, when Dorothy Loudon and George Hearn came into the show, I was smart enough to go back and see it again. This second time I experienced the show with totally wicked enchantment. I put Dorothy Loudon's performance in SWEENEY right up there with Alexis Smith in FOLLIES, Donna Murphy in HELLO, DOLLY!, and Patricia Routledge in 1600 PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE. Thank you for giving us this clip! It's a dream come true. It's too bad that there are two minor little audio glitches but why should I let a small technical matter bother me when DOROTHY is here, working her magic?
Dorothy gives the right amount of madness, I think she gets forgotten about as Mrs Lovett but I think she's just as good, makes me wish she had done Getting Married Today from Company
One of the great Broadway artists who left us far too soon. And never fully acknowledged for the fine artist she was.
Possibly one of the most underestimated GREAT performers of all time. An eccentric artist with huge talent.
Love her!
So true, I agree completely!
This is so great, and oh that brilliant Stephen Sondheim!

She's so different! I love me some Dame Lansbury but the late great Ms. Loudon is much more subtle. Warm. Kinda makes me tear up. Touching.
@@chocolatesouljah Have you seen the bootleg it's quite interesting with her choices in the final scene.
@@oliver91ist Wow! I had no idea. Right now I'm watching her "Worst Pies in London." Love it!
There’s a bootleg of Dorothy’s Mrs Lovett???
Merv Griffin show from 1980
What is this from? I mean it’s only piano and no costumes. Talk show? Thx!
She was so great! Thank you so much!
