I love knarr. Got it same time as vaalbara. Only issue I have is they should have made 4 tracks on the board for tracking reputation. Oh and the colour choices while fitting are fucking stupid. Both form over function.
I am very grateful for videos like this. Quick, punchy reviews of games that aren't in the hotness and pique my interest. Finally decided to subscribe. I have played a couple of games of Faraway and really liked it. Both games went very differently which makes for great replayability. Love that you can go for a high risk, big score or play a for a more reliable score. Good mix of strategy and tactics, with little downtime which gives you a lot of game in a small box. The game has a South American theme, but seems to be set in some mythical world. EDIT: FFS, right now only Faraway is available in Australia. Castle Combo is likely to arrive soon, but no word on 2022's Vaalbara or the very recent Kronologic series.
Love Vaalbara's art! Love smallbox games for bring-it-anytime practicality and environmental friendliness reasons. I also love Dragon's Hoard, and humbly recommend the fun The Mind and Hanabi and the little bit thinky Fallen Angels for those who like co-op games; other than those, Biblios! Sunset over Water is sweet for those who like a relaxed game and can even be played solo; on the other hand, Fluxx is zany but still good😂 I tried Flip City but too math-y for my brain😢 and I believe each of Dominion series (which is nice) could be a smallbox game. Would like to try Megaland sometime! Hope some of these titles could be good recommendation for BG Bollocks people everywhere.
I bought Vaalbara some time ago, mainly because it looked decent and I needed something to add to my order to get free shipping😂 Well, turned out its a excellent little game. For us it felt like a "Libertalia light". It scratches a similar itch, yet its shorter, simpler, but nonetheless very entertaining.
Splendor duel, colossus (French solo game damn near impossible to find), Macaron (trick taking betting game), surfasaurus max, thief’s market, air land and sea, elawa, oh my goods…. Haha I couldn’t pick 4. Honorable mention is flickfleet - damn good dext space game from uk
@@BoardGameBollocks Bought it for roughly the same the expansions were print on demand though. Like the other things FF and GW made it's crazy expensive.
I don't know if you always have said, "We don't do unboxings" but I love that you don't. I don't get unboxings. I don't understand why anyone wants to watch anyone else unbox a game. If you backed it or plan to buy it, wouldn't you prefer to experience that for the first time? Do these people like all their movies spoiled? Are content creators desperate for content? I'll never understand that and I appreciate that you don't do them. Out of principle.
@@BoardGameBollocks Yea it’s kind of just meh stuff. That said, if I would ever want to see someone open up a board game and display all its contents, you’d be the guy I’d ask for. Anyway, I dig your stuff and your vibe. Keep it up man. I really like your channel.
"small box banger" is what my ex-girlfriend calls me these days
Speak for yourself, son…
😂😂😂😂
'Ey, yo..? 🤨
That's worrying 🤔
My wife is 4' 11", so she is the small box banger in our relationship.
Nice list. Knarr is my favourite new small box game. Great, quick, viking themed engine builder with awesome art
Knarr is amazing, great fun.

On my shelf of shame… you guys are making me want to table it.

Love Faraway! Rare for a game to be a great thinker and play so quickly.
I’ll second that - great game. I am bloody terrible at it though.
Excellent! The first 3 are on my shelf. I look forward to checking into the 4th. Thanks.
Great list. Was already tempted by all 4 of these but think you've sold me on getting them
I had Zero interest in Faraway but that art is stellar and since it was on your list I will look into it more.
You should check out Courtisans. Neat game.
We have reviewed it. It’s superb.

Forgot to mention Welcome to... series and Port Royal. Both fun!

This isn’t a best list…just 4 games I played recently that were excellent
@@BoardGameBollocks buddy, you had a hellova list. I enjoyed it.
I just got Marabunta which is a new game from Knizia in a snall box and it is fantastic.
neat choice, vaalbara and castle combo are fun.. they are quite underrated
Banger after banger after banger after banger.... 😊
I would also humbly suggest District Noir, Parade, and Sea Salt and Paper.
Thank you
Four of mine would be Hanamikoji, Walking in Burrano, Isle of Trains and Innovation.
It’s not the best 4 small box games, just some random games I played recently 👍🏻
@@BoardGameBollockswell your finger's certainly on the pulse as both Valbara and Faraway have been good sellers for me.
Just bought faraway 😁
Only cost me £15 with delivery new. Bargain.
Good video
Talkin' up small boxes...
Oh wait. Sorry I'm logged into the wrong account.
Lobster Tube?
Disappointed by the lack of sausages
Vegan mate
🎶 Daddy, would you like some sausage? Daddy, would you like some sausages? 🎶
A little hoarse, Matt?
Sword swallowing course…
I Liked the set a watch Series and Space Hulk Death Angel a lot. Sadly the latter costs a kidney + 2/3 of your liver with expansions.
I have it. Cost £15 as I remember. It’s quality.
Wish I had a copy, too.

We used to but they sucked so we stopped
