A handful of things to add to your review (that aren't really covered by anyone):
    - All pushbutton-start Subaru's (not just Outbacks) have the ability to set a tailgate/boot access PIN code that can be set to unlock the car without the keys.
    - The tailgate PIN button can also lock the car.
    - The headlights are steering responsive and have Adaptive Driving Beam (similar to Matrix headlights) where slivers of highbeam can be blocked to prevent blinding onvoming vehicles, but whilst keeping the rest of the road illuminated.
    - You can do a form of poor-man's launch control if you enable Adaptive Cruise Mode, set a high speed limit, eg: 100kph, place the car in HOLD mode (as though you were at a set of lights), set SI-Drive to Sports mode, and when you are ready, just mash the accelerator. It tends to launch better than just planting your foot alone.
    - It's unfortunate that the Gen6 doesn't come with gas struts for the bonnet now, like Gen5 did previously.
    - In Gen5 you used to be able to change the combination meter colour to one of 13 or so different colours in car preferences, but Gen6 is just white rings around the speedometer and tachometer unfortunately. Japan already has full digital displays for the combination meter now, but I don't think we'll get that until perhaps Gen7.
    - The car has front, rear and side cameras, which made it a doddle to park, but the next major revision will feature 360 degree cameras (as next year's Crosstrek has in Japan, and hopefully here too).
    - The CVT has crazy good fuel economy considering what this car is, and doing 90% of your drive with Adaptive Cruise Control will always save you about a litre more than the most conservative right foot you can manage (my Gen5 3.6R's record is 7.2l/100k on highway, which is ridiculously good for an H6).
    - Next year's turbo Outback will be down 10kw of power compared to the US version, however they don't get SI-Drive, so Sports Sharp mode should compensate for that (and be slightly more fuel efficient than theirs in the process).
    - The current Outback is still only 213mm high off the ground (hasn't changed in years). AU Forester and XV/Crosstrek are 220mm. The US standard Outback is 220mm and their Wilderness variant is 240mm off the ground.

I've had my Outback Touring since the end of March 2022 and travelled 10,000KM in 11 weeks. 3 reasons I purchased this for work:- 1) THE ROOM... There is so much space in this car, both for the driver and passengers. You can fold the front passenger seat down to go flush with the rear seats when folded down which gives you even more space to load long items into your Outback. 2) THE COMOFRT... This is by far the most comofratbale work vehicle I have ever had. In fact I find it hard not to go on long trips in the Outback, its that enjoyable. 3) THOSE EXTRA TOUCHES... There are so many inclusions in the Outback Touring, and for me the sound system, Apple Car Play, vented and heated front seats, heated steering wheel, adjustable front bolster on the drivers seat, the Napa leather seats are so soft and feel so premium, and the massive touch display just make this such an alround versitile and comfortable car. I've had the Subaru Forester MY14 before, but this thing is next level for space and comfort. There are a few little quirks which arent perfect, but this is one car I can drive for hours on end and feel totally comfortable when I get to my destination.

Got our Outback Touring few weeks ago. Best decision in car buying ever!
The space, luxury, comfort, handling, audio, everything .. is awesome.
The CVT is smooth as hell and fuel economy is great for such a large car, 8.1 and it's urban!!! Imagine on the highway. Woohoo ✌️

Ive just done a 3000km trip all around QUEENSLAND & NSW in my 2022 outback. On the highway I averaged 9.0 lph. Average speed 110-120kmh. With 4 people and all our luggage. It didn’t miss a beat. I reckon if you stayed at 100kmh fuel economy would be better.

It's funny you should say that! I just got a 2024 Outback Wilderness and I can't believe how luxurious this is, especially if you consider that I am riding on AT tires with an suspension that is geared for offroading. This thing rides so smooth and is so planted and comfy I can't believe this is the Subaru! I love Subaru I have been driving them a long time, but quite cabin and Luxury comfort have not been their claim to fame. Not any more! And it is still a Subaru.
Maybe after all these years of driving Subaru's it has dulled my sense of Luxury? Coming from your background with Benz's and Porches to say this makes me feel better 😁

I just got my 2023 outback about a month ago and so far I love it. I got the premium trim so it doesn't have some of the features of this car like the nice leather seats or rear seat heaters, but I feel like it's still a great car and has every thing that I want. It is a little slow but IDGAF since i'm just using it as a leisurely commuter car, I'm not trying to win any races. It still feels more powerful than my old vw jetta. I'm really impressed by how solid it feels and how practical it is for the price, and I thought I'd hate the large screen and lack of physical buttons but it's very user friendly.

Hi guys good review.have had a 17/18 model since new (80k+) here's my thoughts.
Cons. Underpowered esp under load. Not a fan of CVT sluggish. CVT is also pretty crappy if cold ie holds gears and revs high, let engine warm up and good. The eye sight can be sensitive on bendy bush roads etc and can be too keen in the city if you're trying to pull a swifty. The paint is easily scratched. Windscreen is a bit fragile and x$x to replace $3k at Subaru less than half at O'Brien's.
Pros. Just an awesome vehicle. Handles a trailer well have hauled 1/2 ton loads unbraked multiple times and interstate. The eye sight kicks ass if you drift out of lane or distracted. Cruise control is awesome.very comfortable, amazingly roomy I have slept in the back and at 6'2 had about a foot to spare fully extended just slide the seats foward. Huge rear leg room, son is 15 &6'3 fits with leg room to grow. Great mileage that makes up for engine and gearbox about 650ks per tank. I have the base model about $36-8k when we got it.
Also I use 95+ fuel and is noticeable in power and mileage than regular, esp torque.
Overall my only fear is the gearbox O/W this is the best all round car I could imagine, I don't give a rat's what it looks like

People who buy these, and Foresters (like me) buy them solely because they want the Subaru AWD for touring and light offroading duties..... soemthing most reviewers dont ever cover. Just saying .... take it off the grass next time. Lack of simple buttons to switch to X-mode as you're driving would get tedious, but thats just me .... cos i love buttons as much as you love your sauce, and cones.

Had my outback Touring for 18 months - absolutely hate it, U.K. Spec - gutless 2.5l engine, horrible issues with creaking interior and roof - roof creaks so badly it’s like driving an old wooden ship - problems with welding on roof struts - known issue - Subaru attempted to fix a few times - had my car a total of 2 months cumulatively - couldn’t fix it now refuse to do anything at all. Search the forums - this Gen 6 has lots of issues with this but as yet no official acknowledgement from Subaru - though they did instruct the dealer to stuff glue into the roof panel because ‘some cars had seen the roof struts detach from the roof panel’ - they don’t seem to think this an issue worth fixing. Beware

I own the previous model. Pros : The outback is super comfy bcoz of its long wheel base + very good safety features like subaru eyesight.. value for money . Cons : under power.. doesnt help overtaking or sudden launch , Subaru service is very high - as the dealer will come up with reasons to charge you for some extra part sale when you gove it for service. Also when you give it for service make sure you do the walk around check WITH the dealer and then hand over the keys for service. Subaru Bundoora Service gave me back my car after Service with a deep dent and told me it was there before. my bad i did the walk around check by my self before I gave then the key.. I was 100% sure that the dent wasnt there as I did the check before i gave the key for service :( never going back to Subaru or subaru Bundoora again. they lost my respect. My friends wont be going there as well as they are charged with so many parts during service.
