Thank you so, so much for explaining the shipment with a courier. Just one q - do you stick the booking confirmation and shipping note onto the box? Or do you just hand the sheets separately to the courier's driver?
In my experience if you book to deliver through a Takealot preferred courier you don’t need to stick the booking confirmation on the box. But if you are delivering yourself then you need to have it on hand.

Yes you can use branded or used boxes

Nope, you don’t need to wear anything special. However just know that you have to enter using a vehicle, you cannot enter on foot .

Hey guys pls tell me does anyone know if it's compulsory to allocate a courier on the booking page,if you are using a takealot preffered courier.I have been using my own courier for years and they are takealot preferred.I know that you don't have to do a booking if you use ur own courier who is a preferred,jus confused about allocation

You dont know how much you have helped me there, thank you so much. Though I'm having one problem, on the booking part, its taking me to another page to login some details, I have put the details as the ones for the seller portal, it keeps saying wrong password and email. Even if you opt the forget option, it says "The requested URL /forgotpassword was not found on this server.". I'm stuck because my delivery was supposed to be today. I have emailed, they're not reverting back.

If you send 2 units to Cape Town with Courier Guy, and then you have another different product that also needs to go to CT, do you need 2 different boxes for the Cape Town shipment?
You can use one box if they all fit in. Just make sure you include both product types in the “Create a shipment” section

I confirmed my first shipment. They did not give me time, they only gave me a date. Do you think it’s wise to just show up especially the DC in joburg ?
I was actually thinking of sending both with a courier as I’ll be working on that day
First try going on to the booking website and try get a time slot: takealot.za.adaptris.com/wbs/
So all products must be delivered physically by me or the courier guy? What about if I do dropshipping and I don't carry products physically only my suppliers does?
At the end of the day Takealot has to be the one delivering to your customers, so your products have to go to the warehouse first before they reach your customers

You put the barcode that is on your product. If your product doesn’t have any barcode then you leave it blank

Hi thank you. I really don’t know the true answer to that question, you need stock money which depends on how much your stock costs. On top of that add on R460 for the monthly fee. Then you’d also need some cash flow in case of any emergencies.

I said that because having stock at hand means you have products to sell on lead time. And I was taking all my products to the warehouse, I don’t want anymore orders when the warehouse is out of stock.

Quick question, why did you manually add a product? You could have searched the Takealot catalogue and just found an existing product listing and added to offer to your manager offers tab.
Very good question. This is because if I list my product under an already existing listing I will then have to compete in the buy box. I will have to adjust my price to match that listing that exists or be cheaper. So it’s often better to have a solo listing with no buy box (competitors)
@NdzaloBaloyi45 ahhhh makes sense. I just opened my Takealot account. But I'm working for a company that's been selling on Takealot since 2016 (OG Seller LOL) with roughly over 10K active listings. Focused more on Leadtime offers.

They do not have to be plain. You send it in a box written “NewLaid Eggs” on the outside even😅

Am i being too impatient or do goods ussually take time to sell? Should i worry that maybe im selling the wrong product or should i just be patient? After how long did u make your first sale?
You are impatient😹 I mean, some products don’t sell like the new iPhone or something. It’s never really fair to compare your 1st sale to anyone. Cause it depends on your product, your competition, your product visibility…

Congrats on your sales😸💯as far as I know you can’t request an immediate withdrawal of funds from takealot. I believe they pay out every two weeks (I might be wrong)
How's your sales of the swim cap doing? I fear that with a R42 Fulfillment fee on each item and 18% Success Fee and then R400 per month Takealot subscription fee, your markup is going to have to be massive for you to make a profit.

@@NdzaloBaloyi45 Those Takealot fees are insane! I suppose you could get away from it on higher ticket items and tons of sales. 18% on R1000 selling price is R180+R42+ other charges or penalty fees.😳 Nevermind your own costs, boxing, labeling, courier, bank fees etc.

You simply buy the blank sheet of labels and you print your barcodes on that blank sheet of labels. The reason you can’t just print on a normal A4 paper is because it doesn’t stick. So 45-up labels are basically blank stickers that allow you to print your barcodes on

For me to send a courier to deliver from the east of Johannesburg to the Cape Town warehouse is R110, for all packages under 7kg. So the cost you’ll incur depends on your courier and location. But if you deliver in person it’s completely free.
More interested in fees due to takalot pls
