I can not imagine what intense study was needed to deliver such a wonderful lecture. I truly feel gifted
Exactly how I’m feeling after discovering Gnosis after discovering Jesus of Nazareth after leaving Islam since I was born into it. My intention was to only seek knowledge for self betterment & fulfillment here I am to be blessed with this incredible lecture 🙏🏼
God is amazing
This is truly extraordinary. For years I've been trying to understand the fundamentals of Gnosticism, unsuccessfully. This extraordinary lecture explains these fundamentals perfectly. Thank you, sir, for a wonderful lecture.
Neville Goddard will tell you what it really is
I'm a gnostic Christrian and this is a nice easy to listen talk. Gnosticism is such an easy to understand belief foe me. I perceive it has as follows - in order for God/ Oneness to understand itself it needs to become self aware by creating the concept of "seperation", which needs to become self aware out of free choice and remember that it's a fragment of God/ Oneness. The fake concept of the duality of the two "worlds" (oneness/ seperation) is a beautiful thing when you realise it's all an illusion and we are all one - you simply have to treat others how you want them to treat you and have unconditional love and life becomes divine then.
FINALLY...a clear, concise, understandable and actually interesting cursory history of Gnosticism that's not convoluted, confusing and 'all over the place' like everything else on YT regarding Gnosticism. Finally...thank you!
I have yet to find another REAl Gnostic. "The Gnostic Truth, The Sacred Secret". th-cam.com/video/CO9v3OIFnxM/w-d-xo.html.Peace.
Check out Robert Price, he’s an authority on many religions histories but appears to have an affinity for Gnosticism in particular.
@@JudoMateo Thx I'm well aware of him....check out Jefferey Daugherty, he's got a TON of Bible stuff that Robert Price hasn't touched upon yet, and vice versa. Stay informed, and just like me don't get 'locked and loaded' on just ONE teacher, which I don't think you are as well.
Runaway Train Robert’s only a teacher in the scholastic sense. Still informative though.
Where can I go for online education to become a gnostic priestess??
Being a Theology major, but very open minded skeptic, I must be honest...this makes way more sense that not. Great presentation. God bless.
True.
the gnostic world view is the only one that makes any d-mn sense to me - and truth really does set us free
Gnosticism is so fascinating. And from my direct experience, very true. Funny how the mass of Christianity says Gnosticism is heresy. Blind leading the blind. Gnosticism, Advaita Vedanta, real Buddhism, A Course in Miracles, are the same curriculum in different forms. For those yearning for Union and Knowledge I bow to you in love and respect, and pray you find in this lifetime...

Blasphemy...
;)
Allow me to add The Law Of One Ra Material
Love you bro.
Finally. A Gnostic overview that isn't nauseatingly academic or eye rolling esoteric, but the perfect mix of right in between. Thank you. 😉
Where I can find these "nauseaningly academic" views on Gnosticism? I only find esoteric weirdos and Evangelical preaches and Bible school professors talking about/against it.
Yes, I found Ryan Reeves' lectures like a board-game, shifting isms around...
The most illuminating I've found are by Annie Besant & Rudolf Steiner.
Where can I go for online education to become a gnostic priestess...
@Bryan Rip Shut up Satan.
This is an amazing breakdown of Gnosticism. The presentation is straight to the point, easy to understand, and really engaging to the audience. 10/10, would recommend to my grandma.
I'm hooked on these Laurence Caruana lectures, his knowledge and presentation are excellent. Thank you for uploading.
Gnosis = Wisdom and Understanding learned directly from experience.
"Emancipate yourself from Mental Slavery, none but Ourselves can Free Our Mind..."- -Redemption Songs
Very enlightening presentation. Thank you very much.
I found this lecture PROFOUND. I'm just an average guy in Dallas Tx...
It is amazing how much this gnostic version of christianity has in common with modern magick traditions and eastern traditions. The idea of oneness as the highest mode of being and how it is divided from the lower "eons" (compare with the higher spheres of the qabalistic tree of life). The idea that the human spirit is a reflection of "the one" in its truest form but can not see it in the worldly state of mind and so much more. Also the idea of vowels and vibration in rituals is used commonly in modern ritual magick as in the rituals proposed for example by the golden dawn.
Beautiful presentation thank you very much
OMG!! Thank you for this!! Wow I have been searching FOR YEARS for someone to be able to explain Gnosticism. You’re the best! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Im Gnostic... And i cant imagine another way of life.
😮😮
This is the best overview of Babylonian Mysticism I have heard to date.
so happy i came across this one. very perfect since i come from a Christian view, i love the knowledge that i have gained. this makes more sense to me looking from both sides. Thank you and appreciate your heart in your work. cant wait to read your book.
The only time Christianity made sense. This filled a lot of gaps about life for me. Time well spent. Even the way he spoke about vowels being from the upper eon (the realm of the one) and constants from the lower eon (realm of Yadabaoth). In singing all the talent and beauty of the music come from the use of vowels. I also noticed Knosis is perfectly compatible with Seven Hermetic Principals. Knowledge of both really opens things up.
Use Gnosticism to understand your condition and use Hermeticism as your solution.
This whole series just blows my mind!!! Once again the old axiom is proven. Wisdom is to know how little you know....Thank you Laurence I salute you!
25:00 - it's all very interesting as a concept but I can't make head nor tail of what is being said!
I mean I don't understand any of the ACTUAL meaning
...has anyone done a complete interpretation of what any of these writings actually mean not just a word for word translation of what we've got available?
The most significant 2 hours of my entire existence. Thank you kind soul for sharing this master piece with us all.
This is one of the best Modern Lectures that I have found on Gnostic description. Thanks for posting.
I have never heard gnosticism explained so clearly before, truly illuminating!
I've been slowly getting interested in and learning about the gnostic teachings in the last 2 years or so, but it can become very convoluted as well as be hard to get into and piece together. This helped me massively to get that hawk's eye (though detailed) view of the entire framework of thought. 🙏🏼
Best lecture on Gnosticism I have seen so far.
Thank you Laurence for this illuminating talk of gnosis and the gnostics.
Best gnostic video , most informative on the entities namely arcons , aeons , Sophia
Etc. Great work on this lecture.
Fantastic Lecture Laurence! Very thorough, concise, and yet easy to understand for anyone just getting started in Gnosticism. Bravo
I agree with all the comments, Its definitely nice to see such a great in depth overview of such an often mistaught subject, really one of the best videos on the subject available right now. thank you.
This is great. I've had powerful spiritual experiences of oneness then the last one included Jesus and I couldn't make sense of it. I do now
Blood Meridian and Valis are my two most favorite novels it makes so much sense now that I'm so drawn to this stuff
This is the best explanation of Gnosi I've ever seen! Thank you so much from Italy
This was a great lecture. This actually makes a lot of sense and puts a clearly perspective on some things I couldn’t understand as a Christian (former)
This is top tier stuff, presented in a llively fashion. Truly rare. Thank you!
Thank you for this clear and interesting lecture. It was a really great explanation.
La mejor exposición que he visto, muchas gracias.
Man trying to find a talk on Gnosticism is like pulling teeth. Sifting through dozens of Orthodox Christians demonizing it.
You sure it's just Orthodox Christians, or also other kinds of Christians as well?
@Mark Branch you cannot see the light until you understand the darkness, for it is said no tree can grow to heaven if its roots do not reach down to hell. look up Carl Jungs teachings on psychology. he was the truest modern gnostic
Where can I go for online education to become a gnostic priestess?!
Check out a channel called Religion for Breakfast. He goes into them very well.
@@SSHellas Or, the forgotten about archons and their ilk!?
That was awesome. I read your book and it was great . You did a really convincing job of integrating that sayings (some obscure so not an easy feat) into the narrative . I’m a Christian with some existential and gnostic leanings . I also thank you for recommending Stefan for an idea I had for a drawing hr did an incredible job !
The end is where the beginning is, is a beautiful clue. As when you discover in the origional Jewish Torah book of Genesis the very first word is "beginning" and when you discover that Jewish letters all have a meaning of their own, you will discover that Jesus was in this very first word of Genesis. Praise be to God in his majestically magnificent wisdom he put everything in plane sight for those with eyes to see and ears to hear. Jesus said that he told us who he is from the very beginning and He certainly did Hallelujah!!!
In the beginning was the Word. The Word was with God and the Word is God.
Really clear, thankyou
How about seeing you here, I have just watched your most recent video and had this video queued for after, small world. Your video tonight was great man, thank you for sharing your thoughts on the topics you speak about - I vibe with them alot.
Very true. I would like to meet you one day for your belief in me. Sentient being to Mother Earth. Psistis Sophia.
Sublime and substantive. Thank you sir.
Fantastic Presentation! Thank you so much!
In this vast cosmos of information, available to anyone with a computer, one can pick and choose his or her interpretation of the mysteries of life. This is why there are so many views on what to do, who to follow, what to believe. Gather unto yourself the mysteries of this life, and live it to the fullest. Happiness is obtained from within, not without. Expanding Knowledge.
Wonderful lecture! A lot of clarity in such a complex topic. Many thanks to Mr Caruana and the Vienna Academy of Visionary Art for sharing this fantastic material!
Any other Christians on here who understand the textural history of the gospel accounts. Right away with this integration of Matthew, Mark, and Luke and his take on it I see a problem. The three were written about the same accounts but from three different perspectives and this immediately insinuated that they 'copied' from one another. Anyone else notice this issue?
VERY good, detailed but clear explanation. Thanks!
This lecture has changed my life.
Learn about everything, learning will change it even more.
I find it interesting that Gnosticism doesn’t seem to touch on the cross of Jesus Christ. This may just be my own ignorance on Gnosticism, and maybe it does, but was not touched on in this presentation. There does however, seem to be a big emphasis on circles. Makes me think of GK Chesterton’s discussion about the cross vs circle in Orthodoxy:
“As we have taken the circle as a symbol of reason and madness, we may very well take the cross as a symbol at once of mystery and health. Buddhism is centripetal, but Christianity is centrifugal: it breaks out. For the circle is perfect and infinite in its nature; but it is fixed for ever in its size; it can never be larger or smaller. But the cross, though it has at its head a collision and a contradiction, can extend its four arms for ever without altering its shape. Because is has a paradox in its center it can grow without changing. The circle returns upon itself and is bound. The cross opens its arms to the four winds; it is a signpost for free travelers.”
G.K. Chesterton, Orthodoxy
Great lecture.
Happy We found each other tonight....Danke❤will be coming
to see you soon in Wein..I have eyes to see and ears to hear.....
Amazing...listening to this and reading Elaine Pagels during the covid quarantine, year 2020.
This was really interesting and very in depth compared to the other stuff on TH-cam. Thank you.
I am glad that you can't be wrong in Gnosticism, i can see one could real creative with all this, as long as no one gets hurt
That would be a contradiction in itself if it's being declared Gnosis or knowledge.
Thank you very much Sir .it is an inspirational opening of my mind which I had difficult years of understanding religious faiths. .You have well explained that I found answers beyond my years of my religious sceptism and doubts . You narrowed the depth my philosophical knowledge. You explained in simple layman language which I am so greatfull . Again Thank you very much
I was thinking how similar the Gnostic view of Ascension is, to the Bardo of the Buddhists because you meet the wrathful deities and all kinds of deities and you have to know the right words to pass them by and continue on and when you see the light you have to recognize the light as being you and you're not to get distracted by the deities nor anything else for that matter, because that will send you back to the Earth again and another life.
This was wonderful. Thank you so much. Right now I'm reading Revelations of the Unknowable God, a Gnostic text. This book was written by Karen King, one of the academics you mentioned. The parts I understand are so inspiring, and I recognize the higher truth in them. However, I don't think she was clear about who the readers of her book would be. It's written, I gather, primarily for other academics in the field and she doesn't give definitions for all the specialized, technical terms only other academics would understand. I think it's a but disingenuous and deceitful when academics promote and target their books to the general public - but they are filled with technical jargon the author knows very well non-academics will not have a clue what they mean. Still, I gleaned some nuggets of great value from it. I really appreciate that you spoke slowly, paused after making a point so we could reflect on it, and in many ways made the Gnostic codices more understandable. There is so much here to unpack I bookmarked this url and will be watching it over again. Thanks again.
Expanding your vocabulary is something to strive for. Academic vocabulary provides a definition and a platform and a foundation for clarity during discussion. Less interpretation and subjectivity for objective critical thinking.
Dear beloved commenter,
I 💯agree, him allowing a little time for reflection between thought-provoking conjectures IS a very important aspect of watching a video lecture.

Great lecture. I really enjoyed it and learned so much from it. Fascinating
Manhattan , Mary Wilke - 'silence - God's silence - I mean I loved it when I was at Radcliffe but you outgrow it - you totally outgrow it'.
very interesting and very well spoken
Excellent presentation, definitely a share with others. Thank you for posting this.
Mahe Ohna, ✌️ Favour ALL
Bravo! Thank you Laurence!
NOT EVEN HALFWAY THROUGH AND I"M ALREADY A GNOSTIC !!! EPIC LECTURE !!! THIS IS THE WAY !!!
A Gnistic would not be on youtube, nor have a device to access youtube.
Think of the Essenes.
But ok.
I DID ENJOY LISTENING TO MR. CARUANA HE IS GREAT IN EXPLAINING BRAVO
I've read a few introduction books to Gnosticism and watching this was a great refresher. I'm going to read Elaine Pagels's The Gnostic Gospels next.
Well presented and valuable information shared . Thanks
thankyou so much you made it so easy to understand I watched other videos but found them confusing thank you
Thank you so much, your lecture is so enlightening and easier to understand. Especially the Nag Hammadi - so broken before but you put it together in a more palatable way. I'd like to get your book. Thank you again.
I wish I could give this two thumbs up! I will watch a few more times just because there is so much information, but it is clear to follow.
I have yet to find another REAl Gnostic. "The Gnostic Truth, The Sacred Secret". th-cam.com/video/CO9v3OIFnxM/w-d-xo.html.Peace.
Damnably interesting, I finally feel somewhat educated on this ancient lore. (It almost feels familiar). @ 1:15:00 the mention of "demons" orchestrating movement forcibly reminded me of the "daemons" computers use to organize and execute functions.
While highly irrational, there may even be a kernel of deeper truth buried under all the allegorical imagery. Earth is certainly dank, but I rather balk at the idea that the _entire Universe_ is the misbegotten construct of a misbegotten Entity. That seems...too narrow.
Yet squinting between the lines, I see vague parallels between certain aspects of this and the lunatic-fringe of Edgar Cayce and other dubious "channelled" works and modern apocrypha (like The Roswell Interview), outlining the "Fall" of individuated non corporeal Entities from a higher state; having laid-aside Their powers (so They could "play in the the mud" without vaporizing everything from the power of Their minds) and wound-up trapped and ensnared in Their own creations...and those of other manipulative Entities. While I obviously "believe" in Consciousness, I've become rather ambivalent towards the notion of a singular "God," NDE stories notwithstanding. (The God-concept sure has proven toxic to human affairs, I'm with the Atheists on that fact). Very good presentation, man! It's worth watching again.
I have been looking for more information on this subject. Thank you so much for this video!
You should take a look the The Secret of the Golden Flower by Wilheim and CG Jung Chinese inner alchemy. Religion is for those with no self and wish to be lead along.
Lawrence has the LIGHT very much present in him. Not many do.
Interesting lecture, filled in alot of gaps
I believe that the role/ influence of Egyptian cosmology was glossed over a little hastily and predates what we consider early Christianity/Gnosticism- the Pert Em Hru - outlines a worldview from which you can see the evolution/obsfucation through the geographical political cultural changes in power and obviously- how these dynamics write both History, and Religion... and I notice the thread running through Plato and definitely in the work of Jung- but also ( at least in my opinion ) in writers like Toni Morrison ...So interesting...Fantastic lecture- thank you!!! Your explanations are really impressive with a subject matter so complex.
What's the relation?
Absolute fantastic. Presentation! thank you very much!!
True Gnostics are always has been self enlightening truth seeking spiritual people.
Maybe, it's because i have never experienced the after life, as far as i can remember...lol.
Yes, very interesting religion and it's truly worth a replay for me.
I find it very interesting and He has truly put together a very good presentation for such an amazing topic.
I'm reminded of St. France and his findings in his message:
"What you are looking for is what is looking".
Thanks for sharing your work, found it very interesting and your presentation was great!
Thanks, and may God bless.
wonderfull lecture, illistrations, well done i appreciated the slow cleear speach
Amazing!! Thank you!❤
I was very pleased to listen to this lecture which did very well in explaining much about A lot of beliefs surrounding gnosis
It is a gallant effort and tried to simplify the total concept for someone like me to appreciate.. Thank you for inspiring lecture.
This was very good and structured nicely.
Your a child of the universe no less than the trees and stars.
Great presentation, thanks!
Succinct and thorough...👏 Brilliant presentation 🧐
Thanks for this! I've only been tangentially aware of gnosticism via VALIS, was nice to gain a deeper understanding.
In near death experiences people see a tunnel and then a bright light some even feel endless warmth and love from it and to some it talks and answers questions. I wonder if gnostic teaching are true is that the first Aeon?
So interesting! Thank you🎉❤
This is so comprehensive. And very enjoyable to take in.
I do think however that nobody desiring to practice Gnosticism would stick strictly to ‘the text’.
This is such a wonderful lecture!! Thank u 🙏🏻
Yes, the world is the hell.
The world and this universe. I have yet to find another REAl Gnostic. "The Gnostic Truth, The Sacred Secret". th-cam.com/video/CO9v3OIFnxM/w-d-xo.html.Peace.
the universe, evidently
@@AWikkedMoon the MAN thing is weird tho, how do you make that work in the infinity of other languages that are not english?
@@AWikkedMoon how can you claim to be a "real" Gnostic when you clearly don't understand the true nature of gnosticism yourself?
@@Outlandishoutset Bullshit! What you just said proves that you don't have an understanding. I AM a Gnostic Christian. What I KNOW is not Gnosticism. Gnosticism is the study of knowledge-any knowledge. What I speak is the Gnostic Truth. The words of Christ himself. Not from bullshit religion of which is belief, but from the Christ knowledge that are in the Gnostic gospels of Christ. Christ is a knowledge, not a belief. Believers are ignorant and can be lied to. That is why all must come to KNOW. Maybe! You can see how what makes sense is Truth. What doesn't make sense goes with belief. Peace.
I'm hoping this will help me to better understand 'A Voyage To Arcturus' by David Lindsay.
THAT WAS AWESOME!!!
Wow very detailed.
What do you think of John Lamb Lush's interpretation on Gaiatv's, Sophia Returning: The Path to Planetary Tantra?
Mind blowing lecture. Thank you for posting it!
These Apocryphal text are dear to my heart. But so much is missing. Still full of esoteric teachings that gives us truths that hold true even now.
Fine job. I'll be making sure to read your book soon.
This lecture deserves much more views. Thanks!
VERY WELL DONE!!!!!!. worth every minute.
