    Christian, there's something that you touched on that I hope people didn't miss. It's service, friendliness, great service. Give me those things and a business will have a customer for life. Even if something does need attention, you're never afraid to get a hold of them for help. ( Damn, I had to spell check the word afraid. It's those 6 letter words that get cha. )
    My best,
    Scott

    Could you get some kpmf and show us how to lay it? I couldn't get it on at all, but went 3m and it was pretty easy.
    Oh and thanks so much for the videos, they have helped me tremendously

    Made the switch to Scorpion for my Tint, PPF and Hexis supplier in the last month and they are hands down the best I've ever dealt with. Zac is always available and more than helpful and very knowledgeable, great company with great products and they have a lifelong customer in me!!!

    I recently wrap my car with emerald green chrome from vvivid and had never seen anyone wrap a second layer of laminate over any wraps done. So I didn't use a laminate only to find out in order to keep it from fading it needed to be laminated..why dont you ever say anything about laminate in your vids?

      Isopropyl alcohol. Don't push too hard while rubbing or you can fade the clear coat, and then you'll have to wax it to shine again.

    lemme know how those textured plastic fenders/wheel trims work out for ya...? the jcw countryman models only have those textured plastic wheel trims, but the cooper/cooper S/etc can have the paintable/non-textured plastic wheel trim that's OEM...so I'm stuck on if I should try to wrap em or just leave em....(When I called my local MINI dealership they said they've heard of people who wanted to get those wheel trims painted (or wrapped), and sanded down the textured plastic to a finer finish to get it to work, since that way they'd eliminate those bumps and tiny gaps that could potentially be troublesome for wraps sticking down the road...could also give it some better surface energy in the process too...I'm just hoping that if I go that route it doesn't both totally botch em up *and* also be unwrappable afterwards....bc then I'd be stuck having to get replacement OEM textured plastic ones, which obviously would suck + be one huge swing-and-a-miss...)...So I'm definitely hoping there's some sort of solution out there; bc I think those things are more obviously visible when the car is wrapped in a finish that really stands out...it just accentuates the dumb wheel sills bc of their contrast to the wrap itself, and it's freakin annoying.

    • @trevorbrooks2552
      @trevorbrooks2552 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've wrapped all sorts of OEM slightly textured trim. As long as I hit it with good post heat and pressure, no problems the past three years.

    Ima try wrapping my 08 civic coupe within a month or so. I’ve been looking for nardo grey wrap. The only company that seems to have it in stock is cheetah wrap. Anyone know if that brand is good or should I just wait till vivid has some in stock? Thanks in advance.

    • @mkm1856
      @mkm1856 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      cheetah wrap is still working out the kinks since they're still new (like less than a year old now)...it's made by frank fellers + justin pate, and it def seems like it will be a really good film (plus their "satin aluminum" color line is so damn flossy), but it doesn't feel like they've worked out all of the kinks yet...so if it were further down the road, I'd just say go for it w/o hesitation, otherwise just know what you're getting into -- cheetah wraps has a specific/unique install process that might frustrate a lot of installers, mainly bc of its *insanely* low initial tack...Christian has a video on it where he tries out the gloss black (albeit at the time of filming that vid, cheetah wraps was having some known issues with the gloss black finish in particular, so there could have been some issues from that involved as well, but if you need a quick reference you can always take a look at his vid). Those prices are solid though...once they're actually at a level of 3M/Avery - which is the level of quality they're aiming for - then the prices will definitely be a steal as far as I'm concerned, but right now I think it's a huge hit-or-miss...personally, I'd just do vvivid (or avery if you want to spend a nice extra chunk of change but have an insanely easy installation process)

      Also do yourself the favor and just spend the extra & pick up Galaxy nardo grey from vvivid instead...it looks so much more epic. I actually have both of those on hand also if you need any of it..just wasn't exactly going in for the close on a sale though, was just tryna answer your original question, haha.

    I've been wondering why nobody has talked about hexis..
    I've only used the vvivid + and vvivisld XPO (my favorite), but I've been curious about trying hexis.. so thanks for another amazingly informative vid Christian!
    Any advice for someone trying to get into the industry? I've emailed a few shops in my area asking if they would let me shadow/apprentice, but nothing back as of now.. any advice would be great!
    (PS: Hire me please! I'll work and learn and do it for free! Lol 😂)

      Michael Hill Im sure they see your messages but they don’t get back to you because they don’t want competition. Me personally I would rather continue wrapping by myself than training somebody who could potentially be a threat to my business. Those who teach classes, such as Christian, have nothing to worry about because their business won’t be effected negatively because they are so popular

      Best thing to do would be to start wrapping some things on your own if you haven't already. If you have, then wrap more things. Put out free ads and find a way to bring in work which will also help you learn

      @@CKWraps yeah, that's been my plan. I just wrapped my bike (07 GSXR-600) which was a good challenge for me to see all the potential challenges with a wrap, and gave me a good opportunity to problem solve as far as where and how to use knifeless tape, etc.
      Actually by chance started chatting with a woman. About her car the other day and she said she would be totally down to let me try wrapping her car on the cheap and wouldn't mind imperfections.. so I think I'm gonna take her up on that.

    Would not recommend using scorpion for film or vinyl. Unless you are a film or vinyl business they will not sell to you. Not knocking their film, and obviously not knocking hexis, (which i don't believe is made by scorpion anyway) but the last interaction I had with scorpion they lost me as a customer. I am a 8yr professional window tinter, used their film was fine (up to par with pretty much everyone else in the film market, Not as good as Llumar imo) When I was working from a shop, they gave me some demo rolls, and I bought a roll for my personal that their rep sold to me. Last year I contacted them and wanted to buy a few rolls for myself and was as rude as possibly told that unless I applied to be a dealer for them and owned a business they would not sell to me. I mentioned that I had bought in the past directly and scorpion told me that their rep was wrong for doing that. At that point I didn't even argue, said thanks for the time and hung up and called solar control films out of Houston. Greatest customer service and sells to anyone. (Also I believe they are a HEXIS dealer as well) Had film next day. Sorry to stray your suggestion @CKWraps but I feel like I need to make it a point to people that Scorpion will not sell to individuals. Great video though man!

    • @johnperkins986

      Sorry you had a bad interaction with Scorpion. We have a direct sales team that sells to individuals as well as businesses. We do sell through some distribution partners that only sell to businesses. I would love another chance to earn your business and know who you talked to before if you remember. Again apologize for any issues you have had. Let me know john@scorpioncoatings.com.

      @@johnperkins986 I cannot remember the representatives name, I do remember it was in july last year. I really wish I did remember the persons name because if you are telling me that scorpion does sell to individuals, than that person needs to be retrained. The interaction I had went along the lines of him not even asking more details or trying to find a solution. It was cut and plain "yeah sorry but unless you are a business and apply to be a dealer I cant help you, sorry..."
