    Great video. My top tip for beginners is try out as many different darts as you can at first, sooner or later you'll hit on a dart that's "forgiving" and helps you miss less often. Then don't be tempted to change darts just because you have a bad run, everyone hits a bad patch now and then!

    I shoot in my basement. For an oche, I use a section of board and put a dumbbell on the other side to keep it in place. Not pretty but it works.

    I'm new to darts and found it pretty exciting during the corona quarantine and now I'm interested in buying the equipment for it myself so thank you for this video :)

    About nine years ago, I started an amateur dart club in my apartment complex, "South Side 619" (Southern California), and we would play every Friday night at each other's apartment. I just happened to be one of the better players, so I bought a board to improve my skills as a player. I bought a DMI darts Pro-Trainer Bandit. The trips, dubs, and bulls were so skinny and tiny, that when I went back to a regulation-sized board, it was like throwing at a football field. I have zero complaints about my DMI dartboard. Awesome video !!! 🗡🗡🗡

    made my oche out of those foam squares that lock together .4 squares in a pack are just over the exact length . glued 3 sets together and trim to lengh . cheap raised oche thats light to move and soft for bounce outs to stick in. having a raised oche is the go so you don't have to watch where your foot goes all the time .

      Great idea! Do you fix it to the floor somehow or is it heavy enough to stay still on its own?

    Great video Bryn! Literally exactly what I was gonna upload today haha great minds think alike! Really useful tips for any begginer players out there! I spent money on really bad quality dart items when I first started that I essentially had to buy twice when replacing with good stuff

    Unicorn HD2 board, unicorn solar flare light and just a blue unicorn surround, unicorn can be pricey but for me I’ve always used unicorn and never had a problem the oche I use is a darts mat with the checkouts on it for added help 😁

    I built a surround thats 36"x48" for $38. Get some 2" thick insulation foam board, a pack of cheap foam anti fatigue matts, glue the anti fatigue matts to the foam board with spray contact cement, then cut out a circle the exact size of the board and the go around the inside of your cut out and the outside of your surround with duct tape and press it onto your dart board

    Beginners need to remember that flights and stems are disposable units. They will break they will need to be replaced. If you find a set you like buy many so you have extra. Luckily normal stems and flights are cheap!

    • @johnathancarlton6710
      @johnathancarlton6710 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      aadarts is an online dart shop, but has free shipping if you spend a certain amount of money. And they are way cheaper than any American dart retailer. They have all high end darts, mostly specializing in soft tip, but they have like 50 or 60 different steel tip darts too. I've bought three sets of darts from them, and about to buy my 4th set of darts.

    What a dangerous set up. I hope nobody lets a dart slip and penetrate the mains cable next to the board as that would be instant death when they remove it. I think your better removing it and fitting somewhere else.
