Mindblowing end result you got there. Just wrapping my head around all aspects of sound design is a daunting task. Some day I WILL be able to craft something similar
Hi mate, bee wathcing your videos and i'm loving it!!! Keep them coming!!! I don't know if you already know it by now, but you can Alt + Shift + Click on the knob modulated to toggle between unipolar/bypolar instead of going to the modulation matrix to do that. Cheers!!!
Hi! It's Really Great. Good Job! I don't see the X-axis Y-axis setting of LFO on Vital, is it impossible to do this using Vital? I bought your soundsets and I'm using it and I think it's very cool.
Hey Chris. I have made a Serum patch last night inspired by this video. I actually started as I was just curious if my version of Serum needed updating to see if I already had this feature and I did. But then I couldn't stop playing about and before I even knew it I ended up with a full-on Dark Ambient drone patch with sounds incredible to me. I was wondering could I send this patch to you and maybe give me your opinion about it? I thank you so much for the inspiration on the techniques. Since I discovered you about a week ago I have learned so much about Ambient music that I wanted to learn but I couldn't seem to find any resource online about this genre and your sharing of your knowledge is so generous and kind. Thank you so much!!
That's awesome! Join our Discord. There are tons of other producers there who would love to hear and test out your patch for you. Link is in the description! See you there.
Hi mate - question. How can we make pads that remain constant over the track ? Trying to avoid diminishing the level with a long attack or a new midi note that plays. I want to use this pad a constant background to create some nice ambience.
Good question. I should probably make a tutorial about it! For now just watch your frequencies and make sure you aren't crowding the mid range with too many pads. Pads live anywhere between 400-3000hz. Control the volume in that space and it will allow other elements to shine with the pads in the background. Hope that helps!
It's a default skin called Promethium just download the latest version in your account and switch it by right clicking on the big "SERUM" in the upper left and choosing the skin.
I have also edited one of the skins that are around and basically made my own. I basically changed the waveform/filter/envelope/LFO/Velocity and Note graphs check buttons and modulation amount and double click values to a nice red with gradient fading to almost black red. It looks great for me :P. It took me some time editing all the assets and also the colour map image to suit the respective changes for each section.

I'm a new viewer. The new Serum X-Y modulations are freaky! The sound is like a spacey, harmonica pad. Enjoyed watching.
