The "holding this pain" falsetto line during the pre-chorus is Handong! She didn't get the screen time but she finally got really good lines and she killed it this comeback! Piri was Gahyeon's era and this is the Dong's

The first time I heard the song that was the one line that hit me hard and deep and Handong’s voice is just too beautiful to handle. Also Gahyeon’s part made me cry and the harmonies in this song... Also Dami singing is such a blessing
Yes, the storyline is based on King's Raid video game. Yoohyeon is consumed with evil and her friends want to help save her. But Yoohyeon kills Jiu and then proceeds to kill the rest at Jiu's funeral. Deep down, the good Yoohyeon is still trapped inside because she can remember all the good memories as she strikes them down. It's a tragic story. In the end, she lost everything and is left with pain and memories.

I think this is opening for new ARC of dreamcatcher, judging from last scene i think it will have sequel. Just speculation. Too many symbols, too many questions and it feel not complete yet.
Theory that I'm seeing is that Yoohyeon in is the last of them trapped in the nightmare dimension and despite Jiu's efforts, her death in the dream realm and the return of the Fly High era butterflies, the furthest that Yoohyeon can travel is the border between worlds.

also I've been stanning since You & I era and I'm so confused about this music video :'D I think it might be that the first half of the music video is just some kind of vision that Yoohyeon gets from them dark evil spider curse powers indicating how JiU will take everything from her. That's why she goes and betrays everyone else first to avoid being betrayed herself or something. The "deja vu" is the sword scene because the first one (JiU pointing the sword) didn't actually happen because it was only imaginary while the second one (Yoohyeon backstabbing JiU who refused to kill her friend) is the one that actually happened. It also might be that JiU actually gets killed but somehow gets revived through those butterflies since she was the one connected to them in Fly High and will try to stop Yoohyeon and save the others who are still alive (since only JiU's shown in the casket.. well besides SuA, but as we saw she might be trapped somewhere?) in the next comeback. At least that's my interpretation of the mv so far ♡
And that Siyeon fire scene is literally the most beautiful thing I've ever seen, it's so amazing.

Deja Vu is reinterpreted into the mind playing tricks on you. Yoohyeon thinking that she's the good person when all along she's actually a bad person with a thirst to rule the throne alone.

I've seen multiple different theories about the music video so far, but I think the most popular one is that Yoohyeon plans to betray the rest and rule by herself or something and Jiu is her first target? But seems like Jiu figures it out and lives, but then her morals don't let her kill Yoohyeon or she gives her another chance and it's a mistake? It's interesting tho how much symbolism there seems to be like. Them standing in a line by the table and smiling makes me think of the last supper lmao, the burning butterflies flying away from Jiu might symbolise death? Since butterflies can apparently represent soul while blue roses can symbolise trust and loyalty and both burn in the second part of the music video... honestly I love how beautiful it looks and how much thought they put into it

Jiu was the one who trapped the spider in Fly High
I think the darkness from the beginning is a plot point from King's Raid? It's cool to see how they took bits and pieces of the lore and made it their own! When characters are overcome by darkness in the game their outfits often change from light to dark which was shown in the mv, but I'd love to hear a theory from somebody with more than two brain cells lmao I can't make a coherent theory to save my life
tl;dr: deja vu - her memories are messed up for some reason. she thinks jiu turned evil and is turning on her, and thats why she killed her, but in the end it was HER going evil and and killing everyone. and she does not remember how that story goes exactly, cause the memories are still messed up, and she feels lonely remembering her friends from those snippets of flashbacks and not knowing what exactly took place at that day. so she is trapped with her memories and all alone.

The plot is similar to classic literature like Macbeth, betrayal for the throne. Yoohyun kills her friend Jiu and gets rid of the others (exiled, imprisoned, and killed). While she finds herself alone on the throne, she's having illusions like Macbeth, which has been interpreted as "deja-vu" is my guess.

I just somehow fucking just understood !!! Or maybe idk, tell me if Im wrong. So by looking at the comments, its based on a game King's Rais games, but that aside, the whole story being the beginning, Jiu attacks Yoohyen, and clearly she is shocked, but then the flashbacks show that Yoohyen is like '' wait, didn't this happened before'' and now like she remembers being evil and everything, regret and the whole pack, like a deja vu. Now I didn't look into the details, but just basing on those main scenes, I'm assuming it's that, tell me if I'm loosing track here.
Well done on not pausing 1st time round, I could tell you really wanted to. And should you play it a 3rd time? When it comes to Dreamcatcher you play that video as many damn times as you want.
I know there's theories on how the video fits the story of the game. I feel it also fits into the girls storyline.
My theory: People have suggested that in recent videos Yoohyeon had been finally lost to the curse.
I think her being finally lost JiU, who is the main one who's been trying to save her, realises she can never be brought back and the only way to save her from the curse is to kill her (a mercy killing) bit when it comes to doing the act she can't, dropping the sword. Yoohyeon, overwhelmed by the curse, takes the sword and commits the ultimate betrayal by attacking the person who has been trying to save her the whole time.
