    What I didn't like is the fact that they portrayed Mary having birth pangs despite her immaculate conception.

    Released in time for Christmas, having just watched it I'd say this is one turkey that deserves a good stuffing.

      Ok but the catholic view of Mary is the correct one so it would be more accurate if they made it like that

      As a Christian I lasted about 5 minutes and figure if I wanted to listen to the lies, I would follow the Catholics teaching of Mary.

    I do not believe that this is a feminist film. I did not like the film and found it unsatisfactory and lacking biblical respect.
    The BLESSED VIRGIN MARY is portrayed like a young female Indiana Jones escaping the devil and the soldiers.
    I wholeheartedly resent that Netflix is attempting to rewrite her story. Important spiritual sign posts are ignored. St. Joseph is portrayed as a young, randy groom on a quest. Biblically , he was 33 years old.
    As a Catholic I have never heard of Mary studying at a temple and her role in history being temple sanctioned at a young age. And, where was the info that people could protect their first born sons by marking their doors with blood? How could an angle like that be left on the cutting room floor?
    Offensive, commercial , disrespectful and stupid. My fear is that young children will see this and accept it as the gospel truth.

      Where does the bible tell us the age of Joseph? Also Mary is called blessed in the bible as she lost that virginity thing in Mat 1:25 before have Christ's first brother James.

      @@sammygomes7381 Mary was a perpetual virgin. Jesus had no siblings, any reference to the brothers or sisters of Jesus were of his cousins or other family members.

      @sammygomes7381 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@veronicaloraditch6293 The bible is pretty clear that Jesus had siblings, in fact, if your read the bible you have read two books written by His brothers James and Judas (Jude).
      Matther 1:25 tells us that Joe and Mary had relations, not to mention Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and Paul, all tell us about the brothers of Christ.

      Scripture’s statement that Joseph “knew [Mary] not until she brought forth her firstborn” would not necessarily mean they did “know” each other after she brought forth Jesus. Until is often used in Scripture as part of an idiomatic expression similar to our own usage in English. I may say to you, “Until we meet again, God bless you.” Does that necessarily mean after we meet again, God curse you? Definitely not. A phrase like this is used to emphasize what is being described before the until is fulfilled. It is not intended to say anything about the future beyond that point.

      @@comediccatholics Common sense and the context of the verse is obvious, not the to mention Matthew, Mark, Luke John, and Paul all speak of the siblings of Christ.
