In this video I explain to you why the road trip I'd been planning for years, came to an abrupt halt and hope you can avoid being in the same or worse situation whether abroad or even away from home in the UK. On the plus side, there are 5 days of pretty good fun before the merde hits the fan so enjoy those.

I’ve just had covid, I’m 40 years old and very fit.. felt very tired and weird for 5 days, headaches, body aches… it was a bit of a slow burner…then towards the end…. I could not breath for two days… and jt scared the hell out of me! I have a new found respect for covid.
Still struggling with fatigue and shortness of breath.

Here's hoping both of you have a quick & full recovery. Guess it's inevitable that Covid will catch up with us all at some point. Terrible luck to catch it on holiday though (even with a very nice hotel to isolate in).
Having recently had Covid for the first time myself about 4 weeks ago, I can sympathise completely! Working throughout lockdown (due to my job), making a few trips south to England in the process, ironically I caught it close to home! Like you, I'm triple vaxxed (which I'm glad of, as it wasn't too bad - was back at work middle of the week after, with a few lingering effects for a bit longer), my Wife was just the same. Seems to be a lot of us that are late 40s/early 50s coming down with Covid just now.
Doesn't detract from the video - still an epic road trip & something I've a hankering to do one day (bit too much hassle just now though, with a large dog who isn't keen on long car trips🤣). Bit too hot for me just now, I'd want to do that in spring or autumn, I think (I DO live in the North of Scotland)!
If you're ever selling your Porsche.....! I've always fancied a 911, but think you've almost convinced me that you don't need a 911....that engine sounds glorious! I love my R Estate, but the Porsche totally eclipses it as a GT (pains me to admit it🤣).
Hoping you're going to finish that video at some point - it's something different to your car reviews (which are informative & interesting, don't get me wrong), but I like these sorts of road trip videos - fancy doing a road trip to Wolfsburg one day, like you did in that RSQ3 a couple of years ago.
Epic video Andrew. The main story was well considered, well crafted and well executed. Incredibly sorry to see the end was not as planned but as you highlighted, it could have been a lot worse. Great to see the channel now has over 40k subscribers. Should be treble that given your efforts and accomplished videography. Take care mate.
My wife has the same symptoms. Started with a sore throat. It has not been the worst for her. She said it feels like bad allergies. However the fatigue is real.
I'm not sure how long ago this was but I hope you're doing great.

I don't know how you've dodged it up to now. Being jabbed now won't stop you getting the recent variants, just reduce likelyhood of serious [as in put you hospital] effects. I got it around Christmas - felt a bit rough for a few hours, then okay, apart from a cough that wouldn't budge for a couple or even 3 weeks. My 2 sisters on the other hand, both have long covid effects a number of months later. So fingers crossed you just feel a bit rough for a few days and bounce back not to long from now. People are getting it only a few months after a previous bout due to it mutating - so we've just got to get used to it alas.
Oh, and I was enjoying the "Harry riviera tour" until then.

hi andrew great video i am so sorry to hear about your holiday and like you both my wife and i have also had covid again recently and seems to have been much worse this time in our case we are struggling with taste and smell and appetite and been clear three weeks wishing you both a speedy recovery
We had 3 months of extreme fatigue after covid....really takes some shaking!

Watched the whole video thinking you wrote off the Porsche in a tunnel, then found it was just COVID 😃. Bloody annoying though to happen on holiday. I got it at Christmas. Not had a single jab, had similar symptoms but was over it in 5 days.
It's a shame covid brought your holiday to an abrupt hault.
Myself (57) and my wife(64) caught covid for the first time 3 months ago(triple jabbed aswell)
For me I had ache bones for a day and flu like symptoms for 3 days.
My wife(who was told to shield due to medical history) just had mild cold symptoms.
It seems a lottery on how it will affect you.
I too caught Omicron whilst on my hols so feel for you (was able to reclaim my leave fortunately). I had the worst sore throat when I caught it in March - it was by far the most debilitating symptom but once that cleared up was as good as gold so fingers crossed.

Ouch. Covid really sucks.
I got sick with covid last year myself and my wife. I felt absolutely shocking for a week or so. The sense of time wanted to go when all I could do was sleep/lay in bed.
Speedy recoveries and hopefully neither of you won't have any long covid symptoms. But cheers to both of you \o/
Had the covid19 myself.. 3weeks ago.. started with the sore throat.. felt like a bad cold. Hope you're feeling better🙏 keep ya spirits up👍 already looking forward to the next video👍

Hi Andrew, I am awfully sorry that you and Kate contracted covid especially on your well deserved break as what I can imagine has been a difficult few months with the business change. Thanks Andrew B! Yes drive back will be interesting as never planned to go home from here. Lots of Alp dodging required. Baden Baden then Bruges are are overnighters (2 nights each)! Really don’t want to go back into France so Turin, Martigny, Basel, Baden Baden is tomorrow. Target is BB’s famous salt pools 🤞

😆You may think morphine sounds excessive but get this, it didn’t actually fully mask the pain. It was the worst day of my life easily

Was really enjoying the content and some of the sounds where right up there with the best . Number one your ok and the better half sorted the holiday insurance. And at least you had a half decent place to stay. I'm sure your disappointed but at least you will have a hell of a story to go with it . Car looked great ... safe journey home
What a shame mate. It was looking like such a perfect vacation but ended this way. I've visited many of those places in my youth and it's really not possible any more for us. So nice to see them again. Wishing you both a speedy recovery and safe trip home.

It’s a nightmare being on holiday when you get it as you can’t get access to your medicine cabinet at home. Dose up on lots of vit c zink high dose and if you can get it it vit d2 in high dose
Antihistamines can also help
Some mouth washes help with gargling and iodine nasal flushes

As an American calling a doctor and having them come over without a 5k bill is what shocks me the most. Feel better friend, COVID gets us all eventually.

It's frustrating that you're 3x jabbed and you still got it.
I'm unjabbed, had what can be described like "it" in Oct 2019.
Never had positive result since.
It is frustrating. Apparently symptoms are milder if jabbed and never had any breathing issues even 2000m above sea level so if jab means any level of better it’s worth it but hard to prove I guess

Likewise. Three day sore throat. All the vaccinated around us totally poleaxed - some have had it twice. Still my Pfizer shares have been a blessing.

Recently visited France and came back with the covid. It’s gone nowhere.

You got more chance of ending up in hospital by putting you car in a hedge , than suffering from Covid at your age , Unless of course you already have four pre-existing co-morbidities

Home safe now, was back to life on the Monday and headed home Wednesday starting with a mammoth 10 hour drive from Isola 2000, around Turin, into Switzerland via Great St. Bernard then autobahn in Germany to Baden Baden. I might have a video worth posting, just about to go through footage now👍
