I have been riding since the late 1960's. I have had many bikes and now My wife and I love riding. We are in our late 60's and early 70's. The plan is to ride until we can't. We do love our 21 RTL. Keep up the great work CB3. Hello from Fort St John BC.

I started riding at 12 years old. I'm 73 now just retired 3 weeks ago. Motorcycle riding is still a big part of my life the key is 3 wheels and avoiding unnecessary commitments. Life is good 👍

Hi Couch, New Zealand again, You're so right in this video. I'm 64 now, and I had my push bikes (favourite was my Raleigh Chopper), my first licence, in 1975, was for motorbikes the first being a Tas Chibi then Honda CG125. Then along came my car licence (won't bore you with those). I had a return to bikes with a Yamaha RD400, Honda MVX250, lastly Kawasaki GPz600R (rode a few others bigger and smaller) Then in the late '80's came a wife, on to the '90's came kids, a house mortgage. So motorbikes went on the back burner, but still had posters on the garage walls, with assorted cars. Now the kids have moved out, got their own families, the house is freehold, the wife is happy doing her own thing. A builder turned up to survey the new garage build on a Can-am Spyder RS. This got me thinking so to 'Trade Me' (a NZ buy and sell website), couple of weeks later I had a 2011 Spyder RS, And just recently I purchased a 2015 Spyder F3-S, so now there's two in the garage, and I enjoy both of them (although the F3 is better for long touring). At the end of the day it's what you can afford, monetary/lifestyle/time.

I'm only 50 but I'm a Disabled Veteran and my F3 Spyder is amazing I have a bad back. With that being said this gives me freedom and don't have to worry about being able to hold a bike up.

I'm 77 and don't feel old either. I've been blessed with good health and still very active. But now my wife is in a memory care facility and I find my riding time limited, but I can jump on the Spyder or Himalayan and go to visit her.
I've always had a positive attitude and haven't lost that. Intend to ride as long as i can.
You're absolutely right about the relief valve. Earlier this week i I came back from a visit with her and mentally could not go set down, so i jumped on the Spyder and rode for an hour. Then I was good for the rest of the evening. Thats just one of the reasons I don't want to quit riding.
    Thanks for the inspiration.

Another great video, THANKS. I'm 75 and started riding again just efore I retired. I participate with Run For The Wall and do the cross country (Ontario, CA to Washington D.C.) Did it twice on my BMW and now twice on my Spyder. Hip replacement and comfort level had me transition to the Spyder full time. It is a great release. Now that I am on the Spyder, my wife rides with me. Couldn't be better. Keep up the good work.

2 reasons for me... First, it is almost impossible not to be "in the moment" when riding. You don't contemplate regret, you don't fret about the future. You just experience the moment. A combination of excitement, survival, awareness. ALIVE. Second, every human needs to be part of something bigger than they are. Dasher Keltner has a great read on Awe, and how to get it in your life, and savor it. Out on the bike, you are in the awesomeness of the world, the earth, the example of creation by nature, and of man. Trippy stuff, but it certainly gets you out of your singular existence, and you realize that whatever you have, have acquired, and carry is really pretty small in comparison.
There is no thing as wasted time, there is only time misspent. Go spend wisely.

Right on Coach. This video brought back memories. I was always jumping ramps with my bikes. My friend had a "Swing bike" that would pivot under the seat and I rode it all the time. I even had a "Evil Knievel" bike. I'm 59 y/o and just bought my first Spyder (2024 RTL) on Saturday from Orions. We're looking forward to putting some miles on it!!! thanks for the video Couch

First motorcycle at the age of 68. It was a Can Am Ryker. Traded it in in 3 months for a Spyder. As a female I fell in love with the power steering. So far mainly ride the country roads around us as we are rural. Hope to do more. But you are right, that riding is a great pressure relief.

I think a big part of this is generational: motorcycles were culturally WAY more significant that they were to subsequent GenX'ers and Millennials. (I ride, and I'm GenX...doing my part!). I also think there used to be a lot more places to ride dirt bikes...a lot of land has gotten closed off; and dirt bikes are often a "gateway drug" to street bikes. To increase the number of younger motorcyclists, I would suggest: 1.) Improving and increasing motorcycles' presence in cultural things...movies, video games, social events, etc.); 2.) Increase the availability of smaller cc bikes, scooters, etc.; 3.) Find ways to support, protect, and increase the number of off-road riding locations; 4.) Emphasize the fun and the fact that it, in contrast to so many things today, motorcycling feels REAL.

Well I'm 67 and have been riding two wheels since 1967, I just recently sold my last two wheeler and bought a Sea to Sky. My hobby was rebuilding old motorcycles have been doing it for 50 years, first out of necessity because I couldn't afford anything new and later on out the sheer satisfaction of accomplishment. My chosen career was risky everyday so riding was nothing compared to my work, now I'm still in pretty good health, I no longer restore bikes so I just ride instead. I retired my second career 4 years ago and like anybody I have no idea how long I have left, but riding is how I choose to spend my "golden" years. The world looks different from a Motorcycle as one rolls down the road, I don't think if the Millennials or Gen Z took their heads out of their mobile devices would recognize the world around them. We like our parents before us rode and saw the country differently, the younger generations see the world/country behind glass.
