This is a better trimming tutorial than most so-called professional beard channels. Kudos!
Always come right back to your videos thanks for your time and the great tutorial information
I appreciate that!
Your channel and your beard tutorials are my go to. For whatever reason no one seems to be as thorough and informative as you are. You take the time to show and to explain and I appreciate your passing on the knowledge
I’m glad you appreciate it. Thanks for watching!
Your beard looks great....the look that I am trying to attain. I purchased the brio, the very first attempt to trim the neck line caused me to cut myself with the brio, I checked to make sure that the built in guard was pushed all of the way forward, tried again and once again cut myself, I even pulled the skin tight. I ended up using shaving cream and a razor. Great tutorial! Thank you!
Definitely my favourite length and tutorial Greg ... all are great ... but this one fits with me and my beard 👌 👍
Thanks, I appreciate it
I haven’t gone this short in a while but I think I’ll try it this weekend. I bet this is the length my wife likes most. As always, Greg, thanks for the tutorial. Good stuff!
Thanks
I’m late to this review but this is in my opinion one of the top trimmers if not the best in the industry for bearded men! 💪🏼
I'm older then you I'm 66 years old I've been growing beards of al types sense I was 18 years old. I've had beards to my chest and beards shorter then your current beard and beards right about where yours is now. My point is... you nailed it.. you actually did your beard just about the exact same way that's I've done mine for over 45 years. I've never had my beard touched by a barber in my entire life. Now that I shave my head.. after having hair to my butt that I could sit on... for years... I shave my own head thus... I haven't been to a hair salon or barber in over 10 years... What I save in doing my own head and beard I can spend on good skin and beauty aka manly Maintenace products. I do the clean up touch ups about every two weeks on my beard.. if I am keeping it short and tight ... close to your current beard state... thanks well done.
Excellent technique. Learned lots of tricks. Thanks
Love how you shave your beard with oil
You are great at providing simple concise instructions thanks
Very helpful video. Just received my Brio V2 this week and really like it. I only wish the guards were less finicky to attach and the numbers on them more visible.
You’ll eventually get used to the guards but I do wish the numbers were etched in white
This is amazing. Probably the shortest beard I’ve seen you rocking.
Looks great. Greg! Happy Spring!
Thanks, you too!
I always appreciate your beard tutorials. I'm looking a lot like you, these days lol! I learned the proper way to shave my head from your videos. And, of course the beard shows have helped my beard look like a king's beard! Good stuff, brother 👍 Oh yeah, I still use the Wahl trimmer. Works great!
I’m thinking about taking mine down to a No. 4 guard. Especially after seeing this. Looking sharp! 👍🏾👍🏾
Go for it!
Revolutionised my beard trimming, thanks bro 💪
Great video x explanation
After having a big Viking beard I decided to go shorter. I buggered it up last night, and now to correct it I’m going to try this! I will let you know how I get on, I think you’ve got one of the best looking beards I’ve seen!
Thanks man, I hope it goes well!
@@GregBoswell428 It did indeed! Sorry I forgot to mention. After a month of growth I’ll trim the sides down a little bit but what would you say would be the ideal guard for the chin area after a month?
@@thevikingofhardcheese4080 I would just start with the highest guard and then work your way down to the one that starts taking some off until you’re satisfied with what you see
@@GregBoswell428 Thanks for your reply! Okay I’ll do that. Cheers!
Really NICELY done. Thanks.
Glad you liked it!
Great video man! I use this technique consistently! I use a 10mm . I have my beard just where I want it!
Another great video. Been thinking of going a little shorter for Summer so this is timely. Thanks, Greg!
Any time!
Thank you for sharing and informing me. It was a difficult and boring action for me in the past, but now everything has become more practical and fun thanks to you. Thanks Greg.
So if i put a guard on and close the blade what does that mean? What's the difference in opening and closing the trimmer with the guard?
Great tutorial video! I swear my hair grows the Nike swoosh on one side of my neck and I have no idea on how to stop the hair from swooshing lol. I've always kept a short beard because of this but now letting the beard grow longer and hopefully I'll be able to do something with it.
Fantastic video! Extremely helpful, thanks very much!
Looks so good Greg you make it look so easy.
thank you
Great video. Have you tried a straight razor for the cheek line? Gets a nice crisp line.
Great video pal !!
Thanks!
Welp the other day i shaved off my beard to a lighter shadow and now im going to grow it out for about 4 months as my patches are growing in finally. Maybe i might even grow out a yeard. Wish me luck!!
Great video, the outline instructions I found to be spot on. Do you have any advice on how to sharpen up the jaw line with a shorter beard?
How would you go set it to #10 after putting the #9 attachment on?
so what dial would i use to get the closest possible shave ?
If you’re using a 9 mm guard and you have it set to 1 mm on the trimmer, then technically you’re trimming your beard at 10 mm correct?
@@sprocketdog6303 in this video I have the guard all the way closed so it stays at 9 mm. The next lowest adjustment is 1.3 mm so that would put you at right about 10 mm.
The best tutorial…👍🏻
Thank you
Very good looking well trimmed beard you got there.
Thank you
Thanks for this 💪🏻🐺
brilliant 😍❤️
nice and neat Greg 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I think we will see you shave your face soon !
We shall see
@@GregBoswell428 don't you dare shave that beard off it looks amazing
Absolutely fantastic video! Really informative especially for a new beard wearer. Thanks so much!
Can you recommend any trimmer similar to Brio, but available in europe (outside UK)?
What’s better the beard scape or the Panasonic multishape?
I don’t know anything about the second one
Thanks, Dude~
Thanks for a great video
you have a great beard!
I have a question but before I ask, I need to give a bit of a background.
I have a pretty thick beard but the right side of my face has hair growing towards my ear. So, at longer lengths (>20mm), the difference between both sides is quite significant when brushing. The left side brushes down smoothly but the right side is bumpy since I'm sort of going sideways of hair growth.
When I brush the right side out in the direction of growth (towards my ear), it becomes as smooth as the left side when brushed down.
Now here's the question : when using a beard trimmer with a guard, trimming the left side is easy because when brushed down, I'm going with the grain and I can trim the way you showed.
But on the right side, do I brush outward FIRST (to have the beard sit in the direction of growth) and then trim with the direction or do I just brush it down (even though it's bumpy) and then trim?
Thank you!
I just brush or comb in the direction the whole beard in the same desired direction and then trim. Then I tweak the problem areas to bring symmetry to the beard.
@@GregBoswell428 - thank you!
Greg, do you still like the brio 2? I'm thinking of getting it to keep my beard nice and short. Even though I have a cordless senior clippers, it just seems to take off too much when I want to keep a short beard.
@@yobabybubba yeah, I do. Brio is real good. Very reliable.
@@GregBoswell428 Thank you I just ordered one
Does the Brio come with a oil? Any oil is good to make sure the trimmer is properly maintained?
Yes, it comes with oil and a cleaning brush
@@GregBoswell428 i am from EU and couldn't find any EU seller or the product at a price close to what you guys have.
A shame since i was finally sold on what to buy.
Where do I find the brio link greg
@@edwardharrison2469 In the description of this video
I like my beard cut between 1mm and 2mm does this meet these requirements?
They have guards with those settings
Hahahahahahahahahaha I thought I was the only one that trimmed my eyebrows !!!!My Mrs always laughs at me when I trim them. Thanks for the videos,God bless.
😂😂😂
Isn't regular hair clipper already good for beard trimming?
Should be. I used to do that.
Why don't you use safety razor for shaving?
Because no one is paying him to !
Wish I could find the V2 at a reasonable price here in Europe .
It's even more expensive here in Canada ($200.00 on Amazon).
What is the difference between V1 and V2? I looked on their website the specs look identical 🤷♂️
It’s mostly an aesthetic and ergonomic thing. Different weight, different feel, new digital display panel. Same great performance.
I saw another video with the V1 and V2 and the V2 was quieter especially at 7k rpm
@@GregBoswell428 thanks!
So the smaller mm is for shorter ?
Yes
I don't usually use it when doing videos 🤣. Can't knock the the hustle...
Should i trim down or up ?
You watch the video?
Greg, I love my Brio, but sometimes it cuts me- even if I adjust the length. Any tips?
If you are adjusting the lengths, I'm not sure how you could be cutting yourself.
I ordered and typed in GREG and got nothing.
You don’t really need to. Using this link should automatically give you 10% off.
I’ll ask them about this though.
Either I've seen this video before or this isn't the first time you've conveniently forgot to hit the record button 🤨
I bought that "Beard King" bib, or whatever you call it. It was complete garbage....I had a difficult time in making the suction pieces stick to my mirror. It was awful, I stopped using it.
Clem your mirror
You got to lick it before you stick it …lol
Great Video, I would love to see a shave with 6mm guard would look on you .
that will probably be my next trim
still think the shorter beard looks best on you. makes you look younger, but still smart! 😀
Thanks man
I trimmed the bangs of the hair before with scissors.
I was doing 15mm on the body of the beard and 12 on the sides, when you said the mm you are using in the video I was shocked, it looked so short! but you know what? I think I'll give it a try, I'm getting tired of using a hair dryer every morning to give it a decent shape, and a hair dryer after the gym, I don't spend much time on it, but it will save me 20 minutes a day.
I also started working in a place that requires a good presence in front of the client and I think I would look better in a suit.
After doing it... it turned out spectacular! much more formal, it is scary to think of a 9mm clamp because it comes to mind when you go against the grain, but in the same direction there is a very presentable beard and the skin does not show through it either, that is what I like.
Thanks for this tutorial Greg!
New subscriber can you give me you’re eyebrow tutorial?? Not even joking
I'll make one soon for you.
Stud !👍
What brand of a Trimer would you recommend
The one in the video. Link in description
Brio doesn't ship to France ... WTF !!!
I'm sorry, I didn't know that. My other favorite trimmers are these Wahl Aqua Blade Trimmers. Check them out!
