Hey Geoff, gotta shoot my shot here. I do some film breakdowns on my channel. I’d love to pick your brain on some questions I got. Love the breakdowns. As always very insightful.

Thanks Geoff! Always interesting to see how the NFL has evolved over the years. It used to be a Bill Walsh Cardinal Rule to never leave a center one on one with a three-way go NG. Pass pro technique has improved enough now to be able to make that happen. Thanks again.

Great video! I didn't know anything about the O-line or protection, but you explained it really well! I can't wait to learn more!

Geoff, could you do a segment on checks at the LOS for 6 man slide and empty? What triggers a check, how is a play called in the huddle vs. how is slide and mike declaration made at the line, when does a check come into play, what is the verbiage for making the check?

@@geoffschwartz1569 why do the refs never call illegal formation when the tackles are clearly behind the rear end of the snapper? Do they ever enforce that part of the rule?

Great stuff Geoff. One question I do have, is when sliding the center left or right, does the call usually have him sliding away from the play side, so the QB can read an overload to the dual side and already be looking toward the direction of the main read in the play? Or is it more arbitrary?

It depends on the protection and the defense. The defense can actually dictate where the C slides every time if they wanted. And most do on 3rd down now. All on the alignment of the linebackers. It's how guys like Aaron Donald can get so many 1 on 1 pass rushes in a game
