The legacy of Harold Washington 30 years after his death

It was 30 years ago on the day before Thanksgiving that Harold Washington died in office.

I remember that sad day. I was on a plane headed to Pgh for Thanksgiving when the pilot announced his death . Mr Washington was one of my favorite politicians. He loved Chicago and it's people unlike any other.

Chicago seemingly can't have nice things when good mayors like Anton Cermak and Harold Washington both died so short in their tenure.
