All the man hours of painting a diff to show quality perfection means nothing to me, you could have $500k off this car and most of us would never notice. This is the ADHD obsesive end of custom cars that i have no interest in. I'd rather satnd next to my car at cars and coffee and say every bit of work was done by me, than i paid some guys a mil to build this. I think we should be real with ourselves and stop putting this stuff on such a high pedastal. Its not even the owners vision bar keeping the grill.

The birth of the "Retromod", muscle car gave a re-birth in my opinion, to the original models such as the Camaro and Dodge Charger. It was cars like the one shown that promoted a market for it.

I’m sorry I don’t see a million dollar car. Albeit I see amazing workmanship. If they used a perfect car to start with, why not start from the beginning with a bad one. As all the chassis and panels were replaced.
Some of the touches I like, some just do not float for me, the rear for instance reminds me of the 90’s.

Car building at this level may be the only area left where true creativity, craftsmanship, and hand-crafted art still come together to produce the best that humans are capable of. Cars at this level belong on a pedestal in a museum more than on a pot-holed street. This car is one example of the best of what we can produce. I might not be able to build something of this quality but I can certainly be in awe of it and appreciate it. Huge kudos to everyone involved in this project, from owner to builders, and thank you for bringing this work of art to life.

Fabulous car, and very impressive, yet I can't help but feel that the very clean original car was unnecessary to start from, could have preserved that and started with something in far worse shape since so much is completely changed anyway - all panels, frame, engine etc.

Best way to start a project is wtih a good one to start with.
THeres plenty of stock ones out there being "preserved" ie rotting in someones garage.
Part of preserving is driving them so they dont rot apart. mines sat for 3 and will take a ton of work to make safe again...even though everything has less than 100 mi on it.

I agree this car could have just as easily been built with a beat-up survivor considering only 10% of it is even stock. If I was doing it with this budget, I would have sacrificed a beater. And kept a high condition car to be used for reference. Oh well each to there own.

Amazing work everyone with any auto sense can appreciate. Just hurts doing this to a car that already stood on its own, when hand building so much of it anyway. Many other less pristine donors are available that could be saved in this way. If factory original cars are lost, it should be to ones that need saving not clean rollers. As these things get older custom cars are plenty and what they were becomes hard to find.

EIGHT YEARS of labor by some of the most talented men in the business. Every body panel started off as a flat sheet steel and was hand formed. Everything is pretty much built by hand.
How much do you figure that kind of talent gets paid per hour?
Every vehicle that has went for the Ridler award has hundreds of thousands of dollars invested in build time. Million dollars is almost a starting off budget for those caliber of builds.
      25 thousands hours of labor.
4 years to build just the interior.

I hate it when builders say
” we worked on it for 8 years”, when the truth is the project started 8 years ago.
It’s obviously an amazing end product. I can’t imagine the focus and the patience required to do something like this.
I’ve spent 2 years remodeling my bathroom… meaning the project still isn’t finished, lol.
