    The Nguni people started expanding to sub- Saharan Africa between the 1st and 5th Century, They did not come to this country in slave ships they migrated from west and east of Africa to settle in the South .I am only stating this because I think we all need to get our facts straight if we are to unite in fighting for equality in race,gender and economical empowerment in this country

    I am a South African now living in Canada. My opinion may not be of much value, but, it is quite disappointing to read some of these comments. Evil does not have a color. South Africa's history has seen it's fair share of unkind white people (apartheid), but the year 2013 is not the time to start pointing fingers about who's smarter or more evil. The fact of the matter is you are all stuck in the same country now, MAKE IT WORK. You are all flawed human beings. None better than the other.

    I'm not saying that the Khoi-San once occupied all of modern-day South Africa, but I am making the point that they were largely driven out of their ancestral homelands, and greatly reduced in numbers in the process.
    To expect modern-day black South African citizens to give up land that THEY have bought (from their government), paid for, worked on, and improved because of this is unreasonable. That's the point.

    Just in reading the comments below is why South Africa does not stand a chance of any form of peace and or freedom. The mental attitude of people is the only way of change, not getting land back, not striking, not shooting, not blaming and definitely nor the EFF. There is already enough blood that stains the streets, the homes and the land of South Africa, if the EFF continue on the march to economic freedom then there will be a lot more blood flowing.

    I also need to mention: Agang is a disappointment as they are not acting up, they r not causing any stir, nothing, they are not radical enough to topple the ANC. Would have voted for DA but their racist tendencies by its supporters is appauling. Therefore, EFF really offers refuge for ordinary blacks who genuinely think for their fellow blacks.

    Thank you for your genuine concern my friend, but EFF is a force to be reckoned with. EFF would model what happened for the Bafokeng Tribe, to the rest of South Africa. We need re-appropriation of land and mineral wealth and we need it now. Even if I don't get something myself, my children or my grandchildren will taste the real fruits of freedom. PS I am an educated SA'n, not in politics and I represent the views of many black youth. ANC is corrupt, DA habours racists, EFF possible answer.

      I've lived in Venezuela. We do not need a Chavez! That country hardly functions, it's been held together by a thin skeleton of oil money. Most people are desperate, crime is ridiculous, there are always food shortages and don't ever think about owning a company, he destroyed nearly all, especially small businesses.
      You're right though, in saying it's how RSA would be if Malema came to power. It would slip down the drain economically and socially...Poverty would become more widespread, the middle class would be destroyed and only the richest of the rich left, crime would rocket, currency would fall etc

    • @revol148
      @revol148 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      jeremy dickens"most people are desperate" - sounds like most of bankrupt western Europe! Chavez redistributed wealth as did Mugabe.The right-wing press simply refuse to see anything good in such an act - why would they? after all neoliberal economics is supreme NOTHING is allowed to challenge that....

    Empirical understand that these lands were not taken from the San people,South Africa was occupied in all different corners by different tribes the San people only occupied a potion of this which was more the Cape of good hope and Namibia,,Stated this earlier because evidence was found that the Azanians were the first to settle in SA and the other clans such as the San and Nguni people followed to occupy other areas of this country.

  • @EmpiricalPragmatist
    @EmpiricalPragmatist 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for proving my point. Ad hominem attacks and threats enter a debate when you don't have normal, logical things like evidence to support it. Every time you insult me, you're admitting that you have no argument.
    to imagine that there's some widespread conspiracy to commit genocide is bad enough, but to believe individuals like myself and others on this board are personally responsible demonstrates that you really haven't thought this through at all.

    Shaun Stiglingh, Firstly I would like to correct your statement about the San people being the original owners of South Africa,yes genetic evidence suggest that they are the oldest African tribe in the world but the first humans recorded in history to occupy sub-Saharan Africa were Azanians. AZANIA the real name of our country prior to colonization. Note that the San people only occupied arrears such as the Cape of good hope,Botswana,Namibia,Angola.

    Talk about greedy land owners but in reality the government owns most of the land, why not give them land and let them build their own farm. Why take a farm that is already built and running?? Start your own thing, WORK FOR IT.
    "The audit, released last week, found state land ownership was about 17,062-million hectares out of about 125-million hectares."
