Derek Adams as a powerful ballad , this version is unreal, if you listen to oasis 1995 slide away at glasto, its fucking unreal as well, the chemistry between Noel and Liam is absolutely unreal

'Slide Away' written by Noel about his stormy relationship with girlfriend Louise Jones, who he described as his soulmate. When they split up in June 1994 Noel said 'I don't think I'll ever get over it'. Definitely Maybe album was released in August 1994, track 10 is Slide Away.
james dwyer The lyrics to the song Married with Children were inspired by Noel's girlfriend at the time, Louise Jones. Fed up of hearing her boyfriend playing the guitar day after day, Jones reportedly told Noel that "your music's shite, it keeps me up all night". The line is quoted verbatim in the song. Noel also confessed to taking inspiration from the American sitcom, Married... with Children. "I looked at them two in the show, and looked at us two, and I thought, that's us, that is!

There's something about this one. And there's something about this performance too. I've heard this song at least 500 times, maybe a lot more. I've listened to it locked up in my room all through my adolescence, smoking cigarretes on winter nights with an open window, no lights but the one on the computer screen. I've cried while listening to it so many times I cannot even guess a number. I used to listen to it and think about this girl that I couldn't have. I was in deep pain, unable to hold her, kiss her, touch her. After many, many rejections over the years, I sang this song, and this version, to her at a sweet 15 party. A buddy of mine played guitar. I was 13 years old, she was 13 years old. I know we were young, but it all felt very real. She was with someone else at the time (not at the party), but I got through her that night, just as Noel got through every layer of my body and grabbed my soul so many times. Three years passed and we finally got together. Sadly, there was no happy ending. I guess as Jack Johnson says, waiting on love ain't so easy to do. However, this song takes me back and so deep very easily. I'm 28 now, and I still cry some times when I hear Noel bite that ''Take me there'' and then release into that sustained note. You know why? Because he really left something there that night. It is almost tangible. It is so sadly hopeful and so clear, so honest, so sensitively strong, the feeling he injected to this one. I cannot fathom such a crappy video (so thankful though) and so many visits without an essence as rich as the one it has. I love this song, I will always do, and I'm sure that at the end of the road this one will be my deepest cut. Something similar happens with Don't Go Away's version at this concert, but it's not quite as clear.
Liam’s “MIIIIIIIINE” at Knebworth 96 and Noel’s “THEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERE” at 5:32 here are two of Oasis best live moments ever, and both were done singing the same song lol

TAKE ME THERE.... I got tickets to this show for my 16th birthday. I remember praying every night and up to the minute they walked out on stage that they wouldn’t cancel. My prayers were answered and precious Noel sang this song just for me ( or at least it felt that way 🤷🏼♀️). One of THE best nights of my 16 years on earth ❤️
This has to be the best live version of a song performed by it's composer. To me it seems that Noel is not even "at the concert". Seems like he went deep into his memories and just let it flow. Please never ever ever ever ever ever delete this. This is the best version i've ever heard of this song. Amazing.
Best version of any song, by any artist, I've ever heard. The emotion in this version is undescribable!
Music is great when it makes you laugh, cry when it makes you feel sad, angry, happy. You know it’s special when it makes you think and you apply the song to your own life.
Andrew Cox beautifully said brother
How many babies were born nine months after this performance? The old men better thank our kid for loosening up every gash in the house
Been looking EVERYWHERE for this one. Seriously worth the search! Literally the best track of Definitely Maybe.
Best version of slide away ever the intro is amazing goosebumps from beginning to end
He sang his soul right there. I was loving it 15 years ago and still nothing Has changed. :))
Dude, you deserve a place in heaven for recording it...
I had this on a burnt CD with all his other great acoustic performances for so many years. It actually got stuck in the cd player of a work truck we drove all over the country for a few years. Whenever we couldn’t pick up any good radio stations, the old adage was, “f*ck it, put on some Noel.” Great memories.
I had an accoustic sessions CD years ago too volume 1 & 2 was fantastic .
perfection. this version is incredible, noel sings with so much emotion...
This song, played in this version, by the genious that is Noel Gallagher, is the reason I wanted to learn and play the guitar. Bought my first guitar a while ago, and today is the very first time I could play this song, in this version in full, without mistakes. I am so proud. Thank you for being such an inspiration!! x
The greatest, absolute genius, best love song ever

really really amazing voice. I love Noel´s voice tone and he still got it...Thanks for decades of good music Noel.
Timeless performance, still my fave acoustic performance ever even after all these years xx
I remember when this was first uploaded, surprised that after almost 10 years there's only 300k views.... I know the other million are mine
20 years on and it's still giving me chills
best thing I've ever watched, how people have even disliked this version is beyond me. pure class!
1:20 the way he sings "now that your mine". Beautiful
I challenge anyone to find a better live version of this
