Necry Talkie are an absolute blast and they often "blend" the cheerful music with some quite strange or even dark lyrics. It's one of those bands that i think doesn't get the credit they deserve, quite unique bunch of weirdos... in the best way possible lol
Their music videos are also a ton of fun, you should watch "Chakapoco", "Yumemiru Donebozu" or "Yurusei Hattori" to get a better look at how fun they are

Chakapoco is a song all about how fun it is to yell nonsense words like "chakapoco".

I love Necry Talkie. They're so much fun for a band whose name pretty much means "Talking about death". Mossa's voice is indeed very cute. Some of their lyrics get quite dark but the music is nearly always upbeat. They are all terrific musicians, too. Their live shows are a riot.
Recommend also checking out Ashitani Datte (明日にだって), Chakapoco, and a personal favourite Frog Quest II (turn the subtitles on). There's a live version of Ashitani Datte on their TH-cam channel.

The first time I heard their album "Freak" after I bought it a while ago I wasn't sure what to think, I bought it blind after seeing a recommendation for the band so I had not idea what their sound was. I found it a bit too poppy and I really didn't feel Mossa's very high pitched voice (she can clearly sing though), but I could hear they were talented musicians that knew what they were doing. But I enjoyed the album more after having listened to it more and since I am trying to get my ear to get more used to the more poppy sound of Japanese pop rock and J-Pop anyway, I decided to buy a couple of their other albums and a lot of them arrived a couple of days ago.
So I started listening to their first one (titled One!) yesterday and I had the same feeling, way too high of a voice for my personal taste, but I get used to it after a couple of tracks. Part of that album actually sounds like poppy ska-punk to me (not all of the tracks though). The main takeaway I have from their sound is that you can hear they are having a lot of fun. I also have a concert Blu-ray that I bought together with "Freak" and that I still have to watch, but I have heard their concerts are "very energetic" and that reminds me of Gacharic Spin, so hopefully Necry Talkie are as much fun to watch as Gacharic Spin are.
I also noticed, after putting some of the credits on a website yesterday, that their main songwriter, Asahi (the guitarist on the right of the screen) is also a vocaloid producer under the name "石風呂 / Ishifuro" and he plays in an other band as well. He is born in 1990, but the amount of releases he has under his belt (mainly as vocaloid producer) is impressive. Necry Talkie has 2 releases called "Memories" and "Memories2" that seem to be self-covers, but I can't find those tracktitles in their catalogue, so I am guessing they might be covers of some of his vocaloid tracks or something.
Also, their bass player Fujita comes up with some interesting basslines, which is always a plus for me.

At last Necry Talkie fronted by the wonderfully charismatic Mossa; you seem to be going through all of my favourite bands and artists at the moment, even if it is their older well known material. Live their laying is a little harder and their lyrics are often darker than their joyous music

Love this... first time I set my eyes and ears on this band was with a live performance of 『Re:』 with Ayuni D (PEDRO/BiSH) and it's freaking awesome. PEDRO is my current "obsession" but when I stumbled on Necry Talkie because of PEDRO I knew I needed to check this band out. Right now I'm deep into PEDRO but will soon need to know more about Necry Talkie, albums, how long they've been around, what did I missed so far, connections, etc, etc, etc... so, yeah, Necry Talkie is already in my "need-to-check" check list. Check check! I mean, bye bye - Great reaction as always, really fun video! Thum Up Number 13!

Asahi and Fujita (guitar & bass) had previously worked together before forming Necry Talkie at the beginning of 2017, Kazuma the drummer came next and only then Mossa. When they did their debut album One in 2018 the very quirky keyboard player Ayala wasn’t credited as a band member, though even listening to that I couldn’t imagine their sound without Ayaka. I must have ventured on them early because I bought the album and Memories their follow up EP before the others were out. A lot of people in the West only found them after Mossa guested on Maguro (Kana Boon)’s First Take appearance

I would direct you to the First Take performance with Mossa (Necry Talkie) dueting with Maguru from Kana Boon. They have that something special usually seen with lovers. The performance is truly a classic. The song is called Naimono Nedari You will thank me later,

The Netflix show Scott Pilgrim Takes Off uses the Necry Talkie song "Bloom" for its intro, and it's amazingly good -- very catchy, well crafted and played.
